I borrowed my friends SIM to activate my MYTOUCH phone. During activation, it said this GMAIL account is now linked to this phone. problem is it is HIS gmail account, not mines.
Is there a way to change the email to my gmail address?
Or is the only way to RESET the phone?

I'm on an eclair rom right now but there should be an option in your settings called "sync" or something like that where you can add a gmail account and once you add one you can delete the other. Why did you need to borrow someone's SIM to activate the phone? Wouldn't that activate it on that service instead of your own? What are you gonna do when there's no wireless for you to use?

Yes, depend on rom installed. Try this , is you use a rom basef on Eclaire, or something similar in other cases.
Settings-Privacy settings-Factory data reset. Atention that erase all your data stored un phone (contacts etc)
Well, that's weird. Why did you put in your friend's email address? Should've been able to put in your email address even with his SIM.
I found the solution:
going into settings -> applications -> manage apps -> gmail, gmail storage & google apps and clear cache and data. then reboot the phone and see if it prompts you to enter a gmail account.
Once i deleted DATA, i was able to create new gmail account!
I have about 800 contacts all saved with country code, when i receive a phone call the contact name does not appear it shows unknown, what should i do? when i receive an sms the sender name appears normaly please help
Did a quick google search. A few folks with the same kinda issue. Are you syncing your contacts with google contacts? Do they appear correctly when you go to contacts.google.com? If they do, then try unlinking the phone with google contact sync, then clearing data from contact storage, google contacts sync, and phone (Settings > Apps > app name > clear data). Then relink your google contact sync. See if that works. Don't really know though. Try, won't lose anything.
Hello. Yesterday I changed my gmail password so I had to update it on my android as well. I wanted to do this but instead of changing the password I deleted my gmail account from the android. Now I set the gmail back up with my phone and I don't see my phone contacts(phone numbers) any more.. There are just some facebook/skype contact in my contact list now.
I had my phone to save them on my gmail account because this seemed convenient. Is there a way to get them back? I tried looking at my gmail contacts on my computer and there are none there, I tried the restore contacts option but it didn't bring any up.
Is there anything I can do?

i changed my password and now i keep gettin error messages saying i have the wrong email/password combination. this is so annoying
Please make sure on a PC, you can log on successfully to your Google Account either in Gmail or any other Google Apps such as Drive.
I’m new to all this but I need a workaround for 2fa. I didn’t verify an email with the account, just my phone. So I forgot to set my new number as a verified device. I have the password and username. Snapchat won’t help me unlock it. Or allow me to change my verification number. My old number is currently taken, I tried to buy another phone with that same number. The current owner of the number won’t pick up or respond. Any help is appreciated.
