Huawei P20 (EML-L09) recover dual sim - General Questions and Answers

Hello!
I have a Huawei P20 bought from Orange, the problem is that orange changes the phone software to work only with one sim card even this model is dual sim, so is there anyway to get dual sim, I have seen older methods that require unlocked bootloader, but Huawei doesn't allow unlocking it now.
Thank you!

Activating second slot without unlocking the bootloader

I now that Chinese version of this phone is dual sim and global version, single sim, but i found that Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro global, are physicaly (hardware) dual sim (they have two sim slots), but with software (global ROM) limitation, to only one active slot? By unlocking the bootloader and flashing xiaomi.eu, or another custom ROM, the second sim slot can be activated!
My main question is: is it possible to activate the second sim slot, without unlocking the bootloader? For example: changing the region, or something else?

Chinese Redmi 6 not accepting SIM after changing from Global ROM

I had a chinese redmi 6 that had an unlocked bootloader and global ROM and it was using a Giffgaff SIM. Bootloader got locked and it bricked. Finally got it back on its feet again with a chinese ROM and want to unlock bootloader which requires a working sim. However the giffgaff SIM will no longer work, the phone recognises it and my phone number and all the network settings but wont use it.
Do i need a chinese sim?
Thanks!

Unlocking xiaomi bootloader with old SIM card?

Hello,
I got a new xiaomi poco and i'd like to unlock the bootloader. However a sim card is needed. I do have an old, deactivated sim card lying around. The phone does detect it but it doesn't recieve any signal and i can enter the xiaomi login menu (impossible without SIM). Has anyone tried unlocking the bootloader with such a card? Was it successful?
Thanks in advance

Is it a good idea to buy a demo model of 5 mark 2 in India?

so after being stuck with a Xiaomi phone and fed up with the stupid **** they broke on custom roms i was checking out some cheap replacement mobiles and surprisingly found a demo model of the 5 mark 2 on a second hand market for cheap, so my question is should i even consider buying it ? As i am fairly certain i am going to unlock the device and use lineage os 20 on it with safety net turned on! and has anyone had luck with 5g working the bands on the 5 mark 2 indicate it should work with most carriers here but i cant be too sure on it. And overall how has everything been with the device. Thnx in advance
you need to make sure you can unlock the bootloader first

All 5 mark 2 can't be unlocked ? Is there a repo or wiki from where i can get an idea in regards to the bootloader unlocking, as for 5g would it work ?
In your device, open the dialer and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
Tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.
For Japanese versions docomo etc you need to pay . Some carriers lock the phone
Here are the 5 ii variants
XQ-AS42 (Dual SIM) (Japan; SIM-unlocked)
XQ-AS52 (Dual SIM) (Europe)
XQ-AS62 (Dual SIM Unlocked) (North America)
XQ-AS72 (Dual SIM) (Asia outside Japan)
SO-52A (Single SIM) (Japan; NTT Docomo)
SOG02 (Single SIM) (Japan; au/Okinawa Cellular)
A002SO (Single SIM) (Japan; SoftBank)
I live in Europe and I have a As52 .5g works and by unlocking the bootloader with Qualcomm PDC program i have working volte and wifi calling (sony isn't supporting my mobile operator)

Ok i see, I don't have access to the device directly as I was checking it out in an online marketplace. Will ask if they are willing to do this for me. All the seller has described is it's a demo unit. So you are telling me 5g should work even in stock rom. But otherwise if it doesn't everything should be fine in a custom rom, am I right? Anywho thnx for the help. Any other tips i should look into?
Oh also i didn't notice I was quoting you, sorry for the bother!

Bro so can I unlock the bootloader of SO-52A via Qualcomm PDC program ?. Bro how did you enable the 5g option?
Follow the instructions and check if you can unlock via sony .your phone is a docomo version probably . As far as i know docomo cant be unlocked via sony.
You need to find someone who can unlock (payed services)

What about the 5g . I'm buying the docomo phone but it has global rom and it support volte as the buyer said , he didn't mentioned the 5g support
You need to check when you get the phone .if it has a global rom and global firmware,5g should work

Is it worth buying in 2023 ? .
Make sure battery is good .i bought mine 2 months ago second hand and have no issue . Had to activate volte wifi calling with root and Qualcomm PDC. Void rom works fine
If you have demo model or prototype one of 5 mark 2, unlock bootloader and root then use partition backup and restore app, backup all bootloader related partition and upload it here. it may helps some user with bootloader unlock allowed no can unlock bootloader of their phone

Not all devices had that issue , I went to the local dealer to check out the devices they were physically new ( looked to me ) , my only concerns were about the software compatibility , activation and battery .
I'll attach the pics of the piece they showed me , Japanese unit SOG02.
Hi,
I recenly bought the Xperia 5ii ( SO A52) version which is a Docomo NTT Japanese model. ( bootloader locked /netwok unlocked )
This is a single sim version and haven't checked the 5G network yet. However, so far so good. everything works fine. The battery life is good.
I must say there are some preinstalled Docomo apps which can not uninstall normally. So I had to follow the ADB method suggested by this youtube video.
The only problem with this unit is I can not flash custom ROM or global ROM because of the possibility of bootloop or hard brick. So I have to stuck on A12 stock ROM. Furthermore, I was not able to find a stable GCAM version for this model. Each pp has its unique bug for this model.
Finally, I have to say that I am satisfied with this model and recommended to buy. cheers !
