Question How to root Poco X3 Pro MIUI V12.0.6.0.RJUMIXM Global? - Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro

Hi,
My poco x3 pro v12.0.4.0 Global was rooted because I was able to download the fastboot version of the v12.0.4.0 Global so I extracted the boot.img from fastboot rom and got root with the magisk patched boot.img method but now i have updated my phone to V12.0.6.0.RJUMIXM Global and root is gone and there is no fastboot version of this rom is available. so how i can root my poco x3 pro V12.0.6.0.RJUMIXM global?

The boot image should also be inside the recovery ROM.
If it's not, here's a nice list of methods on how to extract your current boot.img for patching in Magisk: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/extracting-stock-boot-recovery-and-persist-images.4058447/
When trying out the "dd" method in recovery, keep in mind that current recoveries cannot decrypt data yet, so you'll have to mount the SD card first (in your recovery's "Mount" menu), then in the dd command change the "of" parameter from "/sdcard" (which, deceptively, points to your internal storage) to "/external_sd".

Yeah, but I did it with the recovery version of this rom.

I am still running MIUI 12.5.5 Europe, RJUEEUXM, my question is about the wait period to unlock bootloader.
There is a theory and a how to that implies replicating, no, creating a second MIUI Xiaomi account in the same machine, then, by a relatively simple process, by changing between the two, get to open the bootloader as usual.
I used to be a Samsung guy, where everything is simple, Sony, rooted some, Chinese minor brands, OnePlus5.
So the question is a dual one.
First, xiaomi cloud has only 5Gb, nobody expects to sabe more than the fundamental partitions and use sdcard to install Twrp and the next steps. Is it possible to unlock it in a successive, uninterrupted process?
Second, about OnePlus5, I pushed the botton install OTA by mistake, with a magisk 22. 1, XXX Rom, cloudflare and minor tweaks, perfectly running, phone, and, by hook or by crook, got the phone with oxigenOS, functioning, but in between, like a limbo, by using Android Tools Linux it identifies the phone, but Fastboot mode isn't available, I've tried to get a similar problem from someone that had solved it, but could not. So I cannot nor close the bootloader nor install a custom recovery...
It reboots, and recovery and Fastboot mode are red.
You change and it skips. End.
As a suggestion, should I get a good phone to install a AOSP or another top ROM, like Samsung, I've never came close to light brick with the brand, in the way things evolved, Huawey P30 light or any, no codes by the Brand, I don't feel this phone rooting, but actually, MIUI and optimization conflicts with micro G, I had a redmi note 2and life at Xiaomi was better.
Well this a statement, sorry.
Should I get root and Magisk Hide, should it pass the tests? Enough to use banking apps, insurance and other safeguards?
Obviously this is not a reply, rooting is described in several how too...

Going from 11.0.15.0 to Poco X2 11.0.7.0

Could anybody share how can I move from MiUI EU ROM for K30 11.0.15.0 to Poco X2 official build 11.0.7.0?
I installed EU ROM as I found flashing ROM with TWRP was easier than using Mi Flash tool, in case we want to switch between ROM's. But, after I installed 11.0.15.0 I figured lot of the custom ROM's do not boot after flashing them and phone boots into fastboot mode (except couple of ROM's). So, I have been looking at how switch back EU MiUI ROM from 11.0.15.0 to Poco X2 11.0.7.0. The issue am facing while flashing using Mi Flash tool is that it gives error of ARB (Anti rollback error: 2, also I checked the same by issuing fastboot getvar anti, it says 2), and I am not sure how to get past this.
Could someone please help me with this?
I think your device is triggered with anti-rollback. So you cannot install any rom with build less than 11.0.15.0 that is poco x2 11.0.7.0 cant be flashed. So, you have to wait until new poco build greater than 11.0.15.0 and then flash it. Until then, flash your existing rom or some custom rom. Do it carefully and dont ever flash older roms from now, if something goes wrong, your device will hardbrick and you will have to go to service center where they have authorized EDL access to your device to flash things. Best of Luck.
You can use full recovery rom zip 11.0.7 and flash it via twrp. In 11.0.7 zip make sure you change the devicename in script from phoenixin to phoenix as twrp is pheonix.
After flashing you will be on stock 11.0.7 and stock recovery.
If you want to try custom roms , you can just flash the stock vedor zip of 11.0.07 and then flash any aosp custom rom.(you can find this zip in telegram channel/github)

