Which CID does it have?
Code:
(bootloader) cid: 0x00xx
use getvar all to find CID
Code:
fastboot getvar all

Just need to update to latest OTA and wait a bit.

Please update the device to the latest version and then initialize it.
You can then proceed with the setup online to activate it and get oem unlock working.

Thanks for asking. You need to have an active mobile data or internet for at least one week for the OEM unlock option become available in the developer settings.

72 hours in many cases, after connection to LTE or WiFi
Edit: Your CID should be good for unlocking, just have to wait.

After initializing the device, connect it to wifi and set it up again.
During the setup process, the device will be activated automatically.
After that, the oem unlock option will be enabled.
No matter how long you wait, the option will not be activated.

factory reset, and work. but dont can enter to recovery mode.
Try flash rom but recovery.img not exist

Recovery mode is not required.
Please do a factory reset.
After that, connect it to wifi and set it up.
The oem unlock should work.

What do you mean with "set it up again"? I did a factory reset, but that doesn't help. (I didn't expect it to help, because what happens then is the same as what happens after you unbox it and turn it on.)

After a factory reset, you have to go through the setup to reactivate wifi if you don't have a sim card in it and reenable Dev Options.

I did that. So I still have to wait several days until the OEM unlock option is enabled?

First, update your system to the latest version.
Then do a factory reset.
Be sure to connect to wifi during the factory reset.

I did update to the latest versiion, although I wonder why that is needed is you are going to do a factory after that.
Before and after the factory reset I hada working wifi connection.
The OEM unlock option is still unavailable. So I think I have to wait a few days, as others have mentioned.
It is strange, I never had to do that with my previous Moto's.

It's the new normal.
RetLA and a few others have had to wait, but now it seems to be every software channel.
After factory reset, connect to the internet.

If you have AL00 and Chinese ROM, your phone doesn't have oem unlock option in Developer settings. This option is on world ROMs only.
Just do command to unlock and you will be unlocked.
Has anyone figured this problem out? I'm in the same situation of wanting to rebrand to international, but can't get the bootloader unlock command to work. Thanks

What does 'fastboot devices' say?
If ur using Windows 10 try 8 or 7.
And you can enter in dialer*#*#2846579#*#* and change the usb setting to manufacture mode.
I had rebranded the chinese version (AL00)to international (L29 C636). OEM unlocking of developer option is absent on the chinese version. It is ok just to enable USB debugging to unlock bootloader. I have rebranded again back to original chinese version at last, because I like that "Screen Lock" icon on the chinese version.
Thanks all
i was able to unlock
Now i will try to rebrand from chinese to international

Hi, What did you do to allow you to unlock the Bootloader. I want to rebrand too, but having the same problems that you had. Thanks
I have successfully rebranded from MHA-AL00 to MHA-L29C432, but had a brick between the two with Unlocked Bootloader but Locked FRP...
If your phone can still boot but the "Enable OEM Unlock" setting is greyed out in developper options and is "FRP Locked", try "fastboot OEM relock yourcode" with you unlock code, it works instead of "lock" command which is not allowed, that way it would relock the bootloader and factory reset the phone, and after that you will be able to "Enable OEM Unlock", and unlock your bootloader again if you want to.
If your phone can't boot and is FRP Lock BUT you have TWRP working (hooray) simply try the manual rebrand by flashing manually no check recoveries and commands from the sh script, if not then try the Redlotus manual HiSuite flash which worked for me.

Read the previous page,no need to enable it for Chinese firmware.
I'm right at bottom of this ladder. Asked Huawei customer service for assistance, here is their reply;
Regarding your query, because the device is Chinese, it cannot benefit from the same features as an European one does. For example, Huawei Chinese devices do not have Google Play Store. Customers from China have a special website from where they download third party applications. Also, Chinese devices differ in both software and hardware specifications from the European ones, meaning that updates, boot loader unlock codes and many other features cannot be applied for the Chinese ones. We are sorry for the situation but the handset has been designed for the Chinese market and it cannot be modified.
True or false? Where do I begin please.

As much as I know once you updated into nougat rooted, the OEM function is greyed out but you will retain the unlock bootloader functions. Its the same with mine the oem function is also greyed out but I can use ADB Commands on it. Try booting into fastboot then use adb then type adb devices to make sure if its detected. If not, maybe you have no driver installed or hiSuite?

Then the oem function being greyed out means you already unlocked bootloader so adb commands must work without issues. Naybe try booting to fastboot then in adb enter command fastboot oem unlock.

