Question Bypass Google photos restriction by transfering photos from A32 5G to pixel 3a? - Samsung Galaxy A32 5G

Good afternoon,
I'm sure as many of us are aware that as of June 1st 2021, Google photos is going to start imposing a limit on non pixel phones for the uploads of photographs and videos. I currently have A32 5g phone which I recently acquired from T-Mobile. I also have a fully functional pixel 3A XL. I'm going to start using the A32 5G as my daily driver. I was wondering if there was a way for me to take photos on the a32 and bypass the Google photos limit. One thought I had in mind was to take the pictures on the A32, and then transfer them over to the pixel 3A, and then have the pixel 3A upload the images to the Google photos. First of all, would that work? or would the metadata notify google photos and impose the limit since it was not taken on pixel 3a? If it would work, would would be the best way to go about it? Resillo sync comes to mind at this time. I would ratherNOT Root the a32 5g if possible. Dont want to brick a new phone by accident. Thank you for your advice.

Your current photos will not count towards 15GB free storage.

Also bricking your phone due to this, makes no sernse, sounds like science fiction to me personally. No offense
I don't know, maybe start using alternative cloud solutions like eg. nextcloud for this?
Also... A32 5G to Pixel? Wouldn't solution be to download all photos on device storage/sdcard, then reupload using new Pixel to make sure new higher GB limit for Pixels apply?

Sorry, let me clarify. I have a pixel 3a xl, and i have a A32 5G. I would like to use the A32 5G and upload pics to google photos somehow (AFTER June 1) so that it does not start counting in my storage limit. Yes, I am thinking that kind of solution downloading/transfering form A32 5G to pixel and upload from pixel. (Pixel has no SD Card slot).

How to get unlimited Google Photos storage for life
You better pick up an original Google Pixel while they're still around

Pixel 3a camera question

Quick question,
Has there been any talk about porting the pixel 3a camera to other phones?
Since the 3a doesn't have an extra processor dedicated to photo processing like then normal pixels (2 & 3) then, I would imagine, it would be easier to Port. Right?
Am I way off base here? I'm just curious.
Thanks

Rico, I was using a PE Rom (Pixel Experience) on a Moto G5 Plus prior to getting an actual Pixel 3a, and was able to do several of the camera software features that are available on the 3a using the camera app that is available in that rom.

Looking to change over from Pixel 2 xl to One Plus

I'm a current Pixel 2 XL owner and are due an upgrade in a couple months. After reading the Pixel 4/ 4XL reviews I'm not sure if I'll go for the P4 series. So many reviewers rave about the One Plus series phones.
I'm on Verizon, so if I were to get a One Plus which one would be lateral move or improvement over the P2 XL. I'd also love to have 5G, but if there are arguments against that I'll listen. I'm all about performance. I want a great camera but I don't need THE best one.
Thanks!
I had the pixel2xl on verizon (rooted) with Q and honestly it is the perfect phone and I did not have to upgrade! But honestly 12 gig and 256 storage!!! at 800 bucks!!!! I had to do it and even though still on Pie waiting for stable Q. I do not regret it!!!!!
I made the switch from a P2XL to a 7 Pro, and there are some things I miss about the Pixel:
1) Unlimited photo backup at original quality
2) Call screening and Now Playing
3) Camera quality
Even with these differences, though, I am glad I switched. The screen quality, speed, and price simply cannot be beat.

I have to admit, the call screening was the big one for me.

Not sure if you heard, the P4's don't give you the photo backup at original quality
I've owned a OnePlus 5, 5T, 6, 6T and now currently have a 7 Pro.
I'm switching to the 4 XL for the following reasons
- Better Tasker integration with the Pixel ROM vs OOS. Automating things like night light and vibrate mode are a bit more cumbersome on OxygenOS.
- Better camera. I know many will tell me to just use the Google camera port, but I'd rather not mess around with finding the correct APK and messing around with XML files to find what suits me best. I'd rather just have a phone that natively supports GCam and is more of a plug-and-play type scenario. The ports also don't allow for portrait mode pics unless it's a person.
- I'm in Canada and on Fido, and they don't support VoLTE or VoWiFi on devices they don't sell themselves. I've owned a Pixel XL, 2XL and 3XL for a short while and having VoLTE actually makes a difference in call quality. It's something I want to have again.
- Day one updates. OnePlus does push out updates pretty fast but it's nice to have the monthly patches with Google.
- Small bonus is wireless charging. I use my phone as a remote for my TV so having it lay flat on my side table and have it charge without me having to plug anything in is super convenient.
Unless I forgot something, basically everything else I'd probably stick with OnePlus. Honestly, if the camera was better and had VoLTE support, I would have kept it and lived with the rest of the 'issues'.
The 7 Pro is my first OnePlus and I haven't looked back! It's the Nexus unofficial inheritance...