@eagle06 am worried about 11.0.15.0 > 11.0.7.0 which will trigger ARB as @vivek12341 has pointed out and it will hard brick the device, from what I have read around, hence this post if anybody knows a way out. There seemed to be workarounds initially when Xiaomi introduced ARB, I have not seen anybody mentioning such things in recent times especially for MiUI 11.
The reason why I moved to 11.0.15.0 is was, as it has no bloatware etc, and I did NOT know about ARB, now that I have 11.0.15.0 most of the custom ROMs are based on Poco X2 11.0.7.0 and I am facing issues flashing ROMs based on 11.0.7.0, as the format data from TWRP does not wipe properly + I see 98% of the time device goes to fastboot mode even if I flash Poco stock recovery and clear the data, seems like 11.0.15.0 is also an issue
May be I will have to wait till Poco releases updates > 11.0.15.0 or for MiUI 12. Actually I still dont know, not many know much on this subject.
crDroid works without any issues (which is what my current daily driver, its a very stable ROM), flashing on 11.0.15.0 after clearing data, also any ROM whose dev releases fastboot ROM's those also I can flash and boot without issues, rest all ROM's dont and end up back in fastboot mode

You should flash back to China rom (V11.0.15.0.QGHCNXM) using miflash and install TWRP-3.4.1B-0322 using fastboot. After that you can flash all custom roms as normal. I have tried almost all the custom roms and they all work without any problem.
Lol.. Bro i am on miui 12 beta and went back to 11.0.0.7 via twrp flash...
Just download this http://bigota.d.miui.com/V11.0.7.0....NGlobal_V11.0.7.0.QGHINXM_9c232b802a_10.0.zip
Open that in pc, modify the script and rename device name to phoenix from phoenixin.
On twrp format data.. Then reboot to twrp again, tranfer that zip file and just flash. You will be back on stock global 11.0.0.7
Also crdroid as you mentioned has custom vendor which is different from china eu or global one.
If you want to use fastboot zip then you need to use https://www.xiaomitool.com/V2/ to overcome antirollback error.

1. Which script are you talking about? I could not find any script. check attached snapshot.
2. And to do this step from TWRP to flash 11.0.7.0, do I need to be on MIUI EU ROM or I can flash from any custom ROM too?
3. You were on MIUI 12 beta (official global) and changed devicename from phoenixin to phoenix and flashed using TWRP after formatting data, without hitting ARB issue? Wow!
4. You mentioned https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=82502389&postcount=3 Telegram/Github where we can get official vendor zip which we can flash from TWRP, any links to that?
5. Is there a Redmi K30 global ROM which I can use instead of Poco X2, they should be same right?

As a final resort will go to China ROM V11.0.15.0.QGHCNXM (this will be chinese right?) or this itself is global K30 ROM? Any links to global official MIUI K30 ROM, all I get is K30 chinese ROM
Sorry, I am asking too many questions, I do not want to brick phone in these times and go stand in queue at Mi service center during these times, when the servicing engineer will touch my phone all over

Its in META-INF/com/google/android/ file name updater-script. Change getprop("ro.product.device") == "phoenixin" || this to getprop("ro.product.device") == "phoenix" || . Why we are doing this? because we are using k30 twrp.. there is no special twrp for poco x2. phoenix = k30, phoenixin=poco x2

It is a chinese rom. You can select english as your default language. It really doesn't matter as you are going to wipe it anyway if your purpose is to use it for flashing custom roms.

Bro If you want to use fastboot zip then you need to use https://www.xiaomitool.com/V2/ to overcome antirollback error. Connect device and enable usb debugging and proceed.
Mi flash tool doesnt work for poco.....you always get that rollback error.
For fastboot zips use above tool.
For recovery zips use twrp.
Both methods flash the same thing and twrp will be replaced with stock recovery.

Thanks, really appreciate your quick revert. I am trying out with xiaomitool now. I know TWRP method is simple, just edit/change the devicename. But, I am **** scared after seeing ARB error so many times. So using xiaomitool as you mentioned use it to overcome ARB error. I will update how it goes.
I thought Xiaomi is dev/custom dev friendly, seeing all these errors, no wonder why people resent MiUI so much, of course the hardware + price is good. From my search even Google on their devices is not this harsh about ARB blocking after unlocking bootloader.

Oh! yeah I am back in Poco 11.0.7.0 image, xiaomitool worked without issues. Thanks to you!!
@eagle06 do you know in this entire image (attached file) list (from tgz file) which is fastboot file? The reason I ask is, in Poco X2 in fastboot mode I see a single deadpixel, whereas when I was in EU MIUI I never saw that dead pixel. I plan to replace that file with EU MIUI fastboot image file, so when am in fastboot, it is clean without any dead pixels.
That small white pixel in fastboot is normal. All users have it including me.

