Hi all
Need some input, I have a Google Pixel 4 XL, for over an year now, and have had face unlock workin all the time, this morning it started not unlocking, so I went ahead and erased my face data, and wanted to enroll again. everytime I try, it just times out, even in the simpel mode, what can be the problem... I did a full factory reset, and tried again but same result, I even tried in safe mode also, same result.
No need to say, the phone have no damaged, and have never been dropped.
I also have NOT any root access
Hello, I have exactly the same problem. I've tried many things and it doesn't work.

Hi all, I come to you all in this time of great need. I have in my possession a LG Optimus Net or LGL45C as its know technically.
I started to suffer from problems from gapps resulting from uninstalling the Google Talk app(yes doing this in retrospect was incredibly stupid). After failing to resolve my problem when trying to re-install it, I decided to take the easy way and just do a factory reset and start from scratch. Little did I know what was to meet me. I was given the "Touch to the android to begin" screen like so many others, but it was not meant to be that simple. I would touch the android, and it would light gleefully but it would not reveal to me the next step and sit there motionless. So I proceeded to the next logical step, touching each corner in succession to skip the setup process. But no matter how many times I repeated it, nothing came of it. Next I booted into recovery mode(stock I never bothered to install CWM, another one of my mistakes) and did another factory reset, clear cache, etc. This too did not work. And I thought, there was always installing CWM through ADB where then I can then just flash to a stock ROM I downloaded. But Alas!! USB debugging some how got disabled and it was all fruitless. A little google-fu later I came across a method to flash .kdz using obscure LG utilities. With renewed hope I followed the steps but to no avail. Now I come to you stranger, and plead you in somehow help me in recovering some use of this phone. I have exhausted all my options and I hope someone out there read this and comes in my time of need. Sorry for the long block of text :silly::silly::silly::silly:
Having the same problem as you, bookface.
I couldn't install CWM from the links provided in another post, all lead to a 404 Dropbox page. This sucks. And when I tried to use the installer from Play, I got a dialog saying it's not compatible. Some would say to ignore it, it would be fine...
But if something doesn't feel right, don't do it, I've always been told...
So, I was rooted, but phone started acting funny. Done a factory reset. Since I didn't have CWM, I thought it would clear that mess up.
Nope, almost all apps crash. I'm lucky that at least the browser, Gmail, and music apps work, but everything else, including Google Play Store, all crash upon launch.
Net10's forum is a lame excuse as a "forum." Seems like TracFone employees have NO concept of how a forum works. I looked at there for the same issue, and they rather take software/hardware issues to private messages?
I have NO computer, my hubby's friend who helps him says "You have an Android tablet, that is a computer!" Technically, yes and no. Since I can't root that thing, it's useless. (If you want to know, Polaroid PMID709 4.1 with Rockchip RK29xx, and impossible to root fully, it's "semi-rooted".)
And I'm lost. I and my hubby need this phone to work. Because we need it fpr work (our jobs). And I'm getting sick of TracFone screwing up Android ROMs.
Please help!
youve made much more headway than i. trying to help my neighbor with his. he set a lockscreen password on his lgl34c and then promptly forgot it.
so upon a bit of research, this model is a doozie to work with. i had intended to overdeliver by flashing him a ROM that might allow some hotspotting and the like. upon closer inspection, i dont believe that i will be able to do that. at best a towelroot...
but ONLY IF i can get past this lockscreen. i've tried to factory reset by:
1) removing/replacing battery then holding vol down+power and waiting for LG splashscreen then releasing power (still holding vol down ) and then re-pressing(holding) power again
2) turning phone off and holding home+vol up+power and holding 30-40 sec
ive repeated both methods many many times, and these are the only methods that i have seen described in my google searching. in fact, yours is the most advanced post i have found yet.
how can i factory reset this phone without access to the settings menu?
hi
yesterday i had faced very weird problem with nexus 5 (rooted with CF-Auto root).. it got locked on me.
What happened was i installed swiftkey on my nexus 5. I had to go out and battery was low so I turned off mobile data and kept it for charging. I dont really lock my nexus when I am at home but whenever I go out I set up PIN for security and its been the same 4 digits number since my first android cell. So this time I went into settings=>Security and set it up. The only change was that instead of usual keyboard, swiftkey opened. So I inserted the number twice.. Nothing weird so far.. right ?...
Well, what happened after that was weird.. I couldnt unlock my nexus. No matter how many time I tried I couldnt unlock it. I can swear that I inserted my usual PIN but it wouldnt unlock. Then I started panicking. After few unsuccessful attempts the usual prompt came so I waited 30 secs and tried again. But no avail. So there was no option but to recover password via gmail, right ? well I wasnt that lucky.. I tried wrong pin for more than 50 times but "forgot password" prompt wouldnt come. (i hadnt taken nandroid backup for last 2 months so i started getting mini heart attacks ) then I tried 40-50 times more.. restarted my cell 3-4 times.. neither would it get locked not it would give me alternate method of unlocking.. thats stupid right ?? :silly:
I couldnt do anything. I checked online and found out that KITKAT DOESNT HAVE ALTERNATIVE OPTION of locking (or unlocking for that matter). Since my mobile data was off (I dont have wifi) I couldnt lock and unlock it using Android Device Manager (ADM) as well. So I was royally screwed ... and only apparent way out would entail data loss :crying:
I could just use camera and nothing else.
So I slept badly thinking that I would factory reset my nexus the next day. And in the morning it suddenly hit me :good:. I had also installed Floating Toucher app yesterday and I could see the floater even on my camera app. So I touched that.. opened quick launch and enabled mobile data. Then went on and locked my nexus using ADM and then I could unlock it with new password. phew...
so it was in all weirdest experience.
