So even with the white update screen with no details, today I received the July 2021 security update via OTA. It took quite some minutes to install, both in the OS and the reboot. Xiaomi still surprises us, even though it's not really that surprising I think nothing was fixed.

stuck on android 10 official
This one should be the very last
Is Android 10 now stable, Or stick with Android 9?
Still has the same issues:
- Camera not opening from lock screen;
- Touchpad becomes unresponsive after some time;
I don't experience these problems.
I recommend a reset.
These problems only show up after a long uptime.

Hi All,
I've had my Redmi S2 for a week and i've noticed that when the phone is in sleep and when i try to wake it up via the power button it take about 5 or 6 seconds before it kicks in.
Having searched the web i can see it WAS a bug a few years back but nothing recently. I've messed around with some settings but nothing has improved it.
My phone is on MIUI Version: MIUI Global 10.0 / Stable 10.0.4.0 (Android Version 8.1)
Is there a fix for this?
Thanks
JPC_80

No.
-Facebook applications can't record video (Video capture fail error)
-------Found problem--------
The only system wide equalizer system that still works (the one explained here) on our device is causing the problem related to recording video in Facebook/Facebook Messenger/Instagram. Force closing the app now enables the video recording and as soon as the app is restarted the problem occurs again. And that's weird because the DSP isn't supposed to mess up the microphone or whatever facebook finds faulty and cancels the recording... Weird... Will look this up and update if solution is found.
Going back to the PRO version of that app now totally ignores the volume control of the device, which means in this .5 built the audio paths were modified. With pro version video recording is still failing. This is not a fix from xiaomi, this is an internal workaround, which is bad!!!
Even clearing the system, problem still persists. Checked permissions, checked storage writing, all is working, except video recording.
--------End of edit--------
-Sim settings does not respect system theme (only white)
--------Lazy modding from Xiaomi, this is the same dual sim controller app you had in Android Pie, just thrown in the Q environment--------
-Refreshing external device problem still persistent, new data copied on to the device only visible after reboot.
--------Not the only one with this problem, this is basically related to having huge folders on your SD card. I have a folder with >15k files in it)--------
-Sometimes some large games force close, but are fine after restarting the app (only sometimes - Only applicable on Gameloft ones - Totally unimportant)
What was fixed:
-Video record sound can now work with Google Voice turned on
-Ram management works fine for me (4/64)
??? Questionable effects:
-Lock screen sounds work for me (testing after a reset, still working just fine)
-Charging/USB sounds seems too low for me (problem persists, the vibration of the device is actually covering the sound)
Other than this, everything else remained the same as per what I wrote in my previous replies.
Qualcomm's app for data collection is still there, so this may be another partial release. They fixed something but the broke something else in another place.
Another lazy update, the battery is draining much faster than on .4 version, waiting for calibration. I'm starting to get sick over their incompetence to test and deliver a good end user experience.

Let's not conclude quickly that the memory leak has benn fixed. I am trying to trigger it.
edit:
The device did not wake up from sleep, I got a random reboot.
magisk works as it should.
I install the update OTA this morning from official pie, the phone work well, the phone signal is a bit weak but all works well. No gesture in smart Launcher 5, i have fluid gesture for this feature.

Also did two reset through settings, but nothing changed, still missing.
Have you maybe tried to flash fastboot image ?

I upgraded through ota from 10.0.18 to 11.0.4 and then i did Factory reset;
- New Charging sound was gone
- Lockscreen sounds doesnt work neither v11.0.4 nor v11.0.5
Anyone else getting super slow charging with this update? This is my first attempt to upgrade from Pie, and I've gone from 23% to 25% in almost an hour on standby...
- Direct share is still not available.
Please what do i do?
My phone is stuck with boot loop after upgrade to android 10.
how can i downgrade?
hi all!
face unlock function is gone completely, but after poking around I found that is the 'feature' and requirement of android 10 due to google's security concerns. ok...
but the problem I am facing is of a different nature. After update, I did factory reset but did not remove fingerprints prior to that operation. Now fingerprint enrolment fails every time I attempt to add another fingerprint. I was doing some digging around before posting this, and I already did try some of the solutions suggested for some other models which I have found scattered across XDA / so I already did boot twrp and erased via twrp file manager some of the files in /persist/data but that did not help.
any suggestions that could help, please?! thank you!

