Flashing Instruction
Always Have a full functional Backup. Just in case!
First time installing crDroid to your Redmi Note 4, or coming from another ROM:
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery ( TWRP)
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
8) Flash gapps
9) Boot up
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.
You need to flash GApps every-time you flash the ROM.
Don't expect any support if you:
- are not running the included kernel
- have installed any mods such as Xposed!
- have modified system files

Very good ROM! Best 8.1 i've tried! Every thing works fine for me. Root with magisk, instal viperfx... UI is really good (I love the wite and blue style!) thank you very mutch!

Nice to see crdroid oreo. Lots of bugs as expected since this is a beta -
1. No settings for hardware button
2. Phone bootloops if you edit QS tiles.
3. Faced 1 network reset.
Excited to see this ROM being maintained as well as the Nougat build!

bro please understand the things. u have encrypted ur phone, thats why it is asking password for every boot. the only fix is to completely format ur device. and to avoid encryption in future always make sure that u r not setting password at the setup wizard time.
make sure u transfered the necessary files to an external drive before going for complete format.

Clean flash instructions ​
Download my twrp image from download section
Download rom.zip
Download gapps.zip
fastboot flash recovery nameofthetwrp.img
fastboot boot nameofthetwrp.img
Now copy nameofthetwrp.img in to internal storage and select install , select install image , select nameofthetwrp.img and select recovery swipe to flash
Flash magisk.zip for twrp permenent
Now press reboot and press recovery.( Now you will boot in to twrp again with permenent )
Click on wipe
Select format data
Type yes & press reboot and press recovery
Now you will boot in to twrp and select wipe , select advance wipe & select all except sdcard and swipe to wipe ( for clean flash )

Rename the Magisk.apk you downloaded from Github to Magisk.zip, and then flash it in recovery.
You can install it with this procedure, but it is not recommended for the latest Magisk...

i think the problem is recovery cant decrypt files and i dont have access to sdcard. Recovery does not require PIN/password to decrypt so i cant type this

It has more or less enough customisation for now.

Can I transition from Evolution X A11 direclty (with all the system/data wipes) or do I need to flash firmware A11 first?

So far everything seems smooth and no apparent bugs.
One thing tho, how can I disable the weather showing on lock screen?

First time installation:
you CAN NOT INSTALL this ROM using TWRP.
You need to use the Official Lineage recovery provided by Linux4 (link in downloads section)
Installing Lineage Recovey (BL already unlocked):
Odin:
Rename the downloaded .img to recovery.img and add it to a .tar archive using, for example, 7Zip
Flash the resulting .tar file in Odin
Installing The ROM From Lineage Recovery:
Lineage recovery - Factory reset > Factory reset & reset system partitions
make sure that all your zip ready for install via OTG/SD card/ADB
Lineage recovery - Apply update > Choose from sdcard > select the rom and install it
Install magisk .zip (change magisk.apk to magisk.zip if you installing via SD card/OTG)
Reboot to system!

i strongly recommend a clean flash as it is a new android version, a rebased source, official build and OTA supported now.

Gcam Go was something temporary I put on, I just put it to remove snap camera and keep more pixel as possible, I'll probably change the camera app to something like ZGCAM.

Enter fastboot.
Flash crDroid recovery in both slots:

Do factory reset (This will delete all files in your device! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED)

You'll see process stuck on 47%, Don't worry you'll get Success message just wait.

Reboot into recovery again to change slot.
Apply update -> Apply from ADB
Now sideload GApps.zip and/or latest Magisk.apk
Reboot into system.
Install Magisk.apk to gain Magisk app and root access.

Now install crDroid_ROM.zip via sideload:

No. I'll be keeping it stock for stability. You can install whatever you like after installing the ROM. I prefer GCam anyway.

Okay thanks! Last one , can we have this in the future builds ? This is from the cdroid for poco x3 pro, some apps like wild rift forcing the 90hz refresh rate even with the auto refresh rate setting (60-90hz enabled) resulting a choppy performance in games .

The latest release is very good. But my fod messed up..did I do something wrong? Anyone can confirm this?

All major functions seem to be working well, thanks so much! FOD is working for me. Haptic strength adjustment doesn't seem to do anything though, it just reverts back to strong if I change it to anything else.

I partly take back what I said; FOD mostly works, but every so often it seems to not register/unlock and I have to use PIN. But I also had that issue with CrDroid 7 (A11).

does anyone know why hey google keeps disabling itself? i tried nikgapps and mindthegapps and flashed them over and over again but could get it to work its driving me insane pls help
