Running Bliss 11.13 stable using integrated intel hd520 all seems pretty much fine except loss of touch screen on boot every now and then and the fact that games are running lowest specs by default and cannot be improved much.
I have tried forcing nouveau (boot with nvidia) flags but all I get is an out of sync garbled display. If I try to force nvidia boot flags accompanied with a resolution, ie 1920x1080 or 3000x2000 it boots fine and is no longer out if sync but just seems to have reverted to the integrated intel graphics and not the nvidia/nouveau.
Can Android x86 utilise the original surface book with the nvidia maxwell 940m gpu at all ?

There's some custom rom work also that i found here
GPS doesn't seem to work yet and so doesn't the bluetooth.
Just bought one from MP4nation, can't wait to get my hands on it. The resistive touchscreen looks surprisingly responsive, which I'm glad to see.
Hi Guys,
I love WP7 UI and i though i can install WP7 in Dell Streak 7 please can you tell me is it possible or is their any other ways to get WP7 UI in android 3.2
No way to install WP7 on Dell Streak. Buy Windows Phone device.
In theory any device that has the minimum hardware requirements can run wp7 since there are drivers created to support it. Ive included the ms wp7 min hardware specs that I grabbed from wiki.
the dell has a nvidia tegra2 cpu so I doubt it would even run if you were able load wp7 nto it.
As for a metro ui launcher replacement for android they had versions out before wp7 came out officially.
here is a link to the market place of one of them
https://market.android.com/details?id=chrisman.android.home.metroui.stable&hl=en
Hope this helps I actually just got a d streak 7 wifi unit and am enjoying it.
I believe win8 is being tested on Nvidia tegra cpu/gpu by ms so hopefully when its launched we will be able to dual load it with droid.

Hi
I'm thinking about if it would be possible to put any ARM Version of Windows Embedded 8 / Embedded Compact 2013 / Windows RT on my Galaxy Tab 2. I love Android, but sometimes i want to try something new and I know even when it's Windows it won't run normal Windows x86 Applications.
...The specs of the OMAP4430 Chipset:
Processor:
TI’s OMAP4430 applications processor (dual ARM® Cortex™-A9 cores running at 1 GHz each)
Graphics Accelerator – PowerVR SGX540 3D hardware accelerator
Video Performance – 720p stereoscopic 3D
Multimedia Accelerator – IVA 3 (1080p encode/decode)
Imaging Performance – 20 MP/s and 5 MP/s (dual cameras)
Memory:
up to 1 GB LPDDR2 RAM
Other I/O
1x USB 2.0 High-Speed Host
1x OTG
1x ULPI for connectivity to an external USB Phy
4x UARTS / 1 x RS-232
3x I2C / 1x I2S / 2x SPI
Operating Systems – Linux, Windows Embedded Compact 7, Android-ready
The Device itself has following specs:
PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
Size 800 x 1280 pixels, 10.1 inches (~149 ppi pixel density)
16 GB internal storage
1 GB LPDDR2 RAM
WiFi (can't find any infos about it)
I have access to Windows Embedded from Microsoft DreamSpark, but i think they're only the x86 versions. Are there any chances to get Windows running on this tablet or is this simply not possible because of the bootloader or other limitations (like partitions, drivers etc..)?
If Windows RT can run on an old HTC HD2, why not on a tablet with a bit better specifications? (yes, i know the HTC HD2 was a Windows Mobile Device

There is no possible way to install any version of Windows on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. Windows is not open-source and can not be manipulated in such a way so it can install on any Android based devices. If they were to open the source code, I'm sure within a week or two it would be available, but I'm afraid it's under the control of Microsoft for now.
Sorry..

