Did you 'format data' after wiping and before flashing the custom rom in TWRP?

TWRP will not installan ROM that I give it on OP7 P

I have been trying unsucessfully tryiing to install Havoc OS on my phone for 2 days now and I believe the common theme seems to be TWRP.
I have tried to install different versions of Havoc, and then other Roms too and all fail in the same place.
There is no error code.
I have also tried to install different versions of TWRP going from 3.4.0.0 to 3.3.1.79 to 3.3.1.70 and none of these work
The steps are not complex and I have followed them to the letter
the bootloader is unlocked and magisk got installed although not needed for this part.
I also tried to install the rom via USB OTG and didnt work
please assist I am having so many issues with stock OS that i would like to try something else
TIA Bart
This can be closed I found it a much older version on the TWRP site itself and that actually allowed me to to flash the ROM

Can't install Pixel Experience Custom Android 12

I have been struggling to install Pixel Experience Android 12 on my Poxo X3 NFC.
I had PE Android 11 before. When I tried to flash Android 12 I get following error
assert failed: update_dynamic_partition(package_extract_file("dynamic_partition_op_list"))
Updater process ended with ERROR: 1
Error installing zip file ...
What I tried
1, Install latest firmware
2. Format Data
3. Wipe data, dalvik, cache
3. Sideloading Custom Rom
Can someone help me to revive my device please?
Thanks a lot
Hello, on my wife's X3NFC I had to flash the latest Full ROM (12.5.7) via Fastboot.
Then I was able to install the lA12 PE. I don't know why I had to do this, but it worked.
She didn't like A12 PE and now A11 PE is running again on her Phone
Maybe (I heard about that) it works too, if you only flash the super.img from latest Fastboot-Image via Recovery.

I installed MIUI fastboot rom. Then I tried to flash PE A12 rom without any issues. But after successful completion, phone reboots to bootloader (Fastboot). Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?
Can you please give me steps to install PE after you've installed MIUI fastboot rom?
1st installed latest MIUI via MiFlash
Booting successful into MIUI
Flashing TWRP in Fastboot-Mode
Booting into TWRP, install ROM, wipe Caches and format data.
Reboot Phone
i'm in this very predicament. Still on PE11 Plus Edition and can't flash PE12 giving me the very same ERROR. Can someone pls post the sure way to get this done properly? Links to roms that must be flashed first would be very appreciated...

question about A12 roms

noticed we've had some A12 roms for a little while now and for some reason now instead of flashing them, all of them seem to be sideloaded and using that roms custom recovery to sideload it instead of using something like twrp and normally flashing it. any reason this is the case with A12 roms? and is it possible to downgrade from an A12 rom back to OOS 11/10?
The reason for the sideloading is that there's no working version of TWRP for A12 that can decrypt the data partition, hence lineage created a custom recovery and I believe everyone else has copied it. As for the downgrading, you may be able to sideload a stock file, but I'd use the MSM tool to get back to OOS, although you should keep in mind you will need to unlock the bootloader once again.

Question Can anyone verify these steps for the custom rom?

Theres a website I found that gives steps to install GSI for a53. If anyone can verify or has the guts to do this.

There are typically 2 ways to flash GSIs.
The "safest" way would probably be to do it via TWRP. Otherwise, if TWRP is not available for your device, you can patch your stock recovery to enable Fastbootd and flash the partitions directly from ADB.
