My Redmi Note 6 pro was showing a delay in opening an app. My older phones were definitely not that slow.
So I thought something is surely wrong with my phone. after lot of investigation, I found that my sequential read speed of flash was slow. So It also slowed boot time.
I used "cross platform Disk Test" from playstore.
All other parameters were OK but the Seq read was nearly 5 times slow.
My mobile seq Read speed 34MB/S
My older mobile speed was around 135MB/S
The reference of other Note 6 was 200MB/S
Now I am not sure if my flash went bad ( which I feel unlikely) or its New update MIUI Global 12.0.1
is a problem.
Can someone here please test with "cross platform Disk Test", if your mobile has MIUI 12.0.1 and post results here. That would help me understand if the update is a problem.
I am attaching my mobile test screenshots.
Thanks

i made this thread to:
1)Discuss Mobile Browsers ONLY
2)Review These Browsers
3)Give Download Links To Them
4)Because We Needed It Lol
SO lets try to keep it organized on KEEP IT ON TOPIC. Dont spam my thread lol. Keep these rules in mind. Also, if a browser has been reviewed already, you CAN give it another review JUST MAKE SURE that you DONT have the same service as the reviewer did AND/OR you used a DIFFERENT data type.
Follow my simple rules and it should be all cool
Organization:
1)Browser Name
2)Phone Model and Service
3)Type of Data (EDGE, Wifi, 3G, etc)
4)Browser Review (and web pages tested)
5)Rating (1-5 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest)
6)Download Link
And well......Why make the thread if i dont intend on posting something. So here we go:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Opera Mobile 9.5 (Buile 1004)
T-Mobile Wing (HTC Atlas) with...of course...T-Mobile
Using WiFi (high speed lol)
Well lets see, Ive used Opera Mini for a long time and i decided i needed an upgrade. Then i remember hearing that Opera Mobile 9.5 was leaked. So i visited my favorite torrent site, gave it a quick search, downloaded it (its only like 4-5mb so it took like 2 minutes for bittorent to finish it) and installed it on my phone. Opera Mobile 9.5 has an extremely nice UI and its easy to use. I like the fact that the page goes to full screen when i tap on the background and i can bring up th menu to change the settings, bookmark the page, etc all easily.I visited this site (30 seconds to fully load), Myspace.com (took 50 seconds to fully load), and Google.com (took 7 seconds to fully load). Also, at first (for myspace) it loaded a form of portal. It gave me the option to load the full page of myspace, or the mobile version. The portal took 9 seconds to fully load and the mobile version only took an extremely short 4 seconds to load.
Opera Mobile 9.5 gets a definate 5/5 from me. It was fast, easy to use, and its Opera lol you cant go wrong with this browser.
Unfortunately, i cant provide a download link. Its leaked, google it lol. Dont want to get in any kind of trouble

Picsel Browser
T-Mobile Wing.....using T-Mobile
Using WiFi (of course)
Well welll well.......Its labled as "iPhone style web browser" in the herald forum. So i thought i would give it a try. It was actually a pretty decent browser. Easy to use, simple UI, and its speed was decent. Unfortunately it handles memory like a ***** and it got annoying after 20-30 minutes of browsing. But i still liked it. I tested this site (loaded in 39 seconds), myspace (loaded in 1 minute 33 seconds) and google (loaded in 15 seconds) But unfortunately, some of the pages were odd looking (myspace and this sites)
So enough said. Its a pretty nice browser but the memory control needs to be improved and loading big sites like this, myspace.....well basically any site with alot of links and/or images causes the page to come out weird. This browser gets a 4/5

Microsoft Internet Explorer Mobile A.K.A Pocket Internet Explorer A.K.A PIE
T-Mobile Wing.....do i need to even say the service again?
Wifi.....duh lol
Well here is the default browser your Windows Mobile device will come with. Not much to say. If you have ever used Internet Explorer, this one is no different. If your still using Internet Explorer.....something is definately wrong with you lol. Still testing the same 3 web sites. This sites (1 minute 4 seconds) myspace (1 minute 27 seconds AND IT DIDNT EVEN LOAD THE FULL PAGE.....WELL IT DID BUT YOU CANT SEE ANYTHING!!!!!!) and google (7 seconds)
And again, it loaded the myspace portal (taking 12 seconds to load that) the mobile page (in an amazing 5 seconds)
Well enough of that, lets give this browser a score......this browser gets a 2/5 (go figure )
Download Link:...............I wont even include it. Internet Explorer is that horrible of a browser. I have yet to try a worse browser (saving it for the 1/5 mark) but if i dont find one, this will get a 1/5
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
well thats all the browser im doing for now
I find PIEplus vastly improves the default version. even makes it almost usable, apart from that ive tried all the mobile browsers and until firefox devs pull theyre finger out opera mobile beats the rest hands down and if it wasnt for a few limitations imposed by the fact that its java then operamini would be just about perfect.
I remember a hacked version of OM 3.1 which had ponyential back a year or 2 ago but 4.1 lacks some basic functions.
just my 2 cents
download links to any opera browsers?
im on a wing and all I currently have is pIE ;/

