im uploading it to my 4shared now but im on balls slow dsl.
i just extracted it, boot/wimax/radio are the exact same as ota (as to be expected)
i also compared it to the system dump i created myself from OTA and all is identical, damagecontrol for sure is 100% on latest files.

It's a official ruu.exe file from HTC no it does not come rooted it has to be unpacked Su files have to be added zipped and signed to flash in recovery.

Of course damage control was proper other roms just were lazzzzzy "waiting for ruu" lulz

I never saw him menton the DC devs once in his reason for not doing it. He simply stated why HE chooses to wait.
I have been getting asked a lot when I'll integrate the new OTA update. I don't plan on including it until an RUU for it leaks out because it's a much better way to get files than to copy off patched ones. With that said Sprint pulled the update anyways due to it bricking people's phones. Haha. So just be patient and I'll update once it's out. Here's an analogy for you. You install Windows on a computer and then do all the windows updates. You then hunt down the random files that have changed and pull them off that computer, and just copy them over to another computer that hasn't had windows updates done, in an attempt to update it. While that may end up working, it is not nearly as clean as just getting an updated copy of windows that already has the updates on it and reinstalling it. THAT is why I don't plan on putting the OTA in until I have an RUU for it.

a) I never said a single thing about DC. Care to point me to where I said anything???
b) Care to show me how many people have non-working wimax due to rushing to use things before they knew what they did? Let me know if you need me to point you towards the countless threads about it.
c) Can you show me your rom?
d) Maybe you didn't realize that this RUU has a newer radio than the one that was released in the OTA? As well as other files.
e) Keep it out of this thread. PM me if you have a problem with me waiting until Sprint officially released this update in RUU form as opposed to an OTA that was bricking peoples phones. Thanks.

[WORK IN PROGRESS] Unlocking Motorola Defy Mini XT320 and Fire XT530 bootloader

I've recently read on how Dan Rosenberg unlocked the bootloader on Motorola Phones with Qualcomm chipsets. I'm pretty sure this exploit exists in the Motorola Fire XT530 and Motorola Defy Mini XT320.

Chipset Specification:
Motorola Fire XT530- Qualcomm MSM7227-T, 800MHz ARM11, Adreno 200 GPU
Motorola Defy Mini XT320- Qualcomm MSM7225A-1, 600MHz ARM Cortex-A5, Adreno 200 enhanced GPU
I have decided to combine the unlocking of Motorola Fire XT530 and Motorola Defy Mini XT320 bootloaders in one place as there are more experienced developers in C++ in Motorola Fire XT530 users than the Defy Mini XT320 users so we can help each other.
I've done the initial work of dumping appsbootsec.mbn from the Motorola Fire XT530 sbf and the Motorola Defy Mini XT320 sbf.
Now it requires the work of using Interactive Disassembler to locate the QFuse addresses but unfortunately I don't know how to use it so I can't disassemble appsbootsec.mbn
@djrbliss if you have time to read this thread and help us users to try and use Interactive Disassembler, this would be greatly appreciated.

All these sbf files have fastboot support.
At the bottom, I have attached appsbootsec.mbn from the prerequisite phones.
Guys please don't ask for an ETA or when the bootloader is going to be unlocked as this depends on time.

Hmmm... watched the mbns - i see no messages like mentiond in the blogpost. Also the string "get_unlock_data" is not found.
So I think the method posted in the blog only works on phones with the option to unlock the bootloader via some token, as the hack hooks into the function to check the validity of the token and then always returns true.
Maybe i'm wrong (hope so).

I used a normal hex-viewer, as most of the user-messages and parameters are visible in plain text.
Also issuing a " fastboot oem unlock" on defy mini does not lead to any result.

Is this a way to install a other Android?

It says 'unknown oem command' making me believe that it was disabled. I will see how Guitwo2 go with it before declaring the project abandoned.

some ideas for custom kernel/recovery
Hi all!
After some digging in xt320's bootloader binary, i found out that our phone uses (L)ittle (K)ernel bootloader (aka LK bootloader). And after some googleing i found 2 vulnerabilities for this bootloader that i believe still exists in our defy minis (defy mini is pre-2014 phone).
first one is this one

it's not a bootloader unlock, but it is about boot/recovery image signature forge (signing boot/kernel/receovery image so bootloader accepts it). it's already used on Kindle Fire HDX and there is a tool that signs boot and recovery image for Kindle Fire HDX. h**p://www.xda-developers.com/signing-tool-for-kindle-fire-hdx-hacks-bootloader/
Also, there is one more exploit, but i didn't find many information on it - CVE-2014-0974

if i understand correctly, when bootloader loads image header into RAM to verify signature, it can be manipulated to load into bootloader's memory where motorola certificate/signature is located and overwrite it so it appears to bootloader that boot image signature and bootloaders "new" signature are correct.
With these exploits there is no need to unlock bootloader to have custom kernel and recovery flashed on phone.
If anyone has knowledge and time to investigate this, it would be very nice..i think the first way of forging signature is easyer and the tool they made for kindle fire is easily adapted to sign defy mini's images.

small update:
finally got some time to test application from this link - cuber - h**ps://github.com/dpeddi/Cuber on @rootdefyxt320 's kernel..after signing the boot.img, it can be succesfully flashed with fastboot, but it ends in brick (recoverable with rsd-lite)...

you cant do it here. this is development forums, no cracking/pirating software allowed here. and secondly, most of these box were against XDA rule, they didnt support open source ( they charge for the support) and usually using illegal method that why those box able to bypass frp, write directly to the bootloader, repartition whole emmc, but you dont know how these things work. they even stole many things from here, like feature to unlock bootloader, adding custom recovery, SuperSU, without proper credits to original devs.

Exactly. I was even thinking of starting to do a rom, but in the long run I knew I would of been taking ideas from here and there to get it accomplished and I didn't think that was cool, so outta respect I didn't bother.

No clue where you got this, but thats a preproduction model, running pre-release software (v08d, first release software is atleasz v10a). And all released builds are "user builds", you have a "userdebug" build (like nearly all custom roms), which just enabled a bit more debugging options, and less strict stuff during compilation.
You could theoretically try to flash an up-to-date kdz for the V500EM with LG UP, but seeing an userdebug software... thats really rare that they "get out into the public".
Edit: Im wondering though if youre elligable for the official bootloader unlock... Idk if preproduction models are whitelisted there.

2) a friend of mine in something similar to junkyard along with many other lg devices

Maybe this could be a way for us to find a way to flash \ reverse engineer something for bootloader access.

Just be patient markus is a good dev he's helping us

What do you mean by edl cable? If you are referring to a deep flash cable, you can easily make one by soldering a switch to the data+ and ground wires of the usb type c cable.

Hell yeah! This is great news. If you don't mind and you need the help. When you guys get around to it send me a message and I might be able to assist you somewhat with files. Provided things go right in my area. If you also need some phones to look into I have a couple extra v60 but they are the demo. I'm not sure what I'll limitations just yet. However it would be nice to figure these all out and anything else on the demo just to make it public to everyone so that those that might have one to use for a Wi-Fi to device are not limited of course. And much more.

You're right. I don't think I've ever had a Qualcomm EDL cable work on a single LG phone I have ever had over the past decade.

Miracle box makes a decent edl cable, and there are others to search eBay or go to GSM forum and ask there. They will recommend some great ones.
