So... I just got a newer Seicane unit installed, Model H201N-P, Android 10, into my 2013 JKU. It's a H2, MTCE_HF unit. Everything seems to be working fine except the USB/SD card. The old unit had a slot on the drivers side and I never had an issue. This unit does not have a SD slot, so I have tried both a USB adapter with MicroSD card (Sandisk 256 GB which worked flawlessly in the old unit) and a 32 GB stick, both inserted into one of the USB cables pulled through to the glove box. The card and stick both work fine until the jeep is turned off, then back on, once on the card/stick reads as corrupted.
I can reboot the unit and the card/stick will be fine again until jeep gets turned off/on. I am using the microSD/stick for audio files for music players (PlayerPro, Poweramp, Blackplayer) I tried them all to make sure it wasn't an app issue.
Anyone have any ideas?

1.) I bought a 16GB SD card (Patriot) at Microcenter last week. Everything was fine until last night I noticed my program were blank. I then see the card is not mounted, and will not mount period. I removed the card and put it in my laptop where I could see the files. I did notice the card was locked read only, even though the card adapter was clearly not set for it.
Is there a set list of SDHC cards that can only be used? Do I need a certain speed card? Any ideas why this card refuses to mount suddenly? I can't even format it in either the phone or my laptop.
2.) I have a car stereo with AUX port I used for years with ipod. Plugged in the phone to play music and it worked fine for a day or so, then either my speakers (all 4) have fried, or the stereo itself is fried. Radio and CD both produce crackling static, then silence. The timing seems odd, so it does seem that connecting the phone to play music damaged it? Ideas or thoughts anyone?

Edit: About the SDHC card, I have put it in the laptop with several adapters making sure the lock tab is not pushed down. Even tried the tape method. Card is locked, and nothing seems to unlock it. Personal data such as photos (I think of just the cat) put there is an Excel sheet that has invoicing information for my work, as such I have to delete this before returning. Would a magnet work? I guess in the end not too critical, but still.
Edit #2: Found someone else over at Android Central who had the same exact problem with the same exact card, the Patriot 16GB SDHC class 4 found at Microcenter. Suffice to say I am just going to exchange it for a SanDisk. So does anyone have an idea how I can erase the existing data? Would using something like Ubuntu do the trick?
Hi,
I'm thinking of buying a galaxy tab 8.9 for my car but I'm still skeptic.
The plan is to have one cable from the tab to the "car" which is charging the tab when the motor is started. This can be done with 5V DC/DC converter and a USB cable I'd say...
But now I noticed that this tab has no micro sd slot so I want to have a possibility to extend memory with usb or micro sd. I know that there are some adapters for usb host or micro sd but all off them I found are using the the standard samsung connector which is already used for charging in my case.
I found the pinout and it seems that this connector has everything on it which anybody needs. But I need charging and usb host at the same time!
Is there a cable which has multiple ends for USB host and client and micro sd (and maybe also hdmi, analog audio/video, ...) ? Just, one cable that can do everything which is on the samsung connector. That would be cool...
Anybody knows of something like this?
I'd be happy just finding an adapter that is just microsd... everything I've seen is full-size sd or 15 different bulky slots. You might check dealextreme. they just added galaxy tab accessories. they dont have what youre looking for, but maybe they'll have some combination that works just as well. they have some stuff i've not seen elsewhere.
I would say one of these kits from Samsung with the SD card and get a microSD with SD adapter and you should be good to go I would think.
Galaxy Tab USB and SD Connection Kit:

If you go to "features" it says:
SD or micro SD Compatibility The USB & SD Connection Kit comes with a SAMSUNG micro SD Adapter, allowing you to convert a micro SD card to work in a larger physical slot. Just insert your micro SD card into the SAMSUNG micro SD Adapter and you have a standard-size SD card compatible with the SD Adapter.
As for other adapter ends you might want to check out Belkin or Re-trak and see what they offer. I know that I got a Re-trak multi-adapter kit with HDMI cable a few weeks ago. It does not have a 30pin adapter unfortunately though my phone actually has a better camera in it so I really wouldn't be needing to play video from the tab.

thx to all...
problem solved.
Now can build my own cable.

