Guys, I'm trying desperately to get Sleep as Android on my Gear S2. The devs posted the .apk and the .wgt on their website, but I'm having a hell of a time installing them. With all setting set to allow from unknown sources turned on, the only work-around to getting the apk on the phone was to uninstall Gear Manager, install the apk then reinstall Gear Manager. Now my issue is getting the wgt on the watch. I've tried wrapping it in an apk, and sideloading it using sdb. The sdb method returns unsigned certificate errors. Is there anyone in the community that has this working or has any suggestions on how to get it up and working? I'll add both files to this post. **Please note that the file named Gear_S2- SleepAsAndroid_Consumer.apk should be changed to extension .wgt I was unable to upload it with the wgt extension.**

I have installed filesmaster and yes tried to transfer the wgt file to watch, was successful although filesmaster will not allow you to install anything, just open files.

It will not work. Gear S2 uses Companion model. APK and WGT files are installed separetly. You can't install ...Consumer.apk on S2.
The problem is the the wgt is not signed , i tried to work on it on tizen sdk but i`m kind of noob
Have you seen this?

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't Gear S2 support .tpk files since it is a Tizen OS? Files master will not open installer or anything for not supported file.
EDIT: ok, I read about it and it is indeed .wgt

I think the problem is that your watch unique id is not included in the list of testing devices, so you cannot install it. During app development, devs have to manually enter the id for each device which they want to run the app on.
I was able to install the .cfg-file using these instructions: https://youtu.be/Xy2B-nlnprg followed by https://youtu.be/mFjFI6Pv69E
When I open the app, it only shows: "Starting tracking" with no options whatsoever so I am not sure what to do now.
Any ideas?

I also got the app to install on the Gear S2 as well as the apps for the android device, but no luck making it do anything.
I got it to work. When installing the latest beta on the phone enabling smartwatch and smartwatch (heartsymbol) it worked. It did not monitor the heartrate during the full night, only a few hours.
I also believe the power on the phone should be >20% but it could be coincidentally failing below 20%

I believe the .apk does not work. I think it should install it on the s2 from the phone but does not work because it is not modified. (As you can do on the .wgt). (I am no expert so these are all assumptions)
On S health I also see no graph, only in the sleep as andoid-app on my phone.

Just have a respond from urbandroid "Please note that there is no need to install the APK along this is only a container of the wgt file in case this would make it easier to install." So you just have to install Sleep as Android on your phone and the .wgt on the gear s2.
And for the other question I had the answer was "Regarding, at the moment S health doe snot support sleep phases but hopefully we will be adding this very soon."

Is it possible to make a apk to install the wgt file on my watch. I have tried it with Tizen IDE but it won't work by me
Hi,
As you know, most APK's from S8 and Note8 cannot be installed like normal APK's on S7 and Note5. Samsung changed the signature of many packages so you'll get an error message "App not installed. The package conflicts with an existing package by the same name" if you try to install them as APK's.
Of course, for rooted users, they can simple flash them via recovery and adjust the permissions, but for all other non-rooted users, I've tested these APK's (many of them not available via Google Play update) and they all can be simply installed after download.
I hope you'll find them useful. I've uploaded them to my Dropbox at:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/uvh13kxhvh0d57q/AADBiGaclwVyWBTPxc2lnsBFa?dl=0
Best of luck!
Thanks i gonna try some apps
Have a Nice weekend

Hello all.
Im here to give a solution on this stupid error message when we try to install an APK File (The package conflicts with a package with the same name)
This is a very easy step to step solution.
Steps
1. Install APK Editor from Play Store
2. Open the app and tap on Select Apk (1st option)
3. Choose the APK you want to install and tap on Common Edit.
4. Tap install location and change from default to Internal Only.
5. Wait until it's edited and try installing the apk.
(This error happens mostly at samsung devices with Android 7 installed. Don't use this solution to install features not supported by your device ... for example edge screen ... bixby etc ... This will cause your device to auto reboot because of unsupported third party apps that are not supported or high cpu usage)
Thank you so much... You just saved my life.
I have been failing to do it so many times. Didn't know that I have to change install location. :good: :good:
[I tried to install multiple versions of ported Gcam to my Xiaomi mi 5s]
i did this but i have same error
i have lg v20
Does not work for me either on TMobile LG V20 (H918)
Worked
Thanks brother this trick worked on my Galaxy s6 edge running 7 nougat
Plz give link of apk editor...
Dear,
I have a problem installing an application on my new Huawei Mate 10 lite. I installed the open, but on opening it says the device modal is not compatible. Is there a way I can have the application running on my device? the application is a dictionary and I am in a dire need of it, for I use it for my studies. I would appreciate any help that would get the app running. Thank you

You're trying to install it from Google play or from an APK file ?
I installed it as an APK file. It was working fine on my old Samsung Galaxy S5, as I had it downloaded from Galaxy App Store. The latter is presumably the only place where this application exists for free. I downloaded it from Galaxy App Store, installed it on galaxy s5 and shared the APK file by means of another sharing app. It installs, but it does not run. It says "device modal not compatible".

Yes , that's a kind of " protection " for Samsung , I had the same problem with gear fit manager , an app from Samsung to make a smartwatch work . That was the only way to make it work but Samsung didn't allow to run this app on low-end Samsung devices and others devices.
Unfortunately , I can't do anything.
I believe that there should be a way to install it, since it is not an application that Samsung built. The only thing is that it is offered for free by Samsung. I can't find it any elsewhere, at least the same exact version that I am looking for, but on the Samsung app store. So, I tried to share it, but it never worked. I saw somewhere on this website how to install it, but requires the phone to be rooted.

Yes , it may be the case , because I think you have to fake your device name or something like that.
But I haven't the sufficient knowledge .
Maybe a longer search will be helpful , I hope you'll find the way to do this
I was deleting Bloatware (without root with adb commands) and I deleted my Galaxy Apps Store on my Samsung. Now, I need it for some reason and it isn't installing. I installed ZArchiver and went to /system/priv-app/GalaxyApps_OPEN/GalaxyApps_OPEN.apk
I tried to install the APK but it isn't installing. I tried to install APK from APK mirror and even it isn't I installing. I tried older APK from my old Samsung and it doesn't install.
i know that a factor reset can undo everything but I don't wish to start up fresh again as I have customised my Galaxy M31 a lot.
so, if anyone knows any other way of installing that again please tell. I will be really thankful to you.
