Hi there,
after updating to the european version 11.2.5.5 to my chinese phone, a strange behaviour occurs: After a while of yousing I am no loger able to activat wlan. It instantly deactivates itself...after booting up, it works like a charm.
Any ideas?
Best
You could try clearing the system cache. Turn the phone off, then hold the power button + volume down button until a menu appears, input your passcode, select English and choose "Wipe cache".
That is an idea, I will try. Thx
Same. Chinese version converted to global by the seller, but I changed it to European. Actually, had the issue on both global or eu firmware.

Network data is poor, and WiFi is even poorer. A lot of the times WiFi doesn't connect and I have to force it or forget the network and connect again. Sometimes is shows connected but its still on network data.
No idea atm, anyone else experiencing this?

where to report
Hi,
what is the best way to report this bug?
by the way, about the solution I provide, you may need to do that more than once until it shows up.
I think the problem could be
1. any power saving feature come with the rom? which turns thing off?
2. wifi calling?
thanks
Same issue with data but can't get it to work with cm7. Tried the following:
Battery pull, power on and off, airplane mode on off , volume up and power button, pull sim ,
Able to enter apn information but no data

I just updated my tablet to the latest JB ZTO update avaliable for Brazil. Got the firmware directly from Samfirmware and used Mobild Odin (could not use OTA as I was rooted and had cwm installed).
The problem is that since the update the wifi connection at home seems to be slower and also unstable, disconnecting and reconnecting in certain moments. Anyone with the same problem can suggest a solution for this? I have recreated the wifi connection already and would like to perform a factory reset...
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have the same issue, my temporary fix was switching up my AP (dual band router) between the 2.4ghz and 5ghz, whenever it gets slow...
I've e-mailed samsung about it:
Thank you for contacting Samsung Customer Care.
We understand that you have an isue with wifi speed of the device after the jellybean upgrade.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Please remove the wifi networks from the device and try to add again and check for the result.
If the issue persists please perform the Hard Reset on the device. It will delete all the data in the device and bring the device to Factory Default Settings.

I've recently just hard reset my note, gonna see if I still have the issue.
Hi,
I had the same issue and i solved setting a static ip address (disable dhcp) for my wifi network.
Now the speed is rock solid on 30 mbits, instead of 2 mbits.
I have a Asus wifi router on 54G and i share it among several devices.

Did you set the static ip from the router or settings on the tablet?
My preliminary tests show hard reset did not improve the speed. My 5ghz AP speed was dropped last night, but that might be poor signal, I've set to 2.4ghz and will see how that hold out tonight. If that doesn't work, I'll try out the static IP.
I'm tempted to see if I can find an old radio from before JB and flash that on.
I'm surprised there aren't much talk about the issue.
Update:
Hard reset did not help, so don't bother. Using my trick of switch to my other AP fixed it temporary just like before.
Gonna try setting static ip on the android and see if that helps.
Update2:
Having set static ip on the tablet, speed seems to have held out.
If speed continues to be ok tonight, then I can confirm this fixes it.
Any idea why this fixes it? Is it an issue with the JB update's radio?
Last Update:
Yup, it's fixed.
Thanks for the static ip suggestion.
Time to get on Samsung's back to get this fixed.
I just installed Cyanogenmod 10 on my TF101 and every time I try to connect to my home network, it says 'Connecting' then it goes to 'Saved, secured with WPA' without the internet connection.
Did you wipe it (factory reset) in recovery before flashing? If not, do that and try again.
Also, try forgetting the network (long press on the network and forget from popup) then add it back.
Also try cycling power on your router
i fixed mines; not sure if it'll work on yours :s

