This is a life saver for parents
o to Settings - sound and vibration - Seperate App sound (all the way at the bottom)
turn on and pick the app you want(limited to 1 app at a time)
Then choose the location (I chose Music to bluetooth)
This way I can still listen to music and be able to hand my daughter my phone so she can watch youtube
Impressive, didn't think of that as a use case. Although I don't think I'll be handing anyone my phone just yet
For example (?) : can you watch a video/broadcast mute (sport game), and listen TuneIn ( running commentary ) at the same time ?
Actually android is deeply missing basic audio mix table !
Also can you (lucky owners) tell us if :
-AKG earphone are ip68 waterproof ?
-Google Music can be uninstall/disable ?
-is embedded EQ working with any browser/video app ?
Thx for sharing...

The only one I can answer is that yes Google play music can be uninstalled

I have a specific question/problem related to this:
Currently I have Google Play Music assigned to Bluetooth.
This is cool because in the car, I can play music - but then play a game or something at the same time.
HOWEVER.....
In order for this to actually work, you have to go to the audio connections hub thing in the notification shade.
And switch your audio output to the phone.
THEN with the audio output set to the phone - itll use the override and send the play music to bluetooth.
You seemingly have to do this every time (I even used Tasker and Autotools custom settings, trying to detect which setting gets changed and make it automatic.... but couldn't see a related changed setting in the settings lists).
A bigger problem though, amidst my messing around to try to make this work better....
I selected "turn off connections manager" option.
Now I don't get that stuff in the notification shade at all.
And I cannot find a single setting that lets me access it again!
So now I can never use separate app audio.
Can someone help me!?!?!?
I have found this feature usefull for SatNav.
I have the phone connected to car bluetooth, so ALL audio on previous phones goes to the car - so as im listening to streaming radio etc, the satnav voice from TomTom kicks in and can be quite annoying - especially as I only want the voice for traffic and speed cameras.
With this feature, I can still stream music to the car but have the audio come through the phone speaker - well done Samsung

Same, once disabled there doesn't appear to be a way to get it to reappear

Give SoundAbout a look. There isn't much it can't manage.
One of my issues with the Google ChromeCast is that when the phone is used as a source, all audio is sent over that ChromeCast connection.
You cannot divert the audio to Bluetooth for bluetooth speakers/headphones.
Does anyone know if this new Samsung feature will allow you to divert ChromeCast audio to Bluetooth?
That would be pretty darn cool if it did.
EDIT: Btw, I don't have the Samsung phone.
I was linked here from a Google Pixel thread. But I'm really interested to know the answer to my question above.

Download Sound Assistant from Samsung in the play store. When you adjust volume hit the icon and then expand the window. To the right of the app volume slider you can switch sound output.
Found the "Audio output" control! Yess!!

Thanks to the post above I was finally able to find the setting to enable the option to select the Audio output on my phone (Samsung S8+) see pictures attached. So if you've lost the option to select the audio output of you S8 follow these steps. (Not to be confused with with Separate app sound, which routes different apps to a bluetooth or phone output)
Find the Samsung Connect app
Click on the three dots to bring down the menu
Tap Settings
Tap Samsung Connect panel
Ensure this is turned on
Tap on Always show
and Finally tap on Audio output << This is the one! :good:
It's been known for a while that, on the original Lollipop-based stock Rom for this phone, when the screen rotation was in secondary landscape mode, the audio mix would be adjusted accordingly so that the right channel of audio would be played out of the top speaker and the left channel of audio would be played out of the bottom speaker (for all other orientations, the left channel would be played out of the top speaker and the right would be played out of the bottom). Unfortunately, this seems to have been broken as of the official Marshmallow stock Rom release on the phone, and nobody has found a solution...
Until now! I happened to be reading a thread from 2015 in XDA's NEXUS 6 forums, in which somebody actually complained about the momentary period of silence that would occur during this transition. Senior member springer.music stepped forward with the answer saying that "ro.audio.monitorRotation" in the build.prop was the location of the hidden setting for turning this feature on and off. Changing it to "true" yields the desired effect, allowing the stereo mix to be corrected in landscape. Turns out that the same value is just as relevant under Marshmallow on the Pure Edition as it was for Lollipop on the NEXUS 6!
Here's a direct quote of springer.music's original post with further background:
springer.music said:
Code:
ro.audio.monitorRotation=true
If I got it right, this makes it so that the left speaker always plays the actual "left" audio channel and the right speaker plays the "right" channel in landscape mode regardless of the screen position (landscape or reverse landscape).
If this were not in place, when the device is in reverse landscape, the left speaker would play the "right" audio channel, and the right speaker would play the "left" channel.
In order to avoid this, the system must swap the audio channels on the fly, hence the short pause when you rotate the screen.
...
EDIT: I forgot to mention that the short audio pause when rotating the device happens only when playing music through the built in speakers, and it doesn't happen when using a headset. It further proves that this is due to the system adjusting the L/R audio channels and it is actually a feature, not a bug.

