Whenever I type or go backwards there is is very low sounding ping sound. How can I disable it? If I go to Sounds&Vibrations and turn of Touch Vibration, the sound is gone but I kinda like the vibration part. I have already turned all the System Sounds off.

Is there any software that will allow me to toggle vibration on/off for ringtones and notifications (preferably from the system tray)?
I want to keep the sounds switched on, but just turn the vibration off as when my I-Mate JAM is on a table, all you can hear is the vibration rather than the notification and ringtone sounds I've setup. Then when I put it in my pocket to go out, I want an easy way to turn on vibration again.
Is there anything out there?
I've tried some profile switching stuff, but they don't seem to work with my JAM as it tends to turn off vibrate mode for calls completely (for some reason).
Thanks in advance.
So, I just got my Nexus S (Yes!)
During daytime I keep the phone in vibration mode (texts, email, phone calls, whatever). But at night I'd like to keep it completely silent, so no vibrations either. I can't seem to find the right mode tough.
Of course I could go to settings and switch vibration to never every night, but this should be easier right?
My old HTC Hero had a ringtone mode / vibration mode / silent mode at the side buttons but the NS doesn't seem to work that way.
Any ideas??
install Audio Manager
yes it can completely go silent or just vibrates
there are many bars of audio control
the short cuts only has access to like half of them
that's why you need a 3rd party app
Hold the power on button, there should be a "Silent Mode" option. That should keep your phone silent. Make sure to also check your Sound settings to Vibrate "Only when not in silent mode." Handy option.
Edit: You can also hold the power button and put your phone in "Airplane" Mode. When you turn off Airplane mode in the morning, all the emails/calls/texts or whatever will update.
Btw... slightly off topic but related: the vibration on the Nexus S is horrifically weak. I never ever feel it. Even in my hand, it's very weak.
no, that silent mode is fake
is not true silent, other music, alerts, etc, still sounds even when set to silent mode
re: vibration... exchange it for another phone, mine is very strong, i posted i topic about it
my old SGS had a weak vibration, compared to the SNS
Ahhh yes, i see it now.
I put the vibration to always when not in silent mode and the ringtones to "silent". So now I have a vibration mode and a silent mode, but no ringtone mode. Exactley how I like it! Thanks!
Re: vibration, mine is very "high" so to say compared to my old phone, but I'm starting to like it. Its just enough vibration...

Hi, I've installed CM11 on my tablet, I'm not sure if this problem occurred before that.
The issue is, whenever my phone vibrates (i.e., when I press a key, or whenever I press the drawer button on the desktop) it also makes a tone noise.
I tried turning off all the touch sounds in settings, but it continued to make a tone noise, I then disabled all vibration, and it didn't make the tone noise.
The same happens with my keyboard "Ki Keyboard", even though I have sounds off, if the vibration is on, it makes a tone noise! If I have the vibration off, it doesn't make the tone noise, and if I have vibration off and sounds on, it makes my desired clicky noise for when I hit keys.
Any ideas? Tried googling - couldn't find anything, mostly because of the keyword vibration and tone coming up with all sorts..
You can disable the sound in the settings of kii keyboard: "sound &vibration, sound on keypress" (i use german kii keyboard)

I think this noise I'm hearing is from the actual vibration itself, not sure what to do about it...

no vibration at all on CM11 v10
Why does the vibration always stay the same, even though i change profile to quiet?
why do i always have to go to vibration settings to set it off or on, whenever i chose sound on or quiet?
Anyone???
I had the same issue with the phone and asked the same question and never got a response as well.........IDK.....it is ERY annoying!
In a meeting kept getting IMs, and the watch beeped every time. It was distracting and I was annoying people in the room so I pulled down the settings and clicked on the speaker icon. The symbol is now the speaker with the line through it but the sound is not Disabled !!!!!!
What can I be doing wrong ? In some situations it is inappropriate for the watch to make sounds but I can not turn sound off.
hello,
never happen to me, I will investigate and if possible give you feedback.
regards

Not sure if you are new in android. Android has 3 volume for adjustment. You need to control them one by one. You mute the media volume, but you will still get sound from notification, or ring.
Check out more audio option in the option menu, not the quick slide down icons.

It also has One Setting to turn the Speaker On and Off. This is what did not work yesterday.
Turn the Speaker off at the meeting on again when it ends. Easy if it worked
Looks like the App "Feel the Wear" was causing this issue.
The developer updated the app and now turning the speaker off mutes notifications.
