I updated my Honor 8 to OREO and as soon as i installed nova launcher, i tried to set the double tap gesture for lock the screen but i found a problem (maybe a bug).
Usually I used the Screen Lock built in the Honor 8, but in this upgrade the phone said that, even if there is the shortcut on the widget page and on the Nova gesture shortcut page , it isn't installed.
So now I can't double tap to lock the screen like I used to do. The only way is to use the Nova gesture built in, but it has problems. Or I can lock but I can't unlock with my fingerprint or when i double tap it lock simply turning the screen to black and then, after few seconds locking the phone.
Is there any way to use the Honor8 Screen Lock without having this problems?
My phone is not rooted.

Afaik 3rd party launchers doesn't support system widgets in Oreo. Had the same issue with Evie launcher.
I'm still using nougat, that's really bad. I love to double tap to lock.
I have an app which will allow for the use of my finger print to open it. The thing is it wants me to type in my password then set my fingerprint. However the Samsung fingerprint overlay screen is full screen so I can't type the password into the text field.
Is there a setting on my phone I'm missing? Or away to change the fingerprint overlay screen?

As for my phone, go to Settings - Security & privacy - Screen lock & passwords. Here we can disable lock screen password.
As for your RealMe 7 Pro, I think there should be some setting option like this.

I own a Samsung Note 10 and a Xiaomi 11T 5G. On my Samsung I have the option, when I have open apps and the phone is ringing, instead of giving me a pop-up screen or a floating window answering the phone to have it in full screen. Now, because Xiaomi’s pop-up screen for answering the phone is way too small, I’d like to have the option switching to full screen instead of pop-up or floating. Is there a way doing that?

I don't like using AOD because that already caused my 4XL' screen burned in
don't want to repeat that on my 7 Pro tho
But disable AOD also turned off the finger print scanner when display if off
is there a mod that can keep fingerprint scanner on when AOD is off?

You can have settings, that screen goes on as soon as you pick up the phone and/or as soon as you touch the screen. This shows the time and the finger print.
I don't the a chance (with stock android) to have the finger print always on.
I just tap the screen to wake it up and then use the fingerprint. I think that should be a toggle in the settings.