Yep right that is the one. When I was on EU Miui, that one did not have, hence asked which is the image file for fastboot, thought I would flash that or replace next time I flash Poco stock when I am installing new custom ROM.
Yes, its a trivial thing can be ignored, does not really bother or harm.
BTW, so now that I am back in Poco X2 stock (On top of that I have installed BlissROM), next time I have to flash I can use either TWRP or Xiaomitool/V2.
1. For TWRP, I need to rename devicename to phoenix from phoenixin in updater-script and flash it using TWRP after clearing data
OR
2. I can use Xiaomitool/V2 with ADB debugging on (same step as last time)
Just check fastboot getvar anti for my phone, it also says 2. There is no problem for me flashing china rom with miflash. I have successfully flashed it 4 times before.
Good to have another way of flashing - will try the xiaomitool next time. :good:

If I had flashed using TWRP, I might have been holding a 200gm brick in my hands LOL. Got lucky by using Xiaomitool/v2 then Thanks to you. I will stick to Xiaomitool for flashing stock ROMs hence forth.

Workaround for CMI Mi 10 Pro 5G Global Custom ROM & Root eg MIU 12

There is a problem while rooting and installing TWRP recovery on the MI 10 Pro 5G (German-Version ROM Global). If you try to install TWRP you will not be able to get into the recovery. If you try (Vol up + Power) you`ll only able to start the MIU-Recovery.
Also I got some problems to get google pay to work, but this way works for me.
Before we start the disclaimer " I'm not responsible for any damage / bricking / ... If this way fails on your phone"
How to install MIU 12 EU CMI to get Dual-SIM, MIU Phone-App,...
You need:
- an unlocked boot loader
- a working ADB on Win / Mac / Linux
- TWRP I took this one HERE
- a custom ROM I took the weekly EU-ROM because I want Dual-Sim, the regular MI-Caller and the other cool stuff. You could find it HERE take the one for MI 10 Pro!! Alternativ MIU 12 ROM (tested)
MIU 12 EU stable Vers: 12-10 get it here
1 Step:
connect your phone to your computer and copy your "new" ROM to the device
2. Step:
Power off phone > hold Vol down + Power and reboot in Fastboot-Mode
3. Step start TWRP in a different way
fastboot boot "link to your TWRP Recovery"
EXAMPLE: fastboot boot C:\Users\neunzehn\Desktop\ADB\TWRP\recovery.img
now you boot TWRP from you computer without installing, so if anything goes wrong you are able to plug of and reboot in Fastboot.
4. Step flash ROM
DON`T UNPLUG YOUR PHONE!
choose your preferred language in TWRP and flash the ROM you put on the Phone before
5. Step
Reboot your Phone.. it will stuck /reboot (don't get nervous let it happen for e few times)
Press " Volume up + Power" you get the MIU Recovery choose " Wipe Data"
6.Step
Wait that your phone boot is complete , in my case it tooks 10 Min... after that you got your Custom-ROM
How to root without losing Bank-Apps, Safety-Net
You need:
- an unlocked boot loader
- a working ADB on Win / Mac / Linux
1. Step:
connect your phone to your computer and copy your Magisk v20.2 to your device IMPORTED only use Magisk 20.2 you can get it HERE
2. Step:
Power off phone > hold Vol down + Power and reboot in Fastboot-Mode
3. Step start TWRP in a diffrent way
fastboot boot "link to your TWRP Recovery"
EXAMPLE: fastboot boot C:\Users\neunzehn\Desktop\ADB\TWRP\recovery.img
4. Step flash root
DON`T UNPLUG YOUR PHONE!
choose your preferred language in TWRP and flash the Magisk.zip you put on the Phone before
5 Step reboot
Reboot your Phone. After Reboot start the Magisk-App and disable "automatic-update / search for update" and make the safety-net test.
Done...
PS: In 8 years of flashing I never have seen this behavior, don't ask me why this is actually the best way to get a stable CR on your phone. I tried this way on 3 MI 10 Pro 5G bought in Germany (Telekom, Media Markt, Ebay) with the awful Global ROM
CREDITS go to: XDA and MIU for ROM and TWRP
Article UPDATES:
06/25/20: Link to TWRP was broken > corrected
06/27/20 added workaround to root
07/02 added stable 12 MIU EU-ROM (all languages are supported)
Interesting, must then be specific to the German edition of the phone as I didn't get this with my (Global) Mi 10 Pro !
Following your description it seems as if flashing TWRP does not work, what are the commands you used ? It should be "fastboot flash recovery <twrp_file.img>"....
As an idea: what would happen if you boot TWRP as in your step 4, then copy the TWRP file to the phone and install TWRP from TWRP ?
Thanks, nice to know, i even got my phone from mediamarkt in germany.
Could you please tell me, is the phone encrypted after you've flashed Xiaomi.eu?
AND, is google pay working?
thx