I bought a pioneer x8500 stereo for my car with an HDMI output. I purchased what looks like an official MHL adapter on Amazon for $28. Each time I plug the cable into the Pioneer I completely lose all mobile data, I cannot even make or receive phone calls and have a circle with a line through it in the notification bar. I can see my screen on the headunit and do everything, even use Wi-fi but no mobile data, which is really important! When I unplug it I get it all back. I tried the MHL on a TV using the HDMI and I can see the screen same as on the pioneer but still no network until I unplug it.
I have a SCH-i545 rooted S4 running 4.3. Kernel 3.4.0. SE for Android status is enforcing. I had the verizon antivirus installed but removed it. I don't know if its something on my phone preventing the connections or the adapter is defective.
I have tried everything I can think of, even wrapping the adapter in tinfoil but nothing helps. I have a Garmin external GPS plugged in below the stereo and the satellite loses its signal when this is plugged in. It may be a coincidence but I have never had that happen before.

I have the red cord if that makes sense. (It was cheaper and was supposed to work but never did). You have the bpx looking one correct? Little white/red/whatever. Do you plug the power in on it? Try switching how you plug it into power.. i.e first plug in adapter count to 10 or 20 then phone. Or plug in all at oonce and radio last.. Just throwing things out there that i've seen on reviews from otherbuyers of em

I bought a genuine Samsung adapter and it was heavier and packaged different than the samsung one that I sent back to Amazon, it works fine now. It even charges my phone using a USB cable plugged into a cigarette lighter adapter. My other car adapter kept making the HDMI cutout and I think it just didn't have enough power. I am still trying to learn and get tasker to work properly and so far I am able to start up my music player and then launch Waze on the phone so I have GPS and Music on the big screen. I also use screenstandby so the phone screen saves power. On the radio side I have Mixtrax working with a 32GB mircosd card plugged into a USB stick, (that took a while to figure out because it DOES NOT work with apple) an 16GB SD card with Movies, my160GB Ipod with songs, Audiobooks and Mixtrax EZ, a DVD in the player and my phone for pandora via bluetooth but when I use Pandora I have to reconnect AVliberator. I wish I could have Waze working from my phone and my Ipod music player through the speakers. As soon as I get it all working perfectly I am going to do a video tutorial for those that had my same issues but no where to figure out how to solve them. I have a parking brake bypass switch installed that I have to click everytime I launch the phone so I can view the screen.
I want to hook my M8 to my Kenwood DDX8901HD but when I connect and go to USB on the stereo it gets stuck at reading.. any help? I thought I would just get an MHL adapter instead but if I can get the USB working it would be great!
Hmm. Are you sure you are in "disk drive" mode and not charge only mode? Also, how much "stuff" do you have on your phone/card? I assume the head unit is scanning both the internal storage and the external storage for files. If you have a lot on both, it could take maybe an hour or so to fully scan it, depending on how fast the processor in your head unit is.
Hi All
I have a Max6 Dasaita PX6 for Toyota Rav4. It comes with two usb sockets whihc are in the glovebox and one extra which connects the factory usb socket with the Dasaita Radio.
This fatory USB slot stopped working. I dont know how and why but it did wokr and then sudeenly it does not. It dosent even have power. Could this have to do somethign with the fact that the car battery had to be changed? because this is the only thing whihc has been changed in the car recently, but the usb did work after that. Now I did not use the car for two weeks, and now when I turn it on everything works except this factory usb slot. it dosent even has power anymore. Did anyone has encounterd something similar like this?
What did the reseller suggest when contacted for support?
Had a similar experience with my px5. Just ended up unhooking the power to the HU, then reconnecting it. It started working and haven't had an issue since.
