One Has no OS no backup just TWRP - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone i got TWRP v2.7.1.1 a few years ago trying to renew my phone. in the proccess of following at the time an outdated guide video (red flag) i decided that i did everything right and deleted the original OS with no backup while simultaneously failing to deploy the new OS. im assuming both were incompatible with each other. i left the phone how it was and just a few days ago decide i should put an OS.
im still a newbie so if any of you are willing to help i greatly appreciate it. i know i need an OS compatible with TWRP v2.7.1.1. how do i go about finding one or/and an original OS as a back up or just to place it in as the main OS, anything to make the phone work again really. and if i need any programs or tools on my pc to get it in my phone that would also help. thank you all!

Go ahead and flash TWRP 3.5.2 via fastboot. After that you are free to choose and flash whichever ROM you prefer. Observe that you can not flash directly 2.7.1.1 -> 3.5.2 from inside TWRP. You will have to use the fastboot install method.

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix 5.8.5 for Cubot Cheetah + TWRP

Hello everyone, I was able to successfully port a RR Rom for this device.
Installation:
- Get SP Flash Tools (I used version 5.1512.0, like before)
- Download the RR ROM - https://mega.nz/#!swcRzAgB!fI4CbeHIfx_CdyPrmMNcGN4uQFy4YhaJohufU_DGxGI
- Download TWRP (scatter file included) - https://mega.nz/#!1xUjRIiA!0aFkvFOe0QP_f5SlMcBAPo0nCWNJbW0iagW0OlDaLlU
- Open the "RR 5.8.5 - 7.1.2" zip file, and put "boot.img" and "magisk_patched.img" into your phone's INTERNAL storage so you can find them later
- Flash the recovery through SP Flash Tools to "BOOT" partition! (If you flash it to "recovery" partition, the screen may not work)
- Reboot, it should boot into TWRP
- Wipe system, cache, data, dalvik cache
- Flash the ROM (you don't need to flash Gapps, they are pre-installed)
- After it's done, go back and click "Install", then "Install image".
- Flash either "boot.img" if you want no root access, or "magisk_patched" if you want the root access.
- Reboot.
- Wait for it to boot
Bugs
- No fingerprint is available to set-up
- Let me know if you find any?

This is my 2nd attempt at porting, ever, sorry for not being straight-forward and making this overly complicated.
If this works well for people I might try MIUI next.
And let me know if your device reads/works properly with SD card inserted! I think it may be just my device that doesn't recognize any, but would be nice to get some confirmation.

Thank you @kazkas1398, I'll try it... I'll be back!
I understand all of these, I know to work with adb, fastboot commands but I cannot unlock bootloader on my device, Cubot Note 20 Pro. I was searching about 3 days for this, I found what I knew but it seems that no command works in fastboot:
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot oem unlock-go
fastboot flashing unlock
fastboot flashing unlock_critical
fastboot oem unlock_critical
I must mention... Developer options, OEM-unlocking and USB-debugging checked, all MTK and ADB drivers installed, I'm not a begginer... but, of course, I don't know everything. So, I need a little help!
Nothing works, no command... it says "... command not supported in default implementation". I need unlock the bootloader first of all for rooting my device and other reasons.
I'm really frustrated, blocked in this situation! Can anybody help my to unlock bootloader, please? Thank you.
Ok friends, I managed to unlock bootloader, get root... and I tried to port the stock recovery with Mediatek Auto TWRP Recovery Porter.
Then, I flashed vbmeta and recovery images in fastboot mode...
After that, my Cubot Note 20 Pro is booting only in fastboot mode... until I flashed the stock recovery again.
Does anyone have any working solutions, suggestions other than waiting for an official TWRP? Thank you.
Edit:
I found this, I followed all the steps... but it stucked in TWRP logo... waited about 20 minutes... nothing... any solution please?! Thank you.

[Help] Installing AOSP, TWRP

So I'm pretty new on the whole android customization scene and I've been really wanting to install Android Open Source Project on my Android 10 phone for a while. I've found a video detailing how to go about it, but my problem is that there's not a version of TWRP for my specific phone yet (I have a Blackview BL6000 pro). For the purposes of making a recovery and installing AOSP, I'm wondering if there's another good app that could replace TWRP that functionally does the same things (Or if someone has a TWRP version somehow) that lets me install AOSP.
The video in question I was using as a guide was this one:
Any help would be hugely appreciated!

You not need TWRP for flash GSI (Custom ROMs). You need stock firmware of your device from company or you should make that your self about any problem with your actions.
After you can know how to do have GSI in your device with commands fastbootd: Installing GSI with fastbootd
and/or using this software: Treble Toolkit [A and A/B]
Ofcourse if yourr device is A/B so you need flash the GSI.img in the system_a or system_b so need know what slot is able to that.