Yes: -
1. Sell Mi A2 Lite
2. Buy a Pixel
Seems bizarre that the Pixel would not force this message on you and the Android One phone would but at the point this phone is exactly that, just a bizarre curiosity. Bye bye Xiaomi.

You've got to hand-exit the XML file in the settings suggestion data folder. You'll need root. Or you could boot (not install) TWRP and edit from there.
If your bootloader is locked, there doesn't seem to be any way to stop it. You can clear data on settings suggestions but the suggestions will come back and can't be dismissed.

thanks. my boot loader is unlocked so I can boot easily into twrp. But I am not sure what do you mean with hand-exit and which exactly folder that xml file is in? thanks again.

https://support.google.com/android/thread/24667791?hl=en
This happened to me after upgrading a Xiaomi Mi A2 to Android 10 from Android 9.
Might be related to the "/data/data/com.android.settings.intelligence/shared_prefs/suggestions.xml" file not updating some values properly, since some users with rooted systems have changed manually this values to "true":
<boolean name="com.google.android.gm/com.google.android.gm.setup.AccountSetupFinalGmailSuggestions_is_dismissed" value="true" />
<boolean name="com.android.settings/com.android.settings.notification.ZenSuggestionActivity_is_dismissed" value="true" />
And the suggestions don't appear to them anymore.
I had to do this a few times, as new things popped up.

9- Some app services stucks on Restart state.

I will constantly update this thread.
First of all, I changed my logic in which I do this updates. Last month I had my one and only random system reboot so I tried to give it a little thought on how I should update this system, and so far I had no problem with it: You see, Android 10 had quite a lot of bad, unresolved updates, especially for those who manage to have a "successful" day one update (this translates to those who didn't have a bricked device) so now, when an update comes, it just tried to patch the old broken version, with mixed results, and not completely over write it. Remember back in A9 age? When you'd miss an montly update, the next month your update size would be >1gb? That means the 2 version old android version wouldn't be compatible with the new build so it did a complete rewrite of the partition? This never happened on A10 since launch, so here's what I did, after that system crash I downloaded the 10.0.7 and flashed it twice (by rewriting twice it means this, flash, reboot, boot into system, shut down, recovery, flash again, reboot, boot into system) through recovery, thus rewriting both A and B partitions with a known "good" (it still has bugs, but it doesn't carry the day 1 or day 2 major bugs) firmware flash. Now the same happened with the new update the 11.0.9, copied to SD, flashed through recovery and here is my review.
The bug in which the 5G icon in the wi-fi menu wouldn't hold if connected to the network and turned into a 4G wi-fi network still stands. This is only a visual bug, since the 5G network is doing just fine.
Tested the camera extensively and now it has a more aggressive focus and it's sharp again, image size is now large, like before, quality is improved in daylight, but the low light still could use some improvement.
The "useless" cards in Settings menu are still there (I personally only have the Customize your pixel one).
There is now a smoother feedback in the haptic feedback, so sometimes it seems like it's not working, but it's me not feeling it.
The 4G speeds still seem to be low, but again, like I said last time it could be a problem from my network provider, so I can't be 100% sure.
The internal storage speeds seem more and more slow on the other hand, I can't get transfers over 30mb/s on the internal storage, weird, because on .7 I could go over 100mb/s without a problem.
The RAM management is weird, after flashing the phone "my way", I can open ALL of the phone's apps and they'd stay up and running in the RAM until the phone starts going so sluggish that's almost a burden to use. It doesn't selectively remove apps from ram until closed from the recent menu. It isn't a problem for 5-10 apps open at once, but it starts getting weird after 30-40. Also the background apps are killed after a specific time, not by RAM usage which is counter intuitive... damn.
The MTP - SD card is still faulty. Refuses to display contents of large folders unless plugged out and plugged back in again. At least it's not crashing transfers right now.
The Media scanner is still faulty, after copying data to SD card they won't display in the specific apps (Google Photos, Google Music) but if manually searched (for example in my case Hiby Music) they're there and they can be used. Only reboot fixes this problem.
Direct Share is still not working.
This is all I had to say about the new .9 update, the rest of the more extensive things I covered can be found in the 11.0.7 thread, and it wasn't productive to write them here again, since the experience didn't change.
Battery seems a little worse than 11.0.7 but that was just the first day of testing, so it's irrelevant for most real world situations.
Other than the new method of installing and the few problems that seems odd to me, I can't report anything else after 1 day of usage. It's more usable, but it still have it's quirks... at least they didn't break anything else this time.
Yup.. Day two ram managent is getting as you described.. Still the device seems working better..
Update: generally better but still ram gets full after a couple of days. Still needs to reboot to fix the issue and clean the memory.
I think it's unbelievable that 4gb of ram are not enough to run this system.. There must be some bad development.
Not seeing "Some app services stucks on Restart state".
I can confirm you that the app you have mentioned in 9 are causing the device to slow because if you restart the app and then force stop them via hibernator Pro your phone who don't feel slow until they start again
I'm still having memory issues on my 4GB RAM model. Chrome tabs usually reload when switching back from another app even if I only have 1 tab open. The Google feed on the left of the main screen also reloads constantly. Those things didn't happen on android 9, I was able to seemingly switch between apps.

