Hi all,
Apologies if this thread is not in the correct section of the forum...
I have a pixel 3 with a WhatsApp version which I have not updated for a while because I did not want to accept the latest T&C... This is fine, it still works for now on the Pixel 3.
My issue is that I bought a Pixel 5, and when I transfered all of my data from the Pixel 3 to the Pixel 5, it did not transfer WhatsApp "as it was", meaning that when I opened WhatsApp on the Pixel 5, it was like a brand new install, and I had to accept the latest T&C to be able to use the app. Which is exactly what I don't want to do (and did not do).
Is there a way to transfer the WhatsApp version used on my pixel 3 to my pixel 5, without being forced to accept the latest T&C ? Or install an older WhatsApp version which does not require to accept the latest T&C ? I found a few website that provides previous versions of WhatsApp but I am always a bit relunctant to get apps from untrusted sources...
It seems that for now, Facebook has given up restricting the use of WhatsApp for user who don't accept the latest T&C, that's why I'd like to keep on using it for now.
And yes, I did install Signal a long time ago, and I am very happy with it, but my family doesn't really care about data privacy and they are still using WhatsApp.
Hi nice to meet you. If you just want to transfer whatsapp app between your phones, try mobile transfer software. Such software can help us transfer apps between mobile phones directly from the computer via usb cable or wifi connecting. It's easy and safe, but not free. Try to get a free one from the giveaway sites. Hope this will be your help.
Of course you can install an older WhatsApp version.
I have a series of historical editions of WhatsApp APK all of which are from the WhatsApp official website. They are from V2.18.379 to V2.21.10.15.
Which version do you need?
Thanks. I might try 2.21.7.14. My concern is that the T&C will still be the very latest ones but it's worth giving it a try...

Hi,
Are you guys able to access this application on google play store ?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mindmeapp.alarmpadpro
Whether I try with proxies or my own IP (Belgium), I always end up with a message from Google saying that the app is not available in my country.
I know that the developer stopped this project last year, but I am surprised not to be able to get it anywhere.
I also tried to download the apk for version 1.9 from various websites (free or pro version), and Windows Defender always reject the file stating that it's infected by a Trojan, so I start to wonder if this is a false positive or if Google detected the same and prevents the app from being accessible on the store or so ?
It's the first time that I am facing this situation, and I am very surprised and frustrated not to be able to buy this app which looks fantastic.
Let me know if you are facing the same problem or if you have a working APK backup
Thanks !
For those who are in the same situation and who may be looking for AlarmPad FREE, here is the APK of version 1.9.3 (I believe it's the last).
I am still looking for a way to buy the PRO version, and for now the only solution seems to be in the USA :/
I'm in the USA, and can't find this app in play store.

Thank you for the information Henry, then I have no clue where this app is available nowadays (it looks like it was widely available in the past).
Note that it appears that my previous apk downloads which were detected by Windows Defender as trojan were false positive since the same file does not trigger the warning anymore.
Too bad I can't simply by the pro version

Unfortunately even when installing the pro version from your post with the mindme pro key, it does not detect it as "PRO" (features are restricted as in FREE version).
I have the same behavior with this PRO apk which is the latest version I found.
I tried to contact the developer to know why his app is not available from the PlayStore anymore, but I did not received any answer so far :/

Well it seems you have to find a new app ... :/
I'm in the UK (used to live in the USA) and I couldn't visit the alarmpro page, but I could visit here and download the app to register it.

Old thread but I have the pro version. Don't know how the powers-that-be would feel about me sharing the apk. The developer has stopped providing support for this app and the backup service (which is why I bought it) doesn't work anymore.

Hello ParrotSquawk,
Thank you very much for the offer Actually I posted the pro apk here some time ago thinking it would not be a problem since there was no way to buy it anymore and development stopped as well, but the moderators didn't appreciate that...
For info even with the pro apk you cannot access the pro features, it somehow checks on google play if you bought it and locks it to free version.
I gave up on alarmpad for that reason. I wanted to use it because of its tasker integration, but ended up using ClockTask plugin. Not exactly the same thing but also very well integrated with tasker.
Cheers !
I don't know how much help this is, I was worried that I would need to find an alternative when i upgraded my 3½ year old S7 Edge to my Note 10 +.
Thankfully, despite being no longer available, it transferred over through SmartSwitch and is working fine except for the sign in/backup feature.
That said, does anyone else know of any other app that works like AlarmPad? It is a must for me as I'm on shift work and EVERY duty is different.
Old thread..but...
My biggest issue with this app currently is that the data can't be backed up anymore. If I reset my phone I have to create all the alarms and hashtags again. (My phone does not have root available).
If someone could recode it to backup and restore using an SD card ... That would be great.
i am wanting to get a mate 30 pro and of course install google services on it...
in almost every video tutorial i saw whether its the mate 30 pro or the mate 30 or the p40 the GSF ID is always the same.
the GSF ID is supposed to be unique to every device yet in these videos they are all the same (see below the two i got from videos).
so in essense 100's if not 1000's of people using the restore method are using the same GSF ID? isnt that dangerous to the google play account its lined to?
I am also curious whether this has to do with the backup we're restoring to the phone.
Also, i am spooked by the big G application. who knows what backdoor it maybe opening?
3db5868d120809ca