i already do. lol. i volunteer to work in anything in my church. Ive subbed for choire members, for band members, janitors, etc
And i have a new summer job that pretty much rapes me of my money with all these stupid charges. Even though the minimum wage increase happened, im still walking about with practically nothing.
and food is soooo over rated. Get some kiva juice. Its made to "fill you up" even though its just juice/shake/whatever you got and its only like $5. You can easily live off of $5 a day........... ive done that for a solid month.
but still, none the less they will make it up.
Hello,
I've spent the last month trying desperately to find a free 2D (or 3D, but not required) graphics API I can use for high performance games on Windows Mobile. I initially set about trying to find a managed API to use, but now I've broadened my search to include any API (that I can call from C++ or .NET), and I'm still struggling to find anything.
The options seem to be:
- GDI: not nearly fast enough for high performance games
- DirectDraw: probably OK, but doesn't seem possible to use this on my HTC Touch Pro 2 due to memory problems (see http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/archive/2009/04/17/twisted-pixels-3-memory-mysteries.aspx -- I've got the same problem and have not yet found any way to work around this)
- Direct3D: no hardware driver on my Touch Pro 2, this renders about 0.2 frames per second in the samples, which is not good enough
- OpenGL: I've tried and tried, and can't get any samples working for this. The closest I've found is the tutorials here: http://www.zeuscmd.com/tutorials/opengles/index.php, but these all fail with an error, "Unable to create OpenGL|ES context" as soon as I run them (or alternatively using the "Ug" version, I get no window appearing at all).
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can progress from here? I really want to write some Windows Mobile games, but I can't even get started. :-(
Thanks,
Adam.
For 'better' graphics performance have a look at the 2D/3D Driver Development for MSM720X devices!
After installation of this driver pack try my OpenGL test app (source also available) found in my sig! Installing this driver pack will increase d3d performance, too!
Hi heliosdev,
Many thanks for posting the sourcecode for your OpenGL test -- I have that compiling very nicely here and producing very promising results too. I think this may finally be the answer I've been looking for.
Do you have any idea how much of a performance hit using PInvoke to interact with OGLES is likely to be? I don't know whether PInvoke is slow to use or not, but it strikes me that it may be slower use it hundreds of times per frame compared to coding directly in C++ and not needing to PInvoke at all..?
Thanks again,
Adam.
For comparison NuShrike implemented torus test in C++. As you can see the difference is 'minimal' even NuShrike optimized it using vertex buffer objects (I'm using standard vertex arrays and just triangles, i.e. no triangle strips).
Hi all,
I wrote the below message in HTC forum, but unable to upload picture
-----------------------------------------------------------
Dear HTC,
1) Refer to this webpage: https://www.notebookcheck.net/HTC-U11-Plus-Smartphone-Review.287370.0.html
The Androbench result under Oreo os is as follow
Random Write 4KB @ 135.69
Random Read 4GB @ 132.39
Sequential Write @ 207.94
Sequential Read @ 728.37
2) Refer to my attached picture
The phone is now under Pie os
Why does the Random Write speed being reduced drastically ? it is on 20mb/s now.....What is happening ?
Why does HTC do this ?
Please explain
Please revert the Random Write Speed back to the value same as Oreo os