You have to encrypt it at the first boot via your MI-Account , Yes Google Pay works for me and also Postbank, Moneese, and im able to "disable" the Exposure Notification Framework ( the discussion on SWR / WDR / NDR in Germany about GPRD / Security of the Covid-STuff)

it's been like this for years now, just google "twrp replaced by stock recovery xiaomi reboot" you'll find lots of reddit posts of this happening.
i only do this once when buying a new device so sorry I don't remember exactly which one but there are two ways to reboot after installing the recovery and one of them prevents the device from overwrite the recovery, if I remember correctly
1- run "fastboot reboot" and hold volume up
2- hold power and vol up until the device reboots and boots to recovery
on another note, this section is for development not tutorials and general discussions

Thank you neunhzehn77 !!! U saved my day
Now folks let me tell you something...
I´m not new to rooting phones anyway and i did try several ways to get the xiamomi.eu custom rom on my Mi 10 Pro.
I failed every single time.
Then asking neunzehn77 for specific help on my flashing situation in a private chat.
This guy explained to me some of the "super-partition-features-issues" and cleared his guide for me.
What can i say... i truly folled his guide step-by-step and i´m now on xiaomi.eu beta MIUI 12 rom in no time.
And again thank neunzehn77 for saving my MIUI-Rom-experience for good.:victory:

If you follow your guide, you will lose essential-stuff like some Banking-Apps, Google-Pay,... and some more. I tried your way on a "German MI 10 Pro 5G" and get random boot-loops... maybe there is an unknown difference between CN ,EU, Global Versions. I don't know... for me your guide isn't working... but maybe that's a way for CN/US bought MI`s
In my case its better to leave the Super-Partition untouched, to get unwanted effects.
Thanx for sharing Mate...

Thanks for this valuable feedback. I have to put up a warning for EU users then.
Can you remember what exactly it was that lead to errors or problems? And which TWRP did you use? xiaomi.eu's modified one or LR.Team's?
Also, how exactly did you flash magisk?
On my CN CMI I also had all these problems, when touching the super partition. That's common as soon as you modify the super partition: https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/twrp-and-system-problem.56103/
Do you remember what exactly you did differently from my guide in order for you to make it work? I could incorporate that into the AIO Guide on XDA.

Hello, does your friend in Switzerland have 5G working ? I happen to be in Switzerland too (carrier : Sunrise), everything works smoothly but 5G... Thanks for your answer.
AFAIK all custom ROMs based on CN, so no 5g..
@neunzehn77 I have a question for you. I just unlocked the bootloader of my Mi 10 (yes not the pro, but the principle is the same). I bought it through Orange in Belgium and it is the Global version, I suppose it must be similar to yours. I see that you didn't format or wipe when flashing a new ROM and all other guides I find do format /data. Isn't this necessary when going from the official ROM to a Xiaomi.EU ROM? The problem with your workaround would then be that the ROM you put in your storage would be gone. I am used to flashing Oneplus devices, but this is something else... It really confuses me.

Hi, I'm on the verge of trying to flash xiaomi.eu ROM on my Mi 10 (Global - Belgium) and rooting it afterwards. The problem is that I'm a bit afraid of getting an error or a bootloop and not knowing how to recover from it. I'm not familiar with Xiaomi because I always had a Oneplus device before. How did you fix it? Did you format /data like other guides suggest? Or did you just "dirty flash" xiaomi.eu on top of the stock ROM like in this workaround guide?

No no.. when you switch to custom you have to start all over. So wipe and format(make cloud backup ?)

I used the latest LR team TWRP (3.4.2B wzsx150 from june 23) and it worked out fine with my global (European) version of the Mi 10. So this workaround is not needed anymore I guess.
1) I fastboot flashed this TWRP version
2) Booted to TWRP
3) Formatted /data
4) Rebooted to TWRP to be able to acces the internal storage
5) Transferred and flashed the Xiaomi.EU stable build of August 10th
6) Rebooted to system.
Everything is working fine, I am rooted using Magisk 20.4 with some modules and even swift installer is working great.
Cheers

just remember, on android 11, you cant use normal magisk 20.4.
You need to use canary builds.
Also Android 11, twrp cant decrypt using pincode... you need to set up , gesture

can we flash poco x2 rom to unlocked redmi k30 via mi flash tool? need some help guys

hello. i want to convert my redmi k30 to poco x2 . my redmi k30 is currently bootloader unlocked.. can i flash poco x2 rom in it via mi flash tool ? is it safe? i mean ,any chance of accidental bootloader relock and bricking.? i will ofcourse select 'clean all and flash ' . is there any script to be modified for pheonix ? thanks in advance
Why would you want to do that? Is there any benefit? Just curious since as far as I know convert to Poco X2 the phone will lose NFC and gain nothing.

