New to this community

I have Honor 8 FRD L02. It's been 3 year since I've been using it. I'm thinking of rooting it but don't how to do it. Please guide me to it .
Also, tell what is the best custom rom and kernels or any customisation that works best with it. I hope you guys will help me out as I don't know these stuffs and don't want to brick my device.

If you can unlock the bootloader, you can easily root your device using Magisk. There are abundant guides available here for that.
Custom ROMs, well since Oreo we have treble ROMs, Omni and Resurrection Remix. There are also a few for Nougat but they haven't been updated in ages.
For kernel, I maintain one for EMUI 8 only. You can check the ROMs and Kernel sub section for that.

It is definitely worth it! With unlocking bootloader and rooting you can bring your device back to life!
Idk if you noticed but huawei closed their bootloader code site so there is no official way to unlock your device, BUT you can buy 4 credits for DC unlocker for arround 4 euro/5 usd and get the unlock code easily for cheap. I did this and worked 100% fine. You can find tons of tutorials for honor 8 unlocking or if you want a full step by step tutorial how to do it, dm me on telegram.

Roms

Hi,
I want to get my bootloader unlocked for snapdragon version but I there are not many roms available.
I am looking for Lineage OS or Miuirom or pixel rom.
Any idea when we can get them.

Snapdragon can't be rooted past bootloader 2. As far as roms go, there are only stock roms, but somewhere on the forum its mentioned about GSI roms, but VOLTE is broken because its always been a samsung issue and not much work being done. I'm sure there are a few people out there working on personal builds, but nothing released to the public that I've seen. (Aside from Exynos)

Thanks, should have bought OnePlus 9. Heard it comes with unlocked bootloader from factory ?? Is that true?

I can suggest that you post this in the correct forum. As you can see, this forum is for posting custom development projects. Not for asking how to flash an OS from a completely different phone manufacturer.

The most notable one is Lineage OS. I don't know why devs aren't working on OnePlus devices anymore. I'm using Nord CE and guess what I also don't have any Custom ROM to flash. I only found one in the XDA Forum and that's the unofficial Lineagea OS, with last year's security update. So, it's not worth trying. For Nord 2 I can't even see any thread related to custom ROM in this forum. Some YouTubers posted about it and they're all providing Telegram channels. I don't think that's very trust worthy.

Do not flash that on nord ce 2! That's for the nord 2. Not the nord (CE) 2!! It will brick your phone.

Converting to international/rooting KB2007 and ROM support

I've had a T MO KB2007 for some time (both sim and bootloader unlocked). My daily driver is a Google Pixel 7 running GrapheneOS with root and I'd like to use my 8T+ for NetHunter/pen testing.
I'm trying to find the simplest route to running LineageOS with root and working 5G accommodating the latest patches/firmware and a reliable, tested route.
I'll maintain the guide/information instead of the several here on varying versions/methods in a super thread. I'll also maintain the stock firmware, etc. I want to differ as to not brick using other 8T models.
Details:
Unlock status: Both SIM and bootloader
OOS: 13
Security patch: Feb 5, 2023
Version: KB2007_11_F.46
My questions are the following, as some guides have changed since my last attempt a year ago:
What is the simplest route to go from T MO to rooted international with 5G and dual SIM?
Simplest way to root?