Now here are my findings
1) KitKat doesnt have alternative unlocking method
2) Nor does it lock your cell permanently. I mean you could try all permutations and combinations till you unlock it. (my ancient nokia would lock after few wrong tries..) and thats serious flow in system
3) Swiftkey may have screwed me over.
4) Floating Toucher (though proved as my saviour) could bypass system lock and thus one could use (or misuse) it.
Any thoughts on these people ??
Sorry for looooooong post
and sorry for toooooooo long post. I couldnt wrap it up without telling everything.
Hi all. 1st post here.
I've been having a lot of trouble with my Galaxy Tab 2 lately. I rooted it a long time ago. Never had trouble with it. A few days ago, after charging it, I tried to start it, but when it starter, after a minute or so, it restarted. Normally the tablet only did that when it was froze due to many apps or processes being used at the same time. The problem is that the tablet never started properly after that one time. It's on some type of infinite loop. It starts, stays on for 1 or 2 minutes and then freezes and restarts. Well, i thought what most people would think at the moment: "I need to reset the tablet". I went to Recovery mod, made the format, but when the tablet rebooted, everything was untouched. No format. Odd to me. I then tried to return to stock. If it after that the problem was still there, at least I could be able to call for warranty. Odin gave me a lot of failed errors when I was trying but there was once that it said "Pass". Rebooted, still the same. Updated the recovery, tried to format, still the same. I'm running out of options right now. I don't really know what can be the problem and how can I fix it. I thought that if there was a way to format it like in recovery but using my PC it would do something (or not)
I appreciate any type of help.
XT1080 Maxx - no recovery, no factory, and no USB connection to PC
I am trying to fix my brother's XT1080 Maxx, or at least get his photos off of it. This phone is stock, as my bro is not tech savvy at all.
He went to bed one night. I am not sure if the phone tried installing an update while unplugged or what happened, but when he woke up in the morning and tried turning it on, it stuck on the droid eye screen. He tried rebooting a few times and was finally able to get to the unlock screen, but once unlocked, everything crashed, like motolauncher, gapps, acore, media, etc.
We took it to several Verizon retailers, some official stores and some authorized retailers. Everyone said they could not help.
At this point, he gave it to me to work with. I tried recovery from fastboot, but it says boot failed. After lots of turning on and off, I was able to get to the unlock screen. After pushing OK to the millions of crashes, I was able to get to the settings screen. I tried everything from clearing cache to factory resetting within the settings. Nothing would work. Anything to do with data would bring up a .media crash. The best I got was turning on the Bluetooth, but nothing useful can be done with it. I also tried NFC, but could never complete a transfer, which didn't matter because I could not get to his gallery anyway. I booted in safe mode a few times and always got the same results.
I tried every option possible to connect the phone to my computer. The USB never did a thing, no matter what driver I tried using. I downloaded all kinds of programs from these forums. The computer would not recognize it in fastboot either.
I told my bro he was screwed and tried a fastboot factory reset. All it does is boot the phone in the normal way, which either sticks on the droid eye or finally makes it to the unlock screen. At this point, I am raging mad.
I decided to disassemble the phone to see if removing the battery would somehow magically allow me to connect it to the computer. I currently have just the board and battery connected to a PC. I had a fastboot driver to come up for a split second, but I have no idea how or why. I am not sure if I bent the board just right, which allowed a contact to be made, but I have not been able to replicate it.
Does anyone have any ideas? The phone is screwed for sure, so if there is anything extreme I can do to save his pictures, I will do it. Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone,
My device hard reset itself without any reason. I was walking outside and listened to a podcast through headphones when suddenly sound stopped. When I pull the phone out of the pocket I saw recovery screen “Low-level factory reset” and after a while, everything I had had on the phone before was just gone. I don’t remember that any other piece of human engineering made me so upset.
So, I didn’t touch my phone and it was offline (data disabled and no wifi around). It had MHA-L29C567B167 firmware and was rooted by this guide and then TWRP was replaced by the standard recovery (which probably made this hard reset possible). I haven’t done anything system related with the phone during last several weeks.
Did anyone else have the same problem? Do you have any ideas why the phone did it?
I had the same reset, when backup password on lockscreen (normally fingerprint) was filled in wrongly about nine times in succession.
Rogue app running as root? *shrug*
So frustrating
I had the same issue sooooo many times... The only way I found to stop this is to remove the password... I do open apps and all whilst the phone in my pocket... But at least it doesn't factory reset!!!!
so it happens after you input incorrect passwords after x amount of times?
Yes. After nine or ten times a wrong password, it did the factory reset. It happened due to a connected Bluetooth keyboard that wasn't turned off with key pressed for a long time by accident.
To prevent this problem from happening again I left TWRP flashed to the recovery partition. Now if the system requests recovery to factory reset TWRP will just ignore it.
Also, I found out that having Microsoft Outlook installed makes the problem worse. It reduce the number of incorrect PIN enter attempts. E.g. despite the fact that it displays "You have 4 more attemps" the device tries to factory resset.
I have these hard reset on me 3 times over the last 7 months. And 2 of these times, were happened when I was oversea. All my data are gone after it reset, and what make it worst was that I was oversea, and the 1st restoration process asked for WIFI setup & connection. Common, you are a foreign land on roaming (even with data), they still insist you need a WIFI connection before the restoration can continue.... a very frustrated experience especially you are oversea, and it happened to me twice with the most recent case - 2 days ago.... So, how do I activate TWRP?
