Will it work if I flash it directly on TWRP?
-Save MIUI 12 to internal storage
-Boot to recovery
-Flash MIUI
-Format Data
-Reboot

1. Probably a fake Xiaomi rom installed from the seller
2. It shouldn't be
3. Pay attention to original rom from Xiaomi, as now the dev rom lock your boatloader, in future stable rom could lock it too.
My advice is to install a custom recovery ( TWRP ), then if you like the miui system you can flash sMiui or Xiaomi.eu rom, otherwise give a try to cyanogen mod.
You can find all info in various thread scattered over the Mi 4c section.
Thanks for the answer.
I searched to information how I can flash TWRP, but I cant find anywhere clean information.
Do you want give me link please?
1. ROM from Xiaomi, but seller modified it....
2. No Root
3. The Best way is stay away from xiaomi official ROM
Another advise... Download Official Xiaomi Fasboot ROM and fastboot tool ...and keep it...for just in case if u want to back stock rom / official rom and sell it......
Install custom recovery TWRP ( Team Superluminal "Cyanogen ROM" or Cofface "Miui ROM") , then flash unofficial MIUI Rom ( sMiui or xiaomi.eu ) or Rom from team Superluminal...enjoy ur great device
custom recovery
how to install just search...

Its link what i am using to flash
- download "Download TWRP recovery"....extract it, delete or move 'recovery.img' inside folder.....
- download another recovery (link in my post before) and move .img file in folder u download before ( if name of file blablabla.img, rename to recovery.img )
- make sure ur phone enable usb debugging , go to setting - about phone - see build number and tap several times to enable developer mode...and go to extra setting u will see developer option there and enable usb debugging
- the rest u can check the link...good luck
Hi again!
I have many problems with usb drivers, flash recovery, flash stock miui rom...
Its was very easy with nexus 4. Just typing "flash all.bat" and DONE! 100% clean install.
Now what I did:
- Downloading official stock rom from en.miui.com
- Updated/Flashed via updater app
- Back to recovery, wipe all data.
Everyting going way, except for the apps come with stock miui.
Is this actually a 'clean install'?

Hello, yes this can be called a clean install...
if you want to get rid of the chinese apps just flash twrp and a custom rom:
1) download TWRP from here https://mega.nz/#!kM02hYKa!YOgKkCtRu-7wQT8JK4naRMPRExwpwKF0_vAVa4nwIqo
2) reboot your phone in fastboot then from cmd "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", power off and boot directly into recovery
3) download a custom miui from http://www.smiui.net/mi4c_libra.php or http://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/miui-weekly-rom-releases.103/
4) wipe all and flash the rom you choose
5) enjoy!
But if I flash twrp recovery, I can install official updates from miui?

There is no need of official update, future update from Xiaomi will lock your boatloader... Xiaomi.eu take the official update every week and release their version rapidly, after optimizing and removing Chinese apps...

Hi, I've received my device but went with 7070 rom stock stable and updated to the last one stable, how do I know if the bootloader is unlock or not?? Thanks

My Phone cannot be flashed into any ROM except the original MIUI

I want to flash an RR into my Mi 4C. So I unlocked my bootloader by registering in Mi.com.
Firstly I flashed in a TWRP Rec
Code:
fastboot flash recovery ..../twrp.img
fastboot boot twrp.img
And successfully boot into rec.
Then I tried to install the ROM. After flashing it stuck on the Mi Logo every time.
Tried sideload and "install" by the TWRP but didn't work.
You can simply check your bootloader status by

TWRP selection is related to Android version? Could you please explain a little? When I was flashing my Nexus 6P I've never considered about Android version

After you flashed Nougat based Xiaomi rom, you can't boot on the older version of TWRP.
There is a new TWRP for nougat rom.
If you already flashed Nougat based Xiaomi rom, use the new version. You can find it in here https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/7-2-16-17.38651/

Nothing ever changed
I used this TWRP before.I flashed it in, boot the recovery, flashed in my ROM, checked clear Dalvik cache, pressed Reboot System.
The screen goes dark and never turned on. Press the power button only to realize it Reboot into bootloader.
Every time I reboot it reboot in Bootloader.
Plus I do a FULL wipe every time I flash in and did not work ?
UPDATE!! I flashed in a ROM in XIAOMI.EU and succeed.But why ???
Still failed in flashing in other ROMs

xiaomi.eu provides a modded MIUI. Maybe it's unofficial.
I got a weekly-update version and flashed it in and succeed.
It is MIUI 8

try this.
flash this http://bigota.d.miui.com/6.1.7/libra_images_6.1.7_20151221.0000.11_5.1_cn_b09dac70a0.tgz with MiFlash
then connect to fastboot & fastboot oem unlock
now flash TWRP for 5.1 rom https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24421527759888487
boot into TWRP & install any other rom.
for nougat based xiaomi.eu rom, read their introductions carefully https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/7-2-16-17.38651/ Don't flash TWRP for nougat rom if you still in 5.1 ( TWRP for nougat https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767135741 )

Are you coming with stock ROM? If you are, just simply format data in twrp and then install you will be fine.

forgot to update but it's all fine now, simply formatting data didn't help me back then.
what i did:
- flash miui 9 global rom fastboot
- flash twrp via adb
- format system, cache etc without formatting internal storage
- flash custom rom

Flash stock rom via fastboot, then boot up TWRP (don't install it), flash P beta (official one not the GSI), reboot to stock recovery, wipe data, reboot to system, if it is working you can now flash TWRP and magisk and whatever you want
EDIT: i was forgotting, REMEMBER to BACKUP your data before flash via fastboot

How can I go back to MIUI 12, use a Custom Rom, and want to flash MIUI through TWRP without losing the Bootloader unlock?

Just download any stock recovery ROM you wanna use and flash it in TWRP, format data and that's all.....or you can download any fastboot stock ROM and flash it using MiFlash tool ("clean all" option checked.....be careful, the "clean all and lock" is checked by default, so if you wanna keep you bootloader unlocked you have to change it).