Same. I cant even download Call Of Duty: Mobile if i wont stay on Google Play Store app. Play Store downloads it %99 and if i switch to another app LMK kills the download process and then i am switching back to Play Store app it starts downloading from %0.

I had issues when multitasking Youtube and Opera/Chrome. It lagged until starting to freeze the browser, requiring me to press home and go back to browser. In some ocasions, the device restarted, maybe when ram got full or somehow corrupted.
After months in this situation, I gave up the once beloved Android One for the MIUI port HybridOS. After flashing this rom my device is completely different, more responsive, much less laggy, battery charges much more faster, and drains a lot less. The difference is like water turned into wine. Not to mention better camera quality (much better!), and the ability to record internal audio from everything (thanks to MIUI). I'm happy with my device again.

Hi
Are you still on that version ?
How has it been I'm tempted as my phone's so slow now I'm still on stock.
Do the banking apps work ok as that's my main worry for changing as I need them.
Do you have a link for your version I can't seem to find it.
Thanks

Hi, I felt my device was slowly becoming unstable, and some bugs from the original MIUI device began to bother me a little, e.g. "Do Not Disturb" mode don't block message sounds from favorite contacts, I wanted only call sounds, as in Android One. My wife still uses the Hybrid OS (same phone as ours) and she likes it a lot because of the camera quality and the cool interface. Banking apps work fine in HybridOS.
I decided to downgrade my A2 Lite to the original Oreo Android One (8.1), and I think battery lasts more then Hybrid OS, and the phone is even more smoother and stable. Some tradeoffs are the (very bad) camera, no dark theme, no radio, and some other minor features, but the phone is almost like when I bought it back in 2018. Now I remember how great this phone was/is.
If you really wish, I can try to upload the Hybrid OS somewhere.
So i was very Excited as soon as i Got Android 12 Funtouch os 12 Update in My system update app,
I immediately Downloaded it and Updated it. Without even reading reviews online,
Now after the upgrade this Thing is full of Bugs.
.
And i am starting to hate My phone after this The Os is not polished, icon edges Looks weird in Notification panel, auto brightness Is buggy as hell.
.
And list goes on.
.
And till Date there is no way to Roll back to android 11.
.
So i would suggest you not to Upgrade to android 12, there's nothing New.
Just visit the service cneter and they'd flash Android 11 back on your phone.
That's the only thing that you can do now.
I am using funtouch os 12 from 1 months and can say that it is far better than os 11..go fro it
My device is Samsung Galaxy s10e (SM-G970U1). Recently, I updated to the latest security patch (build: G970U1UES6HVD10), then tried to change shortcuts from lock screen setting. My phone stopped working completely, it doesn't even respond. It happened several times. It may be a bug.
