Help: Button "System Update" disabled. Cannot do local update - OnePlus Nord Questions & Answers

Hi,
I want to go back to unroot and install the latest Stock ROM. I have uninstalled magisk already. And put the original boot.img in place.
But: The button "System update" under Settings->System was and still is greyed out. So I can't install a local update from the zip file I have downloaded.
I have found that every other method is complicated. What is the reason for the disabled button and how can it be undone. I have checked Developer Settings -> 'Automatic Systemupdates'.
If nobody knows, is there another easy method to get the latest stock image on the phone?

I'm stuck in the same situation :-(

[Q] [HELP]I accidentally applied an OTA to stock rooted ICS

Hello my name is Unicorn, I did a forum search to see if my particular scenario has been addressed before but did not find anything (perhaps because of my choice of search keywords, I'm not sure.) I made some mistakes and was hoping a more informed member can assist me in remedying my errors. Here is the situation as of currently:
1. I purchased a Verizon SGS3 (SCH-i535) back in December 2012, and was able to root it successfully using the method in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875914
2. I flashed Synergy ROM (Synergy_d2vzw_02Dec12_2021_r125_s.zip) so my custom binary count is thus far 1.
3. I began having some trouble with Synergy ROM around the time that Verizon deployed their Stock Jellybean OTA update (the "Limit Mobile Data Usage" and "Use Mobile Data" toggle check boxes disappeared from the settings menu which is unusual because I did NOT opt to accept the OTA update.)
4. Rather than trying to manually diagnose why the check box toggles were then missing, I decided merely to Restore my CWMR Recovery Image in order to bring myself back to the modded stock rom (effectively putting me back in the position that I was in after step 1 but before step 2 mentioned above.)
5. Returning to the modded stock rom brought back the toggles as desired, however since the rom was ICS 4.0.4 I was still persistently receiving the nag message asking me download and install the OTA Jellybean update (which I deferred.)
6. This morning the deferment date lapsed, which prompted my phone to restart and boot back in to CWMR 6.0.1.0 where I was asked to confirm whether CWMR should flash the update package.
7. I mistakenly chose to apply the update because I was disoriented due to having just recently awoken, and because I had already hit the home button I allowed the update to proceed (I didn't want to pull the battery part-way through the flash for fear that it would somehow brick my phone.)
8. There were 2 other prompts that appeared during this process, the first one telling me that the update might install stock recovery and the second one informing me that root might be lost (even though I chose the menu options that should have prevented these occurrences from happening it would appear that they in fact still took place because when I attempted to boot back in to CWMR from the EZ-Recovery 2.0 menu I was confronted with the screen telling me that I had unauthorized software and should see a Verizon representative to fix it.
9. After powering down I was able to boot back in to Android after which I found that the "About Phone" section reported an incremental update to Android 4.1.1 so it would appear that the OTA installed partially (even though I'm still getting the notification telling me I need to download the update.)
Basically I just want to return my device to unrooted stock so that I can start fresh then re-root later, but I'm not sure what the best method to use is because I'm not certain if the device is still rooted at this point.

Can't update either with OTA or manually!! [original firmware]

Hi there, I have an Letv 1s X500 with stock EUI, not the international one with the app drawer, but the chinese original rom (but in english) with the 'Live' button.
The phone did *one* OTA update from 012S to 013S, but after that I waited way more than a month for the next one, only to find out that there's already the 016S. But my phone's update app and the "Settings/About phone" both say the operating system is updated to the 013S. Did this happened to anybody else?
I never rooted my phone and I have (and always had) the original rom and original recovery, and again, I have the chinese firmware which permits OTA updates.
Not only that but I can't update it manually either! I download the update, rename it to "update.zip", put it in the internal memory root (the file is ok, not an incomplete download)
I tried installing it with both the recovery boot, and the system update app /more options ('...' symbol) / "local update"; and the result is always the same: it aborts the update by saying "error in signature".
I downloaded the rom from here although their official site seems to be less and less reliable (016S link doesn't work).
Later I downloaded this 014S for my phone "S1_x500-OS-OP-DHXOSOP5501405251S-5.5.014S.zip" (don't remember the site), and also a no-go.
I did nothing to corrupt my phone. The only thing I did was unchecking the notifications of some Letv apps (didn't disable the apps though), but I already re-enabled them. I also installed google play and google services via that Google installer apk (not through any custom recovery).
So, what's going on? Can anyone point me to an updated (014S+) working rom for the Letv 1s X500?
The phone is working fine with the current 013S, but I'm already 2 or 3 updates behind.
I hope someone can help me.
Thank you.

man, stock ROM is very unstable. Flash custom Rom named Miui, is very stable, without Chinese apps and you will get frequently updates. Good luck http://forum.xda-developers.com/leeco-le-1s/development/miui-8-6-7-8-international-t3415088

How to properly flash tulip with twrp and ota on stock?