It is worth mentioning that "ro.audio.monitorRotation" was not originally present in my device's build.prop file, so it was simply a matter of adding the entry. To my surprise, it was a runaway success. As springer.music pointed out, this tweak is only for the speakers and (thankfully) does not affect the headphones, so you can feel free to apply this without risk of messing up the headphone-based listening experience. I used JRummy Apps's "BuildProp Editor," available on the Marketplace, to make the change.
Hi everybody, all of you know that bottom speaker's place isn't comfortable for using phone in landscape orientation. In this way while gaming I have to turn the phone over so that the bottom speaker is on the left, but then audio channels messed up (if in game sound came from right I will hear it from left). If turn phone back (bottom speaker is on the right) - channels are correct. That anomaly appears only while gaming (YT Vanced works correctly). Is it firmware bug or can I configure it in settings?
Get the Buds+ and be happy... or some better LDAC based headphones or earbuds.
Or maybe bt speakers.
Hello ,
I just got an Android Head unit and it is really great so far , but I have some minor issues that will be great if it can be solved.
My Head unit version is :
Model : Px6 (1024x600)
Android Version: 10
MCU Version: MTCE_MX_v3.73_1
1. My main issue is that the default Music app is not as rich as the other music players (such as poweramp) , is there a way where i can fully replace default music player with Poweramp ?
i need to replace it at the (Mode) command so instead of (Radio -> Music -> DVD -> AVIN) to be (Radio -> Poweramp -> DVD -> AVIN)
and i need to replace it at the Music command at the Key study inside the Factory settings because i remapped the 'Band' button to open Music instead of Radio so it will be great if it can open Poweramp instead of Music. Hope there is a way to do that without rooting the device.
2.I can't hear my whatsapp voice notes unless i open the a2dp application. Is there is a way to have a workaround for this and without using Android Auto ?
3. Some times when i start parking my car ( keep switching from R to D and etc) , a frame drop seems to appear at my Android Auto (via Zlink). the Android auto interface becomes very slow .
i am not sure if it is related to the toggling of the reverse camera when i switch to R. But this happened twice in the last 5 days. Please note that the Performance drop only noticed at the Android Auto screen. when switching back to home , everything else seems smooth and fine.
4. The right knob (turning right & left buttons) doesn't work with all applications , for example it works with default Music app by changing tracks but it doesn't work with Poweramp.
i also tried to remap them from the Key Study menu at the Factory settings but it seems that turning the knob right & left events aren't considered as Keys or buttons.
Thank you for your support.
Hi,
is it just my devices, or is it present on yours also?
When I watch, say, a video on facebook/YT/music and tilt phone to landscape, the top speaker (in this case left one when in landscape) is noticeably louder than the bottom (right) one and has a slightly different sound-color.
I presume it is normal since the shapes of mesh through which sound is firing and possibly the speakers are little different ... so just checking whether ask for repair or it's just how it is.
Thanks
Same here. Which is odd since most of my other phones the loud speaker is usually louder than the earpiece speaker.
Thx, good to know. I also noticed, that the sound is coming rather from right side of the bottom grille. When I go with my finger covering the bottom speaker, it stops playing when I cover the right side, not the left.
Try turning on Dolby Atmos, it resolved the balance issue for me.
Settings > Sound > Audio Settings > Dolby Atmos
Unfortunately it also changes the sound out of headphones, etc. I find that using the custom equalizer with "Intelligent Equalizer" off seems to keep the sound about the same as with Dolby off.
I'm not exactly sure why this fixes it but I assume that it's a software issue not a hardware one...
