The bloat is insane. - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Questions & Answers

So I did a few adb uninstalls and such and then start setting up my device. I remembered that a few apps that I need are on the Samsung App store only for . So I log into the Samsung app store and it's basically wanting to "update " all the attached. Some of that ****e was removed via adb so unsure why it wants to "update " them for.

By the way that was just two screen shots of BLOATwarez. Just for the those that are not familiar with Galaxys , that's one main reason they have tripe battery life compared to other devices with similar specs. My general rule of thumb is as follows, a Samsung Galaxy device with lets say a 4500mAh battery is the equivalent to a 3500mAh device from another brand out of the box.

[Completed] Samsung Galaxy GT-i9300

Hey Guys,
I have recently purchased a 2nd hand Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 from a friend for £35.The phone was 2 years old he had just received his new upgrade and did me a favour as i know they go for around £60 in it'd current very good condition.
My friend is the type of guy who doesn't follow the rules with regards to charging the battery. For example, he put's in on charge when it has 60% and then leave it on charge constantly when in the house or the local bar where the landlord who we both get on well with not only gives us free wi-fi but allows us to charge our devices. In my case that is a Lenovo x200 12" notebook, the above mentioned phone and my Nexus 7 tablet. I digress, that aside, it has ruined the battery and after several charges i'm just starting to repair it.
I leave the device switched off and let it charge for 18 hours. The first time i only got £58%, the 2nd i got 72% and the third 100%. Only problem being that it will be completely dead within 2-3 hours with minimal use of most functions and i make use oif he CM family of apps to manage apps and resources that run in the back ground.
I know that i can re-train the battery, to a certain degree as i am seeing small improvements every time. I have recent;y purchased a brand new generic 2100 Mah replacement battery from an Ebay Vendor that has over 50K transactions and a 99.7% positive feedback and i phoned them in Barking (near London) to discuss the retrurns policy and if the battery dosn't perform in the correct way then i get a refund, a new battery and get to keep the original. For £2.99 that's a good deal.
Now the phone is somewhat what 'laggy'. And has become more so as i've added severa; goole generic apps such as calendr, notes etc. Plus it's linked to severl social media apps and a few other apps that reiqre constant log in.
Considering all i have said i have some questions that i would be very grateful if you could advise me on the what to do
1) Should i root it?
2) Should a wipe it and install a custom rom with better apps designed for the particular device?
3) What is the best software and process to achieve the best results for questions 1 & 2.?
4) I have installed Sophos along side CM security, battery management etc.. What is the better option to manage security. I am a Barclay's customer and can get a free license of Kaspersky should i install that alone or is the there a better option?
5) there are a few power banks on sale on Ebay for around £12 that claim to have 50,000 Mah power capacity and several vendors sell one in particular Ebay item 201440708130 that can power 2 or 3 devices simultaneously. Are these any good?
6) Could you point me to a download for all the necessary files and step by step instructions as i know this smart phone can run well if loaded with the right software and i want rid of the Samsung bloatware.
7) I have a z3x box. Could i use this to unlock the carrier lock or can i do this as part of the rooting process.
Many Thanks
Drew
Hello,
Thank you for using XDA Assist
This forum (XDA Assist) isn't the right place to answer all your questions so I suggest you to copy/paste them in the Q&A section of your device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help
Nevertheless I don't recommend you to use CM (Cheetah Mobile) apps, battery management apps... and having root access will help you to lighten your system and RAM.
Best of luck!

[Q] Issue with Android Pay & Replacement Batery

Hello,
I ordered online (Amazon) a Samsung replacement battery for my AT&T Note 4, the replacement battery I received model is EB-BN910BBE while the original battery model is EB-BN910BBU, some web searches I did makes me think that the last letter in the battery model are related to its intended region; E for EU and U for US. Power-wise the new battery works fine, however when I try to use Android Pay the Point of Sales reports an error (the wording varies but basically the message is "select just one card") therefore I am unable to pay using Android Pay.
To troubleshoot I brought my old battery to the store and after being unable to pay using the new one I replaced the it with the old one (EB-BN910BBU) and I was able to pay using Android Pay. It is important to note that after the first time I had the error (before re-installing the old battery) I cleared all data from Android Pay and re-configure it with the new battery (in case that the NFC tag played a role in Android Pay Configuration), when I installed the old battery it worked without any Android pay reconfiguration (looks like the NFC Tag Id it is not part of the Android Pay configuration)
The Amazon Seller sent a second battery (same model) and not being an expert both EB-BN910BBE battery seem legit, print is clear, recognizable QR code, well trimmed and sealed.... And the issue happens with both batteries.
I wonder if NFC tag specs for Europe are different from US and that is the reason that the Point of Sales does not accepts the NFC tag that comes with the EB-BN910BBE.
Any suggestion/comments?
Thanks
I bought my spare battery from Samsung web site. Sometimes you can get lucky and get it a half price, just look on web for Samsung battery coupons. Works as it supposed too, NFC works too.
Thanks,
That was the first thing I tried at the Samsung site but the battery is not available at their store. (http://www.samsung.com/us/search/searchMain?Dy=1&Nty=1&Ntt=*EB-BN910BBU*)
So I got it from the Samsung Store at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Samsung/pages/2530342011)
I noticd some of the note 4 batteries are not nfc . are you sure your new battery is NFC
Yes I am sure, I am able to transfer pictures via NFC and read NFC tags

