Hello. I recently got a Pixel 4a and have been trying to unlock bootloader and install Magisk to no avail. I can't even toggle the OEM unlocking option. As far as i know the Verizon version might be impossible to unlock bootloader. But i have no idea if my device is Verizon or not. After checking the device's cid adb return 000000. Am i out of luck here or is there something can be done? Thanks

OEM unlocking of Pixel phones requires internet access.
In my case trying to do OEM unlocking without internet access was the reason for the same greyed out button.
Did you setup internet access and restart the phone afterwards?
If yes, then I am out of ideas.

OEM Unlocking Unavailable

Enabled developers options, enabled USB debugging and OEM unlocking is unavailable. Does it have something to do with the recent OTA updates or is it just something I missed.??

If you are on Verizon, maybe. If you have not taken the OTA they released this week you can unlock with depixel8. Search the Pixel forum for how. If you are on Verizon and took the OTA you are locked until if/when another method is found......

If you are in the verizon version and didn't unlock bootloader previously, and applied the OTA directly before reading the warnings, you may have stranded yourself. It was mentioned the new OTA closes the exploit that diepixel8 used.

If there is something you need, you sound like the perfect guy for it.
I actually need to root this device ? so does anyone know how to?
Unlock bootloader get recovery you'll probably need to build that yourself would be a start.....
Nothing can be done without base software...
Unfortunately
The device is not bootloader unlocked in any way. Of course, it can be opened by dangerous or expensive ways such as boxes and test points. That's why we couldn't start improvements.

Bootloader can be unlocked from developer options.

Flash Fastboot without unlocking Bootloader?

Hey, I am using Redmi 4 prime. I wanted to unlock my Bootloader. But Mi unlocker and adb says it's locked. So I want to flash the fastboot rom to fix it. Any suggestion?

Screenshot provided shows phone's bootloader is unlocked.
FYI: Fastboot is integral part of phone's bootloader, hence you must flash nothing to have it working.

It's actually not unlocked. It only shows it's unlocked. It's like a fake rom problem

Question Can't unlock bootloader and flash TWRP on Samsung Galaxy A12.

Hello, everyone.
Today I'm trying to root my phone, but I am not succeeding to do it because I can't unlock the bootloader and flash TWRP.
Currently, on the developer options, I've activated and grayed out OEM unlocking, and also I have unlocked the bootloader on the download mode.
Is there any reason why can't I unlock the bootloader, and why is this happening?