I think it's should be ok but I have used xiaomi EU 12 and notice no lags and hiccups at all. Or you could try an AOSP rom with Gapps like Havoc or MSM Xtended, this is much safer than trying to convert from 1 model to another.

first of all, do it at your own risk.!!! have the latest twrp installed. get the twrp flashable indian stable rom zip downloaded. extract the zip file> META-INF>com>google>android>updater-script . open this updater script with notepad and edit the product name of first two lines from 'PHOENIXIN' to "PHOENIX" .do it for every PHOENIXIN ,for first two lines only. thats it. save the file and repack the zip again and flash.

actually, i dont know much about mi flash tool or fastboot rom flashing. its dangerous and confusing. TWRP flashable zips are fully safe and easy ! as far as i know, you can only edit the flashable zip's script. mi flash tool method doesnot allow script editing as far as i know. better you make a post yourself at QnA ..thanks....

It did not work
On Xiaomi.eu there's a table that show K30 does not have anti-rollback, so I don't think your problem is related to anti-rollback.

Indian variant of K30? Isn't that just Poco X2? Otherwise K30 is a Chinese-only phone, no other variant.

Can't say for sure but I think if K30 doesn't have anti-rollback then Poco X2 wouldn't too. Also have you install Qualcomm USB driver? This show up after I google "flash crclist error". Other solution is create a folder named "log" in MiFlash folder. Try these.

I have installed all the drivers via miflash 5 times but I have not tried the log one . I will try this method on this coming Saturday and then update ( it would be very helpful if you shared the link as I have practically gone through every result and still couldn't find the 'log' folder one )

That solution is shared by the Mi Vietnam community. I haven't encounter problems like yours so I don't know if it's work or not.
This is what I usually do: Install MiFlashPro on the E drive, extract the fastboot rom on the root of the drive (E:/ rom folder) then install. The install went smoothly.

Crclist error is shown when the path of the rom is too long/complicated, move the rom to desktop then try.

Question How to flash the file miui_VEUX_V13.0.1.0.SKCCNXM_077f616321_12.0.zip

How to flash the file miui_VEUX_V13.0.1.0.SKCCNXM_077f616321_12.0.zip
I have downloaded the rom file in zip format. How can I install without any custom recovery. I can't find twrp, orange fox recovery for this device. Then how to do it?
No offence but if you don't know this information then chances are you've also downloaded the incorrect ROM for your device on accident too. There are multiple guides here on XDA and even a couple in this subforum for flashing using fastboot - check those out but PLEASE make sure you use the correct ROM because MIUI is not very forgiving if you flash an incorrect one and unfortunately we can't recover from a hard brick.

You have rom for recovery and for fastboot.
If you dont have lineage recovery where you can use "adb sideload" ,then
you need fastboot version -you can flash it via fastbootd
recovery rom - flashable via custom lineage recovery "adb sideload"
fastboot rom - flashable via fastbootd
and last option is for pro - you can extract payload.bin from recovery version (via python) and
then you can flash every partition (like boot, recovery, vb_meta, super/system etc...) in fastbootd

If you're talking about Xiaomi eu rom (I assume because of the file name), they use veuxg as the codename for redmi note 11 pro+ 5g (India/Global) / Poco X4 pro 5g (India/Global). the veux codename will only work on the redmi note 11e china. For the roms for these devices, we'll have to wait for a release compatible with our devices. (This nomenclature is only used by Xiaomi eu, as far as I know, veux roms should work on all three devices for other roms).
If you wish to know how to flash these roms, refer to this thread

Yes, and it is incompatible with Indian device
As of right now, Chinese and Global devices are being treated differently by Xiaomi, Chinese devices have Android 12 firmware with the sdn chipset, however the Indian and global siblings do not. They are different firmwares for Chinese and Global right now, and due to the nature of these releases, they are not cross compatible, I tried flashing Chinese Android 12 firmware for veux onto my Indian RN11Pro+ 5g, and got my device bricked. Flashing different region firmware is not recommended at the moment.