My thread in HTC forum is this

Am really very disappointed with HTC
Hay everybody, 8 have multiple devices on my hand and I wanna take a real report on each device something like
Signal strength on different mobiles while connected to same WiFi / cell tower
.
I know how to do most of comparisons with each tool or app like : antutue, signal observer
But i was wondering if there an app there in the wild that can help aggregate such tests into 1 simple report or something or even if i can extract such info from a bug report..
Using multiple apps to get a summeraized report is a pain.
The phone is supposed to support dual-frequency GNSS.
Can someone use GPSTest (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.gpstest&hl=en&gl=US)
and show a screenshot that demonstrates that the phone can pick up both frequencies?
Attached screenshot, you can see L5 and E5a in use there.
Looks like the screenshot got lost in the mail ;-) But yet I can confirm that dual-frequency is supported.
B2a too
Dual-frequency GNSS works. Positioning in general seems to be quite fast and accurate outdoors, also in forests.
Unfortunately it does not record carrier phase data with GPSTest or other apps (only outputs zeroes), so post-processing (PPK or others) are not usable. Does anybody know whether a custom rom can help with that?
I've seen it couldn't output "Navigation Messages", is that what's missing ? The Mi 8 could do that though I think. Is it really worth doing post-processing with an Android phone though where you're going to be limited by the poor antenna ? What post-processing tools do you use ?
You're probably right about the antenna. I wanted to see how far you can get with this phone. For some of my applications it could be useful to have sub-meter or at least the best accuracy available.
I wanted to use https://jason.rokubun.cat/#!/
Thanks for the link, they do indeed mention Android Smartphones under https://jason.docs.rokubun.cat/examples/ and give instructions on how to log data with GNSS Logger (GNS Logger v3 keeps crashing on me, does it work for you ?). They don't mention Navigation Messages that the Mi 10 '(and all 765G devices) is not capable of but "measurements" should be ok. Did you activate the "Full GNSS measurements" in the Developer Options ?
PS - I tried to create an account on Jason but I'm not getting the confirmation email. I tried "forgot password" and got an email but it won't reset. Looks like the site might have a few issues !
GNSS Logger always crashed on my phone, too. I have successfully used "GNSS/IMU Logger" as well as "GPSTest" instead (I prefer the former but since the last MIUI update (12.1.3) it has some bugs). I have enabled "Full GNSS measurements" in the developer settings.
The site worked just fine for me. At first files from the GPSTest app were not readable by the engine but the developers changed this immediately. They have also been very fast and helpful with my problems so far so maybe try contacting them via mail.
Good to hear, so what phone were you using when you got your data processed by Jason ? I received the email so I'll give it a try with both GPSTest and GNSS Logger v2 with my Mi 10 Lite just in case.
EDIT : so the GPSTest recording was...empty so same problem as you it seems (or I did something wrong while recording) but the GNSS Logger file is 1.8MB and is currently processing but stuck on "Looking for closest CORS station" so I'm not sure what's going on.
Ah sorry, my message was unclear. I have produced valid rinex and raw log files with the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite but the fields with the carrier phase data were empty. Jason then still processes the files but the output data are not helpful, with positions way worse than what a standard gpx recorder delivers.
Jason usually didn't take long with my files.
Gotcha, I opened the log with excel and the CarrierPhase fields are indeed empty. Is that why we get the " Could not set-up parameters for PPP processing: Cannot perform PPP on Rinex because SP3 orbits for 2021-01-21 16:00:17.429569 could not be found " message in Jason ? That sounds more like a CORS station problem but anyway it won't help with our problem.
The result was indeed poor, worse than what I was seeing on GPSTest actually but I think GPSTest shows the "Android Position", i.e. fused GPS/WiFI/4G
By the way, which rom are you using?
I don't use 4G or Wifi for positioning.
Stock ROM with Miui 11.0.4.0
I'll try turning off data to see what that does to the position. It might be using the accelerometers too to keep it steady.
About the empty CarrierPhase data fields I wonder if the data isn't being made available differently after reading the paper made available here : https://www.researchgate.net/public...g_Xiaomi_Mi_8_Dual-Frequency_Raw_Measurements
Where it says : " Not all available public methods in these two classes are actually in use or of interest for satellite-based positioning. In fact, some variables (e.g., ‘CarrierPhase’) have been deprecated starting from API version 28 [11]"
EDIT : ok, what we need is the "AccumulatedDeltaRangeMeters" and it is indeed shown as 0.0 on the Mi 10 Lite
Looking for some Mi 8 logs now, I'm pretty sure I've seen some somewhere !
See here for example:
https://www.kaggle.com/google/android-smartphones-high-accuracy-datasets
From the "awesome GNSS" list. You can also find a list of device capabilities there:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jXtRCoEnnFNWj6_oFlVWflsf-b0jkfZpyhN-BXsv7uo/edit#gid=0
The Mi 10 Lite 5G is supposed to support carrier phase data /accumulatedDelta. It just seems like they are not calculated.
I'm sure you know the GPSTest group:
https://groups.google.com/g/gpstest_android
I'll leave the link for other interested people.
Yes I'm there too ;-) I just mentioned the GeolocPVT app, I managed to build it starting from the .aab, what a hassle ! Unfortunately it can't get a fix with the Mi 10, maybe because of the lacking ADR data ?
Talking of which I ran GNSS Logger v2 on a lowly Redmi 9 and...it logs ADR data ! I'll see if I can post-process some data with Jason.
Thanks for the links for the logs, the video presentation was interesting too. Do you know what the "Ground Truth Data" is ? A geodetic receiver getting RTK corrections maybe ?
I wonder if the Mi10 will ever get proper ADR data...have you had other Android phones that provide that data ?
Sorry, no. I didn't check with the Realme X2 Pro and now no longer have it.