A way to tell the 'mileage' equivalent of a device? (usage history/battery cycles)?

Hi xda,
So I'm trying to sell my used google pixel -- 120gb (mint condition.)
The thing is -- that It's essentially brand new in terms of usage, it sat on my desk used sparingly for many months due to getting busy with life and
purchasing two phones with only meaning to keep one. And now that I want to sell it, I want to be able to convey that in my Swappa posting that its essentially more 'new' than the manufacturing date may imply.
Is there any statistic that Android carries onto the hardware/bios of the phone that cant be wiped/reset without some difficulty, that can serve the same purpose of an odometer in a car? (Or another example -- when you sell DSLR's used on the open market they often post things like 'shutter click count' sort of stats, to indicate the 'mileage' on the body of the unit).
I've looked into battery cycles but so far found nothing solid, hoping more android pro's know something that can help~!
Also ive looked into battery specific apps, but most seem to ask for root access, and while I can root it, I think some sellers might not prefer it, especially if it'd be only for the purpose of finding one or two statistics. Any other way, or are such stats essentially meaningless on android?
thanks!!
you could just say that it hasnt been used much. honestly, whats more important is how much warranty is left on the phone, especially the pixel since many of them have hardware issues popping up.
The only thing I've seen that comes close to what you're asking for i had on my galaxy s6. It was phone info Samsung app and it gave all kinds of info about the device including how many times the charger had been plugged in as well as the headphone plug. Mine had been plugged in what seemed like a ridiculous amount of times. I think it was well over a thousand, not sure how that's possible. I don't have root now so I can't get that stat out of it anymore. Not sure if there is something similar for other phones.

Need help with flashing a ripoff S8 galaxy

Hello, recently my grandparents purchased a "good deal" galaxy S8, well of course it turned out to be a ripoff, not only that, but the software is extra glitchy and crashes all the time, not to mention that its impossible to do anything in recovery mode, its upside down and only selection key works, cant confirm anything, so my plan is to install a custom ROM on it, on back it says SM-G950, but lets face it, its definitely not that, the back can be removed to see a glued in 1650 mAh battery (So big..), but the main problem lies within the fact that phone it self is absolutely unusable, at this point you cant even get inside the home menu.
Question is, what ROM would it accept, and what way should it be installed?
Cheers!
Update: The 2nd Version of phone is G920FXXU1AOBN (Galaxy S6)
so basically S6 made to look like S8
So the model is 920F and is supposed to have Mediatek 6578 processor, but this one has 6528 processor thus conflicting with firmware..

Switching android rom on cheap AliExpress phone

Hi. New here. Have learned a lot from this forum about using ADB and playing with my phone a bit.
I bought a cheap 100 and change android off Ali express. They sell smaller sized handsets which seem less common these days on the mainstream market.
The phone boasts good specs online. It has no brand on it or make model number anything. The back pops off old-school like and doesn’t say anything.
when I check the imei on imei.info it comes back to a
Make: I-MOBIL C
model: I-MOBIL DE CV
It’s advertised as an Ip13mini. I think it’s rooted. Comes with developer options turned on. No set up screen it brings you right to the Home Screen. It’s android. But the icon pack are iPhone icons.
it functions poorly. Connects to wifi but play store won’t download apps. Try to sideload app files and there’s an error. Try to debloat with ADB and it says —user 0 unknown or something.
The guy only responds with ‘my phone work normal’
what else. Oh. Even though you can’t do anything with the phone, the battery drains rapidly like, every few seconds it drops a bit.
Can I flash anothe rom onto this thing? The searching I did shows me download instructions for many roms android lineage etc but for specific handsets.
is there a generic stock android or any OS for that matter that I can put into this phone? And where can I find instructions on how to do the flashing?
I have a good laptop to assist me.
I got the 256gb version expecting a semi smooth android experience at least. I’ve had other cheap Chinese phones and some had stellar performance and zero bloat. I’ll attach a pic of the screen with its specs.
hoping to learn something new since I never flashed a custom rom before.
