Hi everyone, reading across the forum for years, but posting my first comment now. Here´s a quick one and I hope anyone can help:
I have a Xiaomi Mi5, am currently on MIUI 7.6.11.0, the bootloader is already unlocked and I want to install @bgcngm ´s TWRP + CM13 for Xiaomi Mi5. I ordered the phone from a Chinese shop incl. a preinstalled Play Store. In a pretty detailed tutorial I read it says that, besides an unlocked bootloader, an already installed China Dev ROM is required before installing any other custom ROM.
Is that true? Or isn´t it sufficient to allow root + install TWRP & CM13 as next steps?

- What the difference between the Xiaomi.eu roms and a global version like i have on my device?
- I'm looking for the pedometer. Where is it if there is one installed on it?
- If i unlock the bootloader, for relock it i must to install chinese rom?

1. Xiaomi.eu rom is based on the China rom so has more features than the global rom.
2. Go to the Play Store and search for an app called Moves. This will track whatever you need.
3. Since you have the global version, you would need to install the global version (if you install Xiaomi.eu rom) to lock the bootloader again.
Hi, I've also bought a Mi Mix 3 global version, from amazon (it will be my first Xiaomi). I should receive it next Thursday. I plan to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP and Magisk. I have found many useful infos in this section, but I'd still like to add a couple more questions:
- My desktop PC has a Ryzen CPU. Do I still need another computer to run Mi Unlock?
- Will I be able to install global OTAs, with TWRP?
- After installing TWRP and Magisk, I should skip formatting data and storage if I don't want to decrypt the phone, is it correct? Are there any advantages and/or drawbacks in running decrypted vs encrypted?
(With my current Nexus 6, which has a SD805, I could feel a small difference, mosty in terms of battery life)

Hello, I am considering getting a 10t pro and trying to figure it out which is the easiest degoogle method. As far as I see there ia no official lineage os for it for now. It looks like the CN roms are as google free as I like. The question is can I have an Eropean phone running the CN rom with locked bootloader? Furthermore do I need to unlock it in order to flush the CN rom in a first place? Are there other viable options? Thanks!
