Hello !
I purchased a OnePlus 8T EU Version (KB2003).
Since I'm reallly privacy focused, I installed official Lineage 18.1, rooted it with Magisk and enabled signature spoofing.
I managed to make everything work, but it seems like I don't have any 5G Enable setting.
I know my SIM is fine since the 5G works on another phone.
I switched SIM slot just in case.
I set the "NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/GSM/WCDMA" as preferred network and enabled DSS aswell.
I really tried everything I could to enable this, and I read every posts referring to 5G on OP 8T on XDA.
And I used CellMapper to check if I wasn't just a graphhical issue, but it's only connecting to LTE.
So do you know a way to enable my 5G please ?
Thank you in advance to everyone that are willing to help me on that issue !

Are you sure? If you actually have that model number, that's the EU model. If you are in the US, you'll be missing n71 and pretty much unusable n41 due to no CA with anchor bands. (At least with T-Mobile, I don't know the other carriers)

In that case, it should be working. Did you check cellmapper once you started a big download or do a speed test? Cell mapper will show LTE if you are nsa and are not actively using data.

Hi guys! I got OnePlus 6 (my first OP device) and I saw that on 5T there's WiFi Calling and VoLTE, but on OP6 is not and I couldn't find options to activate. I came from S8+ and I have both of them. Do you know something? There will be some updates about this? Thanks!
In your sim card/network settings in the op6 you should be able to find the option and enable them. With the networks I’m on I found I was able to do this.
That strongly depends on your carrier and the country you live in. In Germany, for example, VoLTE does not work with T-Mobile or Vodafone. In the US it does (T-Mobile).

Than you are the only person with german SIM and VoLTE working on OP6. In german Android Forum is a thread several pages long, where many people complain that OnePlus does not support it with a german SIM. Also the answer from an official ticket at OnePlus they answered they have no agreement with a german carrier.
https://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/oneplus-6.3336/volte-und-wifi-calling.877130.html
Has it worked out of the box for you ?
I am in USA and looking to activate TMobile wifi calling and volte but don't see it in settings? Normally it's just there after I put my sim in past phones

Edit. Nvm found it xD
Look under SIM card settings.

5.1.6 improves volte so that may help it has just started rolling out
It you font have this function in your SIM settings, just dial *#800#, then tap "oneplus Logkit", "Function Switch" and then tick VoLTE and VoWIFI Switch, reboot and voila...
Worked in Israel on Golan Telecom. I wonder why these options were invisible in the first place.
In Romania we have 2 carriers which support Volte, oneplus software dont have settings for it , i make to works for me like this its not my credit , i just found it on a german forum and it works like a charm :

1. MAKE a backup of the EFS partition over TWRP or ADB, and put it on safe place on computer or a cloud etc.
2. The Magisk module, must be installed: VoLTE / VoWiFi - Magisk modules
3. Install on your computer
Qualcomm QPST Diag x64 driver
QPST_2.7.460
4. Now you connect your mobile phone to the computer via a "USB cable"
5. Open the phone app and enter this code *#801#
6. Now a new menu appears and switches on "Serial" and "Full-port switch"
7. Start the program: "PDC" and connect it to your device
8. Right-click on "Oversea-Commercial_DS" under "Deactivate" and select "Sub0" and "Sub1"
9. Now press again on "Oversea-Commercial_DS" and below on Remove
10. Now select "India-VoLTE-Vodafone", right-click and select "SetSelectedConfig" "Sub0" and "Sub1"
11. Now press again on " India-VoLTE-Vodafone " and below on Activate
12. After you have done everything, restart the device!

Hey.
I just got my OnePlus Nord yesterday and was looking forward to test 5g connectivity. I am, however, not able to choose 5g as preferred network type. The only options I have are as shown in the attached picture.
I tried to follow some solutions for the OnePlus 8 found here: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/no-5g-option.1236228/#post-21689243
When enabling NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/GSM/WCDMA (after *#*#4636#*#* -> Phone) I am able to make the settings show I have enabled 5g(see attached image), however, the option is not selectable after pressing to change preferred network type. This is lost when rebooting the Phone, and the setting is set as 2g/3g/4g
I have confirmed with my carrier that 5g is activated and should be working on a Phone that is supporting 5g. I have also tried upgrading my software to 10.5.3. I can confirm that I am in a 5g supported area, as shown in the attached image.
Any ideas? Thanks

I have the EU version! I live in Norway.
Over here it works.
I live in the Netherlands and I'm running 10.5.4 btw.
I figured out my problem! Even through my carrier is supporting 5g, they are not, for some reason, supporting 5g/VoWIFI/VoLTE for OnePlus Nord.
In an email today they also wrote they would never support it, however, one of our newspapers have been in touch with OnePlus, who confirmed support for my carrier is on the way.
For any one else living in Norway, the carrier is Telenor/Talkmore.