How is your LTE speed? I can get online while in concrete building downtown....
I switched from the Pixel 2xl to the OnePlus 7 pro and am still highly impressed at how big the performance gap is. I can now open an app in the morning before work and when I get off all my apps are still in memory at the same position I left them.
i switched as well from pixel 2 xl to op7 pro. The only thing i miss is the call screening/block robo calls. I have been getting at least 3 per day.

Considering ditching the S10e for a Pixel 3a again

I seriously considering ditching my Samung S10e & picking up a cheap Pixel 3a again.
The only reason i got the S10e is because i lost my Pixel 3a while on holiday & at the time in August last year, the S10e was on a very good offer under £500 & the Wife's work discount brought it close to £400 hence why i ended up getting the S10e over another Pixel 3a which after a good few months with the S10e I've now come to regret that decision.
Reason being.
Signal on the S10e is terrible where i live dropped calls continuously, never had a problem on my Pixel 3a.
Battery life is also terrible being exynos it suffers badly from 4G drain, again no problems on the Pixel 3a could easily get a day out of it even though battery on both are around the same capacity.
Support tbh Samsung has upped their game when it comes to supporting their devices, but Android 11 will be it's last major update & will only show up sometime in early 2021, the Pixel 3a on the other hand will get Android 11 around September time & also will get Android 12.
Camera while it's ok in good light on the S10e the pixel 3a blew it out of the water when it comes to image quality more so in low light shot's, i even go far as to say that the pixel 3a camera still better than the S20 lineup, i can cope losing the wide angle camera for better image quality again, & i don't care for 4K 60fps as it wasn't stabilised on the S10 range & the video quality on the pixel 3a was more than upto the job.
Also i don't care that the Pixel 3a only has 4GB of Ram, Snapdragon 670 & only 64GB of storage as I don't game on my phones & i don't do any multi tasking & i don't use that many apps.
The other option is to hang on for the Pixel 4a later this month or early next month which looks very much like the S10e, but that will cost £400 starting price and i can get a brand new retail Pixel 3a close to £250, that should easily last me until the Pixel 5a next year.

Yes waiting for 4a is a good option and if you can wait even more the pixel 5 is gonna be a midranger this year but i guess no-one can wait for that long to buy a phone .So if you can, pixel 4a will be the best option as it will have larger battery more efficient processor etc.
Decided go for another Pixel 3a rather than the 4a & save myself around £150.
Also if the Pixel 5 is a mid range phone with a starting price of around 500 & 5G as standard, then getting that later on in the year or early next year when the deals are on will be a better option than going for the Pixel 4a next month.
I'll trade you my week old 3a for an S10e lol

Google Photos unlimited storage not for Pixel 3a

Hello! I'm coming from Pixel 2 where I had unlimited photos storage at original quality untill 2021, on my Pixel 3a that option is gone. Where did you store the photos at original quality? Or are you happy with the high quality from Google?
The Pixel 3 series was the last phone that Google offered the free unlimited photo storage at original quality. Even the Pixel 4 series does not offer that benefit.
You have two choices: 1) save photos in high quality or 2) continue using unlimited storage and eventually have to buy more storage from Google.
Since the "High Resolution" option saves photos up to 16MP and the camera in the 3a is a 12MP camera, you should be able to use this option without any loss of photo quality. Videos will only be saved at 1080p, but honestly that is fine for archive purposes. If you need 4k for editing purposes, you are likely pulling that footage off the phone and not using the Google Photo version to edit with.
So unless there is some real reason you need videos archived at 4k, the "High Quality" option is completely fine with the 3a series.
Thanks for your answer, I've read that besides the limitation of 16MP the photos made with let's say 12MP aren't loseless. 1080p for videos it's ok for me, but with photos I like to have the original quality. In the meantime I've switched to OneDrive for backup. I have 40GB there.

Current device Pixel 3A, should I buy Nord?

Hi guys,
i am currently on Pixel 3A, but i want to change phone due to size of memory (only 64gb)....
I like the camera of Pixel and i am sceptical on the camera of Nord.
Is there a way to get the results of Pixel on the Nord? Or with GCAM there will be just a minor improvement on the Nord's camera, but nowhere near to Pixel quality?
In general would you say that i should make the move please?
Thank you!

I personally choosed Nord over other phones because of 90hz & oled. But my previous phone was 5 years old.
Go to Nord forums, Apps & theme section, and you will see the topic of GCAM on this device where it is some users feedback
I'm evaluate to buy a new phone in September, when probably support for my mia3 will stopped. And this oneplus seems good for quality/price