Okay i understand
Then I'll have to keep this tablet with Android, but there are ARM-Versions of Ubuntu and other Linux Distributions, should be able to install this native to the flash storage without running android in foreground and connecting to the Linux using VNC, but the problem should be that i have to find drivers for every single device like WiFi, touchscreen, etc.
Hello
I recently purchased a Ramos X10F on an impulse buy on a trip to the PP last month. I had been waiting longer than a year for an 8" 4:3 device that was not Apple with expandable memory and this one just made me succumb. Also I fell for the false data in marketing it as a cortex A9 and I thought a quad core A9 should be faster than my dual core A9 in the n7000. Actually it is a A5 or A7 (device details in cpuz mention some A7 blah).
The device has great potential to be an ipad mini killer as the hardware fit and finish is very good, the screen is IPS and it weighs only 360 grams. I can hold it in one had lying in bed without tiring myself. However performance is marred by the stock android 4.1.1. Intially I thought it was slow nand flash as when I enabled cpu stats, the nand-rw-flash process appeared to be the top process for a longish time, each time it stalled. However I later discovered, the device is very laggy when Wifi is on while actual WiFi throughput is very good - I get almost full speed 16mbs in the speedtest.net results. Unfortunately even with entropy seeder and a deadline or noop scheduler, the lagginess is only partially improved. Also the old linux/android decision of using input to randomize and seed the entropy is only good for desktops not servers or touchpads. I have to tap a few times to get a app screen to respond inexplicably and suddenly and it shows that the OS was waiting on input. The device is best for streaming as typically once the app is opened I never have a problem with lag a it is typically 30 mins of iewing before switching apps. Otherwise the poor performance means a task that should take normal time (like reading news in the morning for 15 mins) takes more than twice the time as I have to struggle with the slow app launches and screen loading mostly. But if Wifi is switched off and content is cached, everything is smooth and much better. Battery life is decent with display brightness set around or below 10% typically.
So my recommendation for a new buyer is - dont buy until a custom ROM is made available. Dont fall for the x10pro video on the utube yet. Real world performance is not the same. Once the smoothness of the 4.4.3 is acheived it will be a killer product.
I would like to upgrade the android from its 4.1.1 to a 4.4.x version. Also this version is vulnerable to heartbleed and the openssl bug that came after that in June 2014. The omnirom 4.4.3 on my n7000 is really smooth and I am hoping somebody will develop a custom rom for this device.
But I dont see a custom ROM or CWM for this anywhere. I installed a CWM recovery for another ATM7029 device (yarvik) and it boots, but I forgot about the display driver compatibility and I can no longer view the menu in recovery mode. Otherwise rooted it and running ok.
The specifications of the device are as follows:
OS: Android 4.1.1
CPU: Quad Core ATM7029
GPU: Vivante GC1000
RAM 1GB,DDR3 --> False. Real RAM is 686MB.
Storage 8GB
Screen: Capacitive Touchscreen, 1024*768 Full resolution Screen
Size: 7.85 inch
Resolution: 1024*768 Pixels
Flash: Support Flash 11.0 and HTML 5
Extend Card Support TF card up to 32GB extended
Camera Dual Camera Front 2.0M,Back 5.0M
Gravity Sensor Yes
Multi-Touch Yes, 5 points touch
Android Market Yes
Skype Yes
Email and Browser: Yes, built in
WIFI: Yes, 802.11 b/g/n
3G : support external 3G dongle
OTG Function: Support USB Mouse,Keyboard (2.4GHz)
Support:FAT,FAT32,NTFS
Earphone Interface 3.5mm
Soft:Support TXT,Adobe PDF,Microsoft Office(Word,Excel,PPT)
Video 1080P, AVI/MOV/MP4/RMVB/FLV/MKV…
Music MP3/WMA/WAV/APE/AAC/FLAC/OGG
Ebook UMD, TXT, PDF, HTML, RTF, FB2…
Battery: 4000mAh
What do I need to submit for a developer to build a custom rom for this device? Some kind of dump? ALso need a recovery manager with the right display driver. Either TWRP or CWM.
I hope a developer will volunteer.
Thanks