The big G is the lz play exploit app. I used it to get GMS on my mate 30 Pro last year when it was still an easy fix. I have noticed nothing but I did uninstall it after the fix. Not sure about the most recent fixes? As for the G Id, this could be something like one of Microsoft bulk licensing where one product Id is put on loads of the same PCs ( Dell, HPs etc), not sure but could be something like that? It is obviously from a working account that has been backed up though and copied. But if you need to use GMS, then there is not much choice really.
Is there a working option without crutches now?

Thanks for the reply.
I understand your explanation but as i read about the GSF ID its like a car license number or rather a serial # for a device. this ID could be tied to your google account or rather device serial #.
I now understand why when installing and uninstalling the framework you have to keep retrying to get the ID back...i think its a hole in the google system where it just gives up and assigns it to you.
I dont know. I feel this is dangerous that all of us are sharing one GSF ID from a backup.
If the device was able to be rooted you can generate a new one.
i am sure the people that generated this backup had rooted their device because when the device first launched there was a service to unlock the bootloader. now its no more.
this is the article i am talking about that concerns the GSF ID:

they are probably using the methods everyone is using, putting the phone back in the box and shipping it. i see no other solution. unless root and thats not possible since bootloader unlock services for the device has stopped.
That was how my mate 30 Pro arrived but I reset it and used the lzplay method when it worked back then myself for the sake of it. Good read above, I think we will have to wait a while to see what happens next.

I think we should no longer hope that the USA will grant Google the authorization to work with Huawei seen the tensions between China and the US and the Covid-19 story. I have google spy services up and running since late last year and have no issue, granted my use of google apps is very limited. If we have a backdoor installed through lzplay we will never know but if you have google, wattsapp, fakebook etc installed you can be sure you will be tracked, profiled in one way or the other. That is a fact.

So your suggestions... to get rid of Google in order not to be tracked?
the average consumer has no clue of what lzplay is doing. its the most dangerous app out there using the MDM technique (mentioned above).
today at the mall i saw a girl representative for a reseller company in my country for huawei products and she had it installed.
i warned her and told her she committed a mistake but ppl see their phones working fine and dont worry about it. you wont know if the app is sending or stealing your data...(Well, actually, you can install a firewall app and track which apps are sending data to what destination - thats one way that came to my mind)
The issue remains is: We dont know who created lzplay and made a website and made the app. thats the scary part.
Now, another perception of this could be the following:
MAYBE, just maybe the lzplay was released by huawei themselves and if so then we need not worry. i mean we run on their operating system. they would have no interest in stealing data. they can already do that ...
This is being optimistic and thinking this maybe a fact.
i, myself will not venture into this and wont attempt it. Almost all apps work fine except for one thing: Games that rely on Google play games will fail without having the GMS files installed.
I dont play games so its not a big deal for me.
besides, most games now-a-days give you the option of logging in with facebook or google play games. select facebook and you'll be fine.

I just do a full reset of my phone with GMS trying only using HMS. So far it's easy with phone clone and Aurora store. The only thing I miss are the notifications from Google and Twitter, but everything else is working perfect.
If you guys have specific questions concerning the GSF ID, I'd be happy to answer them. I'm the author of the aforementioned blog post, as well as several tools that deal with Google Play Services (in case you don't have/want them on your phone).

Is there a way to change de GSF ID of the phone manually? For example give the GSF ID of a Samsung device that works with FCM to a Mate 30 Pro, so that the Mate 30 Pro won't have the notifications issue when GSM are installed.
Or go back to a GSF ID that works perfectly and by mistake the phone's memory has been wiped and now the GSF ID doesn't work to receive FCM notifications.

You are not suppose to change it manually. However, you can always request a new one by clearing the cache of the market app. The GSF ID is kept in that apps database, so if you wanted to change it manually, you'd have to install the android platform tools, use ADB to pull the file (root required), use sqlite3 to make the changes (the key is called "android_id", not GSF ID for legacy reasons), then push the file back to the device. Reboot afterwards.

