Hello : )
recently I've bought this incredibly cheap and neat 5G phone, Oppo A54 5G, which looks like is an upgrade after regular A54 (with snapdragon instead of mediatek chipset).I really need a custom, clean Android install on it as original firmware (ColorOS) sucks a lot. Just wondering, where should I start? It's a third phone in my life I'm thinking to flash, so I don't have much experience in it. As I did some research already, there are no TWRP for this model or even original ROM to patch available. Is it possible to root it and put an custom ROM on it at all? Any help would be really appreciated.

Dear Ali,
My advise to you is to buy Mate 8 as it has the best CPU in the world which is Kirin 950.
Thanks.

What about if I take oppo r7 plus Chinese release it can work in my country (Saudi Arabia) and if I am not root it i will not have problem
Thanks
Salam Ali,
I think it will work, but if you want to make sure that it will work or not check the "mobile Networks". Rooting the device or not this will not make any issues.
Ali, again my advise to you that don't buy OPPO R7 Plus and go to Mate 8, but if you don't want it you have a lot of devices which are better than R7 Plus such as, Xiaomi Mi 5, ZTE Nubia Z11, and LG G5. You know as for me I will buy Mate 8 from Gitex in Dubai.
Thanks.

I am not sure about you, but I have used many Android devices. From my experience, I have concluded, opensource support is way more important than corporate support. Because, in all my experiences, it is the opensource support that allow my devices to continue to be working and functioning long after the corporate support has stopped. Hence, when I was choosing a new phone, I make sure the phone has AOSP port and opensource community support is well and active. I like Oppo a lot, because their community is very supportive of AOSP. Look at their Project Spectrum for more details. I am a phablet guy, my previous phone was Asus ZenFone6. So going to anything smaller just not what I want, at least for now. Incidentally, after my experience my Asus, I am even more convinced that AOSP is the only way.
Since you are in XDA and looking for advice of which Android phone to get, my suggestion is very simple. You can choose whichever phone you like, as long as it has AOSP port.
Do take note, the CM is available for OppoR7Plus F variant only. So, if you intent to get OppoR7Plus and wants to try CM, then do make sure you get the right phone.
Hello everyone,
I am new here.
I want to know if is possible to flash or upgrade my wish phone Nowo 6 pro.
Currently my phone have a 6580 chipset MTK and 2 GB ram. Android version is 5.1 lolipop battery drain very fast.
Do you know where i can find a better firmware to my phone?
Thanks if you can help me.
I just received an Nava Jet Orange , this phone is an ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G, rebranded by Orange, the OS is outdated , it didn't receive an update since 2019. Many cool features of the phone does not work properly, for example NFC and wireless charging does not work and the camera is buggy, I heard that if I download an official ROM stock, I would be able to receive updates from official ZTE developers, can you guys give me a fresh copy of the ROM, and also help me install it?
Hi all,
Aliexpress sells Redmi Note 11E Pro's unlocked with the global ROM. This apparently removes the NFC ability for the phone.
A question for any users that have bought this phone:
1.Were you able to change to a custom ROM (eg. Arrow OS) and get NFC to work?
2. How did you do this? Did you have to install the China ROM first and then install the Arrow OS Custom ROM?
Having read many of the questions about bricked drives, it's just got me worried.
I'm coming from a Redmi Note 4X - I know but it is such a trooper that only after 5 years it it starting to get sluggish for me so just trying to get a handle on whether anything has changed from when I last flashed a new phone.
Thank you for any and all input to the above.
1. sure
2. No need to install CN ROM. Proceed with the installation of the ROM you want right away.
You can just use the xiaomi.eu ROM and make sure you download the VEUX rom and not the VEUXG as that is only for global devices but if you want something other than MIUI you can do it right away
Pixel experience on 11e pro 5g not working NFC, how working?
Basically, I have a Vivo y17 and it has fun touch OS installed on it by default on top of Android 9. Vivo basically left this phone for dead, as I'm still stuck on Android 9 for the last 4 years (since I bought it). All of my friends are enjoying the newest Android features while I look like using a Nokia 3310. I mean, my device is stable and all, but I want to try something new.
All I'm asking is, can I install any custom ROM with the latest Android version on my phone, without breaking it? If you anyone knows anything, please do tell. Thank
Thank you!

Thanks for the reply, good sir!
As a matter of fact, I know there is no official support for Vivo devices. All I'm asking is, if there's any other manual way with which we can make this work? After all, vivo is not like an "Unbreakable", "Vendor-specific" Apple device. There must be some way to tinker with the hardware, right?