Yep, same thing for Happybytes. Telenor claims it is OnePlus not having an agreement with them as well.
I have however managed to get VoLTE and VoWIFI working with the logkit hack. However I have not gotten 5G working with a hack yet.
5G is pants in London
Really low speed on 5G in the square mile in London in Three UK.. And no connection at all in Stratford to many users using 1 cell tower I expect.

Just figured in case anyone is curious regarding VOLTE on AT&T in the US.
To be clear, I have a "Global" variant of this phone. I believe its still technically a Japanese version? But it is an ROG variant and not a Tencent variant.
I am some what experienced with getting VOLTE on ROG Phone 2 as I was able to successfully. The good news is. VOLTE DOES work on AT&T. However, I had to activate it with *#*#3642623344#*#*
It doesn't show an icon on the top right that VoLTE is enabled, however, going into #*#*4636*#*# does show IMS is Registered and VoLTE is Available.
Calling does also sound like VoLTE is working and does stick on 4G during calls.
Cant seem to find the prop in ADB to always enable VOLTE yet, it seems different from ROG Phone 2.
Just thought I'd let anyone who is interested in the ROG Phone 5 and lives in the US.
I found something interesting. I Just followed the instructions that you did. After popping the sim card out and back in after enabling VoLTE the icon shows up in the status bar . I tried a reboot and it doesn't survive a reboot but it's a start in the right direction! Thank you!!!!

You dont have to be rooted for VOLTE to work. With the latest firmware it enables VoLTE without any kind of hack or user interaction. Haven't really gotten 5G to work but that might be due to where I am or I have to contact AT&T for it. but I do get 4G++ which Im guessing is close to 5G?

When I comment it's not release .
So we've established that VoLTE works on this phone with the latest firmware update. Can someone confirm that this means you can get this phone working on Verizon since they are decommissioning their CDMA network and that you'll need VoLTE to stay on the network?

I'm on the I005DC. However, the bands that I am able to use seem to be the US compatible bands as I currently see my phone using Band 12.
Did anyone's RCS break recently? Mine is stuck on "trying to verify".
UPDATE: After looking through logcat via adb, I've come to the conclusion that I've had too many provisioning attempts and am being rate-limited. I'll disable RCS for a week and hope it resets.

I just order t-mo oneplus 8 this afternoon and I just wonder what are the benefits and drawbacks for converting t-mo to global version?
Appreciate if someone can clarify these questions for me. Thanks.
Benefits
---------
1. faster/frequent security update
2. less bloatware from T-mobile
Drawbacks
------------
1. Bank apps might not work due to unlock bootloader?
2. Lost of 4G/5G bands? T-mo 4G/5G bands are different than Global versions.
Both of your benefits are correct.
both of your drawbacks are INcorrect, you can relock your bootloader after switching and 5g works fine.
there pretty much are no drawbacks. Switch to global.

There is no point in contacting Samsung Service Centre as the people there are not aware of the release of the exact schedule of this SA 5G Software release. And I am regularly watching the Sammyfans thread in Telegram where news regarding Software release come. But there also no updates in this regard appears. So the practical solution is to wait and wait.If you are hastey, the you have to ditch this phone and go for any other which are really 5G enabled. And that is one I am going to follow.

Dear sampatel,
Latest information. At I got SA 5G unlock today. There was no intimation for this in my phone.By intuition,I opened Settings/Connections/Mobile Network/Network Operators and selected Ind/Jio.Then the network is switched to Jio5G/LTE/3G/2G.Then I cross checked with My Jio App.Opened My Jio,went for Explore Jio True5G.There you go to Check Device Compatibility. There you will get a message "Congratulations, your device is 5G enabled."
You please check it and if you are lucky enough, you can enjoy Jio True 5G.
