Micro SD card and increase internal storage? - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Questions & Answers

Hello. I'm thinking to buy Micro SD card. Sandisk Extreme Pro. My idea is to increase internal storage. I know since Android v6.x is/was possible to move apps to sd card or make it as internal storage. I never tried and used this way on Samsung phone. So I have some questions. How or is it possible to use micro sd card as internal storage. How quick opening, rinning, working applications. And last question what is max video recording settings to work smoothly with micro sd card. Unfortunately Note 20 Ultra 128Gb storage not enought.

You should have plenty of room for a normal load...
You don't want to run apps from the SD card vs internal memory.
The bridge and memory of the SD card are much slower than internal.
It's purpose is as a data drive.
You want the SD card isolated from internal memory.
Move all critical data to the data drive. Put everything up need to do a factory reload here as well including copies of apps and backup settings. Back this drive up redundantly to at least 2 hdds that are physically and electronically isolated from each other!
The OS, apps, the temporary photo and download folders go on the internal memory. Keep this drive as small as possible.
Use a V30 or higher card, vids run fine from it. The Lexar .5tb V30 goes for about $75 and it's good to go out of the box. Format in phone before use.
This is how my 10+ is set up. Using about 60gb of the internal and 340gb of the card. It runs fast and stable.

[q] memory card

Lumia 820 internal memory capacity is full. But i have 64 gb capacity in memory card. Phone İs not lookİng the memory card hot swap. What is your advice?
Apps are not currently able to be installed to the SD card. Only media. Check your settings to see if pictures, videos and music are set to be stored there. You may have to plug your phone into your computer and transfer these things yourself.
Also, if your phone has the most recent update, you can use the storage check app to delete temporary files. You can also use it to transfer your maps for HERE Drive to SD.

SD card apps lag

So I've been having issues with my apps if I put them on the SD card. if I put them on the SD card they get horrible slow and laggy. Facebook for example can hang for minutes before loading what I clicked giving messages that the app is hanging and if I want to close it.
currently I'm running the Concept firmware , but even with that the Z3 runs out of internal memory very fast. and with some apps (groove) not allowing you to store data on the SD card, it gets a lot worse, making them unusable. After I installed the concept firmware I did reinsert the SD card and chose to format it so it's supposed to be an extension of the internal memory but it also doesn't seem to really work :/
Anyway right now I believe I'm running a sandisk card of some type, probably C10 if I remember right(can't really remove it right now). Is it the type/class of card that makes it work so slow on the phone ? is there some other preferred type and class of SD card that doesn't cause this serious app lag, and is there a way to then set it up so that apps that store large data and don't have a setting for SD card will still store on SD or to unify internal and SD storage as one ?
I believe it's the card. even the class 10 cards are horribly slow for use as system storage. install a sdcard speed test app and test both internal storage vs sdcard read/write speeds. And you will be shocked.
I Use Samsung pro 64gb card. And I was able to use it as system storage on concept rom. It has 90/80 read/write (*rated) speeds. And it works fine on my z3.

whatsapp media not storing in sd card even after formatting it as internal storage

i brought a class 10 32 GB samsung sd card and formatted it as internal storage but still the sd card was visible in my computer when connected and the whatsapp data was not moved to the sd card. any solution?
Try formatting it to Portable and then internal again. Then go into internal storage and tap the options menu (aka Burger Menu) and then select Migrate Data. It will now migrate all the data from your Internal Storage to the SD Card. It will also then store stuff automatically to the SD Card. Well at least that worked for me, I couldn't seem to store pictures and videos taken with the camera to the SD card. I hope it works for you too

Micro sd card keeps unmouting (original shield, MM6)

Hello,
I've a µsd card (Samsung Evo 128GB, formatted as adapted storage+external SD).
On my pyrotab running MM6, it randomly unmounts the external SD (transport endpoint is not connected in the log).
Pretty annoying. For a few weeks the problem was less frequent (usually on the second reboot the sdcard is ok), but now, the card disappears after a few minutes, not enough time to perform a Titanium backup :/
Anyone else experiences this ?
Any hint ?
Adapted storage. That is never a good idea for multiple reasons. Once the SD chip corrupts all your data is lost. Moreover, it can slowdown performance.
You could try to clone the SD card on a PC, I'd say. If it works, backup all your data and forget about adapted storage.

Yes, that was my idea and use Link2SD/Apps2SD to move app and data to external storage.
But any hint on the SD unmounting issue ? I fear I'll have the same problem, as it's the FAT partition that gets unmounted, not the adapted one.
Multiple partitions on one SD card? Or two SD cards? If so, via otg?
In general, you cannot remove the adapted storage SD card! It will compromise the system.

SD Card formatted as internal memory

I really don't recommend that to anyone, (on every phone available)
it really slows down phone. (this phone has 300/100 read/write)
And if you don't have such sd card don't format it as internal memory,
just as SD card for multi-use.
I tried with 100/40 or something SD card,
and it felt like s...
Yes, I can confirm that! My old Phone had only 16GB of internal memory, so I thought that it would be nice if I format my Class10-SD-Card as internal memory.
But it was a mistake, because it slows down the phone so much...
Also if you have a very fast SD-Card - it will not work and slow down your phone...
I've always been using microSD on my smartphones as an internal memory and have no speed issues.
It is also advisable to move all apps to the internal memory and to use the "external" internal memory only when the internal memory is full.
When the microSD is formatted as internal memory, the transfer rate drops because the microSD is encrypted (AES-128).
However, this is hardly noticeable in practice.
let alone that: The advertised microSD speeds are rarely achieved in practice.
I have more problems with a portable formatted microSD.
There are e.g. Access problems with third-party apps or file managers.
