I've used dex for a few days, with hungarian keyboard layout (which is QWERTZ and a few special characters). Yesterday something happened out of nowhere, and basically the layout changed to a QWERTZ style US keyboard. No matter what language I switch my input language to, it stays that way. Any suggestions here?
Thanks!

WM5/WM6 has build in on-screen keyboard which works OK when typing in English.
Now lets say I activated another "Locale" in registry to be able to type in e.g. Russian (0419).
Now I can type in Russian, but ... if I look at on-screen keyboard, it has no russian characters It has some weird characters instead.
So ... is there any way to do this ... when I'm typing using on-screen keyboard and I change language, that on-screen keyboard layout will change accordingly and display Russian characters layout ?
I know about Resco keyboard, but it is kind of heavy and consumes a lot of resources. I'm looking for lighter solution
what would be more interesting to switch it completely ... say an english rom with a russian keyboard instead of the english one.
Well ... when I click two buttons to change between English and Russian layout in hardware keyboard, it would be nice that soft-keyboard will display proper symbols TOO.
I think MuNs keyboard has something I need, but I believe it is bundled with numeric keypad (where you dial phone numbers)
Hello all,
I don't know if it's possible, but I'm looking for some way to get a qwerty layout on the stock Froyo IME while using the french dictionary.
I've come to like the stock IME since Froyo, even getting to the point of uninstalling the HTC IME on my N1. I love the concept of easily switching input languages by swiping across the spacebar.
Unfortunately, in Canada, typists use the QWERTY layout, even when typing in french, as opposed to users in France, who use the AZERTY layout.
I would love to get any information on to whether or not this is possible.
Thanks!
Hi,
After I have installed ICS, I cannot use any other input language with the hardware keyboard. It is always English. No matter what keyboard I select: Android (Russian), Smart Keyboard or whatever I have english letters appear on key presses. On Honeycomb I had ASUS Keyboard which allowed to switch language using Ctrl-Space combination. Now I don't have the ASUS keyboard anymore. Have anyone been successful in typing non-English on the dock keyboard?

I have already made a quick hack keyboard to produce russian characters on dock keyboard key presses and switch to english using Ctrl-Space. It should be pretty straight forward to add other european languages if some one would like me to. Chinese, Japanese and Korean is tough and I have no plans to support them.
If anyone is interested, here is the hacked by me standard ICS android keyboard, which allows to type both russian and english on Transformer's dock keyboard. Left_Ctrl+Space changes layout. All other features should work correctly - soft keyboard, voice input...

Hi all!
I've been running ICS from the beginning of it's official release, but flashed the US-version instead of the european one.
No problem so far, but I have the wrong dock-keyboard-layout (QWERTY instead of QWERTZ).
Then I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144204
But where can I find the layout for the german/austrian layout? Could anybody please upload it for me (path to the files should be /system/usr/keylayout and
/system/usr/xt9/keylayout; it's mentioned in the other thread)?
Thanks in advance,
LB115
If you are familiar with the QWERTZ layout, simply go to your language and input settings and select the ASUS German QWERTZ layout.
Your keys will be mapped to the new layout, but the pretty little stickers on them will still be for a different version.
I have a US keyboard, but setting it to ASUS English (UK) allows me to get to the £ symbol and the @ and " are reversed from what is physically on the keys, but it is the standard for UK English.
I have also used the ASUS Spanish keyboard settings with the US Keyboard with no issues.
If you are using any other setting (for instance Thumb Keyboard) for when you are undocked, it will revert to the ASUS English (US) layout regardless which version of the keyboard you have.
Thanks, but when using the Transformer without the dock I have the QWERTZ-layout. Only when using the dock I get the QWERTY one. My system language is German, all keyboard settings too, the dock is a german one...
EDIT: ok, it's working now. I only changed the default keyboard (Android keyboard+ instead of Android keyboard). Thanks for your help!
Hi, I've got the same problem, running FROZN 1.0.9 rom. But there is no other keyboard available than the android keyboard. Do I have to insall another one to get the qwertz layout for my dock?
Thanks for replies!
EDIT: Found Android Keyboard+ in this Post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1528322&highlight=qwertz , then I did like Lunchbox115 and it's working now
I use Colemak for English layout and standard Korean layout. If I were to use Qwerty and Korean, it works out of the box. I can switch between layouts by pressing Shift+Space with the default Samsung keyboard.
So I basically followed this thread's instruction to get Colemak to work.
My keyboard (HP bluetooth keyboard), however, does not generate a separate .kl file in the keylayout folder. So I tried editing Generic.kl. It worked, and the keyboard is now Colemak. Korean keyboard, however, is now messed up. Keys are moved around because I changed the layout from Qwerty to Colemak. It seems that Korean keyboard relies on layout being Qwerty.
I appreciate any help.