Probably encrypted device TWRP files with weird file names - Android 12

Since oneplus 6 nas no security updates i decide to install custom ROM LineageOS 19.1 the newest build from official website.
Before installing this ROM i do all steps gently from Funky Wizard guide.
I have ADB drivers, unlock bootloader, installed magisk (rootet phone) backup my OOS and EFS, and installed twrp.
All basic stuff. Now i was ready to go to installed lineageOS.
I install lineage and i do all steps by their official website but with twrp. ( only what i dont flash copy partition zip file i wasnt sure if that will be work with twrp ).
After restart to recovery i must install gapps. Unfortunely the recovery was replaced i was assumed istead of twrp.
I installed gapps with their recovery and all work fine until i want to replace to twrp.
Now when i boot temporarly from img to install it perm. I have weird folder names wihtout any possibility to add ZIP file.
With some research i guess that folders are somehow encrypted.
Could you help me to install twrp with lineageOS when i have still access to this files? I need it for ex. recovery to stock if something in future goes wrong.
And i am currently on android 12 for sure.
Thank you from feedback!
first of all, you'd be better of if you posted this in the right area ==> https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-official-enchilada-12-lineageos-19.4437321/ ==> more chance to get help related to LOS 19 questions (it's pure chance I saw your post here)
second: make sure to follow the instructions given at the LOS instructions pages ==> https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/enchilada/
Mostly it is important that you have latest OOS 11 firmware installed in both slots before you start with LOS.
For the first steps never mind which recovery you have, just follow the instructions using LOS recovery. Reason is that TWRP is having problems wiping data / performing factory reset, at least it never worked for me. Then later on you can switch to TWRP
Back in May this year I wrote an instruction set here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-official-enchilada-12-lineageos-19.4437321/post-86879331
Interesting for you right now is everything below 1.x
2.x is a separate instructiopn set for OTA updates coming later on
Good luck!
Thank you for response. You have right its better to install it directly from dedicated recovery (lineage) and than replace with twrp. Also i fill missing steps (install recovery again and flash parition integration file) and also wipe all data as instruction says. Now after reinstall lineageos and then install twrp i have all normal structure files as before. Thanks again

My story and a couple of questions

Hi All,
I have a new-to-me Oneplus 7 Pro. I have been trying to get Lineage with MicroG running. Well it has been quite the adventure and I have it to the point where I have Lineage running fine, and go to reflash TWRP and have bricked the phone, which takes a bit of time to get back to the point of having Linage running again. Specifics:
Lineage version: lineage-19.1-20221219-microG-guacamole.zip
TWRP Versions: I have found that twrp-3.6.1_11-0-guacamole.img works since my phone is at Android 11.
My questions are:
Are TWRP versions tied to Android versions?
When I am trying to get the last version of TWRP installed I have tried 2 approaches:
fastboot flash recovery
fastboot flash boot
Neither worked, phone always ends up bricked. I have used:
TWRP-3.5.1-guacamole-Nebrassy-3.img
twrp-3.6.1_11-0-guacamole.img
twrp-3.6.2_11-0-guacamole.img
I also have tried to boot the images 1st using: fastboot boot twrp-3.6.1_11-0-guacamole.img
and that bricks things.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Ray

If you look at the official installation page for your phone, you will see that Lineage OS 20 and 19.1 are supported. So you should reinstall Lineage OS 18.1 again, and then follow the steps on this page. Don't bother reinstalling GAPPS until after you upgrade it.
If for whatever reason you don't want an Android version higher than 11, let me know.
I specifically don't want GAPPS or anything remotely Google related. I had tried OS 20 and found that I had a problem installing apps - probably user error, but I don't need the latest and greatest. I am currently at Android 11.
I will read through the instructions, although the number of tutorials I have gone through is craze.
Can you tell me what the relationship between TWRP and Android version is, and are you able to sus out what I did wrong with my efforts to get TWRP loaded over the lineage 19 version I was using?
Thanks
Ray

So I guess you don't want GAPPS, just MicroG. Definitely read through the instructions I gave you, as they are the official installation and upgrade instructions.
I would recommend installing Lineage OS 20, because it is the version that is being maintained right now.
I will attempt to guide you through the steps, but I need to know what your situation is right now: Is your bootloader unlocked? What OS do you have installed right now? What recovery are you using? etc.
I appreciate your help. Currently I am looking at a freshly updated phone with Android 11, and Oxygen 11.0.9.1.GM21AA.
The phone is a GM1917
Bootloader is unlocked and I am in developer mode. I have adb and fastboot loaded on my computer. I also have a working version of msm as I have bricked this thing 6 or 7 times...
Several times now, I have done the following:
Install TWRP
Install Lineage
Try and reflash TWRP <-- consistently fails at this point, gets stuck in a boot loop in the bootloader screen
Thanks

"Try and reflash TWRP" what do you mean, update the OS over TWRP?
I mean trying to re-install TWRP after installing Lineage

OK. Can you try following the installation instructions and skip the unlock bootloader step? Do so at your own risk, because the steps say you have to be on Android 12 first. If you do follow them, just make sure you follow them very carefully.

To my knowledge the guides that are provided on the TWRP site don't work for Android 12 and 13. From what I've heard, you have to root your phone and then install TWRP through Magisk.

Yeah, but I was just saying how they should probably reflash TWRP instead of how TWRP's site says to, which doesn't work

Is there twrp for Samsung a022m?

Hello weeks ago I rooted my samsung Through Odin and magisk manager (If someone helps me, I'll upload a tutorial on how to convert the img to tar.md5) But I want to have trwp to mount /system But I can't find the official/unofficial recovery
Is there another recovery? Or someone pass the version for Samsung a022m binary 3
Wrong place to look I suggest looking model maker of your phone and you will be all right
Oh Yes, I think I had posted it on Samsung but I can't find the model to post it there

I say it because there is no twrp for my cell phone 🫤 and it's not the first time I've done this on Samsung or Xiaomi, I just can't find my device
If you can't find it, means it obviously doesn't exist, why not compile the suitable TWRP at your own - or pay somebody to do it for you?
How can I get TWRP for my device? (how to compile TWRP)
We can’t afford to buy every device made and many times certain devices are only available in other countries. TWRP is fully open source, so you can port TWR...