I used the Windows tools above to change the GSF ID of my un-rooted Samsung Galaxy A325G, and they worked fine... but does anyone know how the new GSFID was determined?
Is it random?
EDIT: I might be able to figure out how it's generated using "Dummy Droid".
[Tool] DummyDroid - GSF ID generator
Dummy Droid is a mainly a companion tool for the Raccoon APK Downloader . It allows you to create hardware profiles for arbitrary Android devices and upload them into your Google Play account, generating a new GSF ID in the process.
Mocks can either be generated by probing an existing device via ADB or be completely made up from scratch. You (may) need this tool if Google Play won't give you access to an app because of device incompatibilities, country or carrier restrictions. You (may) also need this tool if you are an app developer yourself and want to test compatibility filter settings without actually owning the target device.

Hi,
I purchased a new phone a Motorola Edge S (hardware SKU XT2125-4), unfortunately it is a China ROM phone which means it didn't come with Google play store. This was side loaded and I am able to install apps from google. But I have SO many issues with this and I am hoping someone has something helpful to actually use this phone
1. When I try to use Google setup a nearby device (to transfer everything over to this phone), it simply can't find my new phone (despite having bluetooth and location on for both phones
2. I can't restore contacts from google drive even though I can connect
3. I downloaded the MAGISK app, however the file browser is unable to install as the app is not allowed. The toggle to trust the app can not be changed.
I am at a loss as to how to actually use this phone as essentially it's useless at the moment. Any help would be appreciated.
It is already running Android Version 11
Baseband version M55_HI20_209.334.01.60R NIO_PVT_SUPERSDS_CUST
Kernel Version 4.19.136-perf+
Build Number RRN31.Q1-20-17-6
I can provide any / all other information if needed
If the solution is to root the phone, I'm ok with that too, but see point 3.
I'm in the same situation. Purchased the XT2125 as well. Got the Google stuff working by side loading the play store, services and framework. However, initially, while everything else was working, the contacts wouldn't sync. After a few hours of searching, finally came across an article which said that I also needed to side load an apk called google contacts sync and give it permission. Contacts started syncing after that. Fast forward a couple of days and a system update later, SMS are delivered with really long delays and outbound ones fail. Google maps crashes constantly and navigation just doesn't work. I don't know what to do with this phone now honestly, since I need Google maps navigation on a regular basis. Have tried reinstalling maps, resetting permissions, clearing cache and data but nothing seems to work. And with the SMS delay, I can't sign on our complete transactions on a lot of apps because the SMS usually arrives after such a delay that the code has expired. Feels like such a waste of money this phone even though it's supposed to be great bang for the buck.
I am hopeful that when they release the Moto G100 (same phone actually), that we will be able to flash it with this ROM to make it usable.

Yeah, I think it's being released in a couple of days. Anyway, I did a factory reset and the maps issues sorted out. Had to go through the pain of sideloading google again but the device is being shown as google play certified, but yeah, would be nice to just have the international rom on it.
Were you able to make any headway with your device? I didn't put a sim in mine but the rest of it seems to be working ok, except Youtube Vanced isn't signing in with a google account.
Hello
I did pick an Oneplus 8T on Prime Day, its still sealed and
last 3 Days i collect some Informations about Android / OxygenOS and about Custom Roms and Debloat Stuff.
I had an Samsung Galaxy S2 as my Daily Driver , at this time Android was really Bad
in the end i Root and used Cynagon with Android 6? idk anymore.
since those Days i used Apple Devices as my Daily Driver, i try some breaks from the Apple ecosystem with an P30 Pro and S10+ ( for an Month ) but switched back to iOS cuz Privacy issues.
And this is the Reason why i start the Thread "Privacy" is important for me.
So how is the Privacy and influence from Google to Track and Spy at you if u:
1. Create a New Account
2. Turn everything OFF u can
3. Dont use Google APP´s / Services ( Not that hard .. if coming from Apple )
4. Debloat with ADB
and using maybe only the Google Playstore.
Thanks for any helpfull comments
Lineage OS is officially supported on the 8t, for privacy i'd flash that and not use gapps. You can get your bootloader unlocked easily and be off the to races
Or just use oos and debloat all of Google apps with xxxnolimits magisk ROM
You can use Android without creating a Google account. You can also disable pretty much every app.
You do need a Google account to use the Play store. So if you want to install apps without an account, just download APKs from the internet.
Just curious, what kind of information do you not want to share with Google? Or Apple for that matter?

Paid options used to work , but I think the newer versions of the apps killed the function.