This is not good my friend, and it must be annoying to wait like endless for oem unlock to show up.
I have experienced the same problem once, the vanishing oem unlock on Oreo binary 3.
But after 7 days it showed up right away, I even didn't had to restart my device.
If you live in Spain and have a spanish simcard you should flash an official filmware of your country but with the same provider of your simcard, like, (example) Spain T-Mobile.
Also log in with your google and Samsung account for the servers to update after the 7 days, then you should get rid of prenormal state and get oem unlock back.
Make sure the simcard network is active, and do not restart your Phone during the 7 days.
k so do you need to have frp lock off in order to start the 7 day timer? i'm locked out of 2 of my a8's that i flashed at the same time. one on binary 2 and the other on 3.. both have no oem unlock. How do i know what firmware my phones originally came with? and when i do that... where do i let them idle for 7 days waiting if i can't get past the google...
Hello
use tutorial that works to perfection with the latest update brk3 (walk with other update too). do not forget to remove the sim card before starting the flash

Flash stock with Odin then reboot to your recovery and do factory reset.
Reboot system and wait 168 hour you may not do any reboots during this time or you have to start over.
Check see if your oem is visible and follow rooting directions.

ok so here's what i picture this looks like... flash stock... reboot to recovery and factory reset... reboot to setup screen where it says "Start" and it just sits there? then after the 168 hours i turn it off and flash combination to see if oem unlock is there? or just restart to download mode and see if it's gone?
Try removing sim card .
When I got this phone I did all of the hacking first then when I was done I put sim card in phone.

[Guide] Unlocking the bootloader

The Nokia 7.2, surprisingly, comes with an unlockable bootloader. The information is shared by TechMesto and I am just re-using it to create this guide.
Notes:
Unlocking the bootloader may void the device's warranty.
All existing data on the device will be erased.
To unlock:
Update: Nokia has disabled the unlock ability with the December MR. You can only unlock if you downgrade your phone to an old release first. You can get it at Nokia Care or by buying remote flashing services.
Before you start: Make sure that you have platform-tools downloaded on your PC. You need to open a CMD or Terminal window in the folder where you have saved the platform-tools, unless you have installed them system-wide.
• First of all, enable Developer Options by tapping 7 times on BuildID in "About phone".
• Then go to developer options and enable OEM Unlocking option.
• Now reboot the phone into bootloader/fastboot mode. You can use the adb command:
Code:
adb reboot-bootloader
or else use hardware keys to reboot to bootloader mode.
• Make sure the phone is detected in fastboot mode. Then send the OEM unlocking command:
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
• Confirm the unlock on the phone.

Reserved for future use.
I am on a Nokia 7.2, a dual-sim variant with 6GB RAM and 128 GB ROM. The model name is TA-1196.
I am currently having issues with this method, whenever I try to flash unlock, prior to the V1.160 update, the fastboot will report back saying "Write to device failed (unknown error)".
If anyone would enlighten me I would be happy to hear.
Edit: Currently on build number 00WW_1_060
Edit 2.0: Works after updating to build 00WW_1_160. Seems Nokia enabled this method by mistake. Who knows?

That's okay, but the output you got wasn't appropriate for that command. If the unlock support isn't allowed it will say "flashing unlock is not allowed". Or in case the bootloader isn't including that command at all, it will say "Unknown command".
I might be wrong too, but your output isn't something i've seen on any of the phones i've owned, whether unlockable or non-unlockable. That output is what I usually get when the command is not proper, or the drivers aren't properly installed or the fastboot device isn't properly responding. Rebooting to bootloader should usually fix it. At least it does on other Nokia and Sharp phones.

You can use TWRP or patched image to root the 7.2
Can confirm that it is still unlockable. Got 2 of them today from Argos in the UK (Scotland). They are on 00WW_1_130 with security batch from 2019/08/05.
Only thing I had to do was enable internet and reboot to get the option to stop being greyed out.

Think we may be out of luck then, but one last suggestion. I noticed when reading through the thread on user indicated they were using "flash" instead of "flashing" when trying to unlock the bootloader.
I know I personally did the same thing at first. Did anyone confirm that "flashing" was used?
I know the older methods used flash. Just asking.

Question Have you unlocked it yet?

I think so too... it's not that easy for developers to buy before global release.
Hi I'm trying to unlock the bootloader, but when I log in to the Xiaomi Unlock Tool, I never received the verfication code that's supposed to be sent via a text messages to my linked US phone number. Other text messages went through fine so either XIaomi didn't send the code or my carrier (AT&T) blocked it. I tried a few other numbers and none worked. Did you guys need to receive the text message to verify your account when using the Unlock Tool? If yes, did you use a Chinese phone number or something else? A tried 4 different US numbers and none of them could receive Xiaomi sms. Thanks for your help!

Hi! How do I know when it's passed time enough to unlock it? Do I have to verify from time to time on the tool?
Sorry but I must be doing something wrong and different from the way I always did unlock bootloader. In Android 12, With Vol down + power the cell phone enters a different screen "Bootloader" that always allowed unlocking.
mi unlock software does not allow clicking the unlock button, fastboot devices and adb devices commands do not work in this mode.... How to unlock with these changes?

Run the unlock tool again, it will tell you how many hours left. Normally it tells you that 168 hours left at the first successful attempt, it also tells you do not logout miui account or try to login another account on your phone. Just be patient.