Hi, ninjadan9! i had the same problem after flashing it with CM 10 Nightly, but after debugging on settings, i found a fix. i dont know if its a bug or what, but what i did was:
1) 'forget' my network
2) connect to it again(MAKE SURE YOUR SECURITY KEY IS ENTERED CORRECTLY)
3) if still says, "saved, secured with wpa" dont hesitate, you're still not done
4) on your wifi window, press your menu button
5) choose "advanced"
6)there should be a "wi-fi frequency band" choice, make sure its on "auto"
7) still not working? underneath the ''wi-fi frequency band'', there should be "wi-fi' region code".
8) i dont know if yours has a choice selected, but mines didnt. i chose, "United States" and VIOLA. when i went back, it says "connected" and my wi-fi sign finally showed on my status bar:laugh::good:
hope this helps!:fingers-crossed:
Hello there,
So first of all I'M NOT SO INTO TECH..SO PLEASE BARE WITH ME.
I have a Note Edge (SM-N915G - a Singapore Variant) which worked perfectly fine until a recent security update. After the update my phone won't just connect to 3G or 4G but WiFi works like a charm.
In network settings if I set the network mode to "4G/3G/2G (auto connect )" OR "3G/2G (auto connect)" I won't get any calls, text messages or data (though it shows E when data is turned on). If I set the mode into "2G only" everything works well, obviously data on E though.
So could someone help me to fix this?!
I've already done the following..
Tried different SIM cards..
A factory reset..
Cache partition wipe..
Trying the Safe Mood Boot..
Downgrading the firmware to the one before the security update (using Odin)
But NO LUCK!
Here's some further info if you need:
Android Version: 6.0.1
Android Security Patch Level: 1 August 2017
PS: MY DEVICE IS NOT ROOTED!!
Same issue with my galaxy note edge

Mom had the same problem with her note edge. Found a link that fixed it. Can't post the url but here is the info provided:
There is a known bug among some of Samsung phones. It appears that a phone that’s been connected to Wi-Fi for some time fails to automatically switch to mobile data network. Samsung has added a feature called Smart Network Switch to address this problem. Make sure that you have it enabled under Settings>Connections tab>Wi-Fi>Advanced settings>Smart network switch.
Some Galaxy phones have also exhibited smart network switch problems. If your initial problem remains, please do the following to delete the system cache:
Turn off the device.
Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, and Power.
When ‘GALAXY Note 3′ appears on the screen, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home.
When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home
Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache.
With ‘reboot system now’ highlighted, press the Power key to restart the device.
Some forums noticed that other phones may continue to experience the same problem even after deleting the system cache because the reason lies on some installed apps. If nothing works for you at this point, consider doing a factory reset and observe how the phone behaves when no third party apps are installed. If the problem fails to occur, install one app at a time until you can pinpoint which one is to blame.
The same has happened to mine note edge too.
Its really annoying that samsung is not addressing this issue.
The exact figures match with security patch 1 august 2017 and android version 6.0.1 did downgrade my note edge to kitkat still of no use. It does not keeps on to 3g/4g and works flawlessly on 2g but the network speed sucks as on 2g. Please resolve the problem even if the possible solution is to root and upgrade my device

Nothing happened even after all of y hese steps.
Still stuck with 2g only.
I was hoping to find some answers here to a strange problem that's happening with my Poco X3 NFC.
This hasn't been much of an issue before due to WLAN coverage, but I'm more in need of mobile data right now, and wanted to use LTE instead of 2G or 3G which is quite slow in comparison. My provider does support LTE, I've checked everything on that end.
Whenever I turn on LTE, my phone immediately is stuck, gets a black screen and reboots to the recovery menu. After that I have to set everything to airplane mode quick, disable it, and then disable mobile data very fast to stop the loop. There's absolutely no such problem with 2G or 3G set, but as soon as I use anything LTE related it's stuck.
I've tried a factory reset, I've tried no SD card, I've tried both sim card slots. I've also tried every possible LTE combination set via *#*#4636#*#* and it happens with each and every one.
I've gotten messages and pages to load with LTE in my status bar, so theoretically the connection does work. It's just the bootloop afterwards that makes everything completely unusuable.
My phone is out of the box, nothing custom done or rooted. I thought that maybe a few MIUI updates would fix it because there were loop issues, but nothing helped so far. I'm running MIUI 12.0.8.0 stable right now, Android 10. I do have warranty, but first I'd like to know whether the issue might be fixable on my end.
Thanks in advance!