Hello there.
I'm using tulip for few months now. One of first things that I've done, have been unlocking device, rooting it and put stock rom with root access on it. So far, so good. I did not encounter any serious glitches etc, but now I would like to finally upgrade miui to 11 (currently having 10.3).
And there's my problem. I would love to dodge making clean installation (wipe data etc) and I do not wish to risk to bootlooping my phone. I've read on some threads (older ones, but still) that you cannot simply install ota update in system, because due to changed recovery (I do have TWRP instead of fabric one) you will cause bootloop. I've tried alternative method of installing zip BY twrp, but program says, that it encounter a problem called "package expects build fingerprint (...) of tulip 0/PKQ1.180904.001/V10.3.2.0.PEKMIXM or PKQ1.180804.001/V11.0.2.0; this device has omni_tulip/tulip:8.1.0/OPM8.181105.002/1", and then sait, that in had error 7.
Is it simply wrong rom being installed and I have to choose something that is being named the same way and supports ota, or is there a way to go more swiftly through this process? If so and I should pick rom with ota - what to choose? I like deep level customisation, but compatibility with google store, being able to use store, payments and paid apps, instead of "opening them" by some lucky patchers kind of apps.
OR MAYBE I just need to change recovery from TWRP to something different - like PBRP f.e.? Just like this thread says - https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...how-to-setup-official-miui-breeaking-t3893703
Just a quick update - changing twrp to pbrp does not change anything in upgrade process - still get the same error, now just without telling me, which version do I have.
Also, what's interesting, apparently twrp said to me that I do have android 8.1, but "about phone" in system says, that its android 9 (9PKQ1.180904.001 to be exact).
That's werid, because everywhere I check, phone says "android 9" as a version of it.
Have you tried wiping system and installing?

Not yet. I've found method of flashing via PBRB with usage of downloaded file and one option check, but I'm not gonna try it, unless I do a backup of my apps. If that won't work, I'll perform a clean instalation and choose rom that supports ota.
well, I've tried to do this with the method, that I've described before, but this did not ended successfully. I'll look for rom with ota update possibility and then install it most likely. Apps had backup, so I lost almost nothing.
It worked. I had to download bigger patch (1.7 GB, instead of circa 700 MB, that I've tried before), I also had to use method described here -> https://c.mi.com/thread-1782169-1-1.html (pitch black recovery, instead of twrp + one tweak in options). Start after flash was very long (it took like 10 minutes or so), but it booted successfully in the end. Not sure which rom I do have after all, but as far as I remember it was so close to stock, as possible (with only few extra options and tweaks). So yea, it just works.

If you search all your answers are here in the forum but anyway,
First of all you should download the whole rom update the full package and put it to phone storage (you can download it with oxygen updater you can find it on google play store it is free.)
Disable all magisk modules and restart your phone
then go to system update and tap on the 3 dots up and right side of phone screen from there choose local upgrade
wait for it to complete and do not restart your phone
- Open Magisk Manager;
- Menu/modules/+ button/select the twrp installer.zip and flash it;
- Always in Magisk Manager, click on Install/Install/Direct Install;
- Again in Magisk Manager, click on Install/Install/Inactive Slot;
- Reboot.

Cant rollback from OxygenOS 12 to 11

Hi, I have this super-weird issue - my OOS got update to v12 and since then weird things happened:
It started to suddenly and immediately turn off and I couldnt do a thing. I did hard reset and noticed that turning on Gooogle Assistant (or using the mic at all) caused these resets. So I didnt activte Assistant. Unfortunnately, this caused my mic not to work at all.
So i have given up and decided to revert to previous rom - v11. Unfortunately, that is everything but simple:
I have downloaded ROM for EU from here oneplus site and tried both OP local update tool and this weird app named my application2. Both dont seem to work and im not sure why, I checked like 5 different ROM versions and I am kind of stuck. OP Local prompts me that I cannot install lower version of package than currently installed and this other app throws me pop up with this message: "Verification failed". I tried to google it and checked here on forum and I cant find similar thread.
Could anyone help me out with this?
I just went through this. I downgraded from 12L to 11. For some reason some of the roms do not want to be used by the local upgrade app. I used a different one from the one I will direct you to and it said that I couldn't downgrade. I just had to find the right one. Go here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...a-oxygen-os-repo-of-oxygen-os-builds.3930585/
Under "signed flashable zips" in the op, click "click to show content". I don't know which one you need global/India or Europe. I specifically used the global/India OnePlus7ProOxygen_21.P.41_GLO_0410_2112101753.
Use the local upgrade tool app. Downgrading will completely wipe your phone. So, make backups of your backups. If you root your phone, make sure to freeze the System Update app to get rid of the annoying update notification. So happy to have root/twrp back.
Thanks, unfortunately I have rolled back to OOS 11 and it didnt solve a thing - i keep seeing this lightning symbol and phone turns off even on full battery, I cant make phone calls because any use of mic turns off the phone immediately and I have no clue what to do next with it.
