I bought an older LG G7 as my mobile music player (It is on Android 10). As I have two decent Bluetooth headphones from Sony and Shure I tried of course to pair these with LDAC. But so far this did not work, the G7 always falls back to AAC. This gets confirmation from both the Sony and the Shure app on the phone.
But both headphones can connect with LDAC as a Bluetooth codec with my tablet, a Lenovo Tab P11 Pro.
What went wrong and what could I do to get LDAC on the G7 too?
This was the solution: The changes have to be made not only in the developer options but in the Bluetooth menu too:
In the Bluetooth menu I clicked the options of the connected headphone then clicked connectivity and then best sound quality. Now I can use LDAC on all my tested devices: LG G5 and G7, Samsung Tab S6 and Huawei Mate 10 with both Shure Aonic 50 and Sony WH-H900N.

I have an HTC One S on T Mobile with Android version 4.1.1 and recently bought the LG Tone Pro HBS-750 bluetooth headset. Both the phone and headset are listed to support AptX audio for bluetooth which to my understanding limits the delay in transmitting audio to the headset. However, when I watch a video on my phone from what seems to be any app, there is a noticeable delay. I have been searching around for why the aptx isn't doing what it is designed to do but I cannot find anyone who has figured it out. Perhaps my phone or headset is defective? Does anyone know if this should work or not? Thanks.
I just tried my headset with a galaxy s3 and it worked fine so I suppose this is an issue with my phone. Has anyone else had this issue on an AptX enabled device? As far as I know there are no settings I can change but I may just not know of them.
Got my Sony WH-1000XM2 headphone today. After connecting, I can see bluetooth codec being LDAC in Sony Headphones Connect app, which confirms Oreo rom does indeed support LDAC codec.
Even though I've heard Oreo added LDAC support before, I'm still amazed support for it is built into this 3-years-old Android TV device. Videos seem to play fine in Kodi, without noticeable latency.
Always reverts to APX. When I select APXHD or Sonys ldac it reverts back to regular APX after song change
Awesome glad I can use my nice BT headset to full effect, NOT!
Is oneplus aware and how do I make them software better BT options??
It's "aptx" not "apx"
What's headphones are you using? Name them
Where are u changing codec, in developer options?
Both the headphones and the device needs to support the codec. If the phone is switch back to aptx, then that means that the headphones have only support for aptx and can't use other codecs like ldac.
There aren't many BT headsets that are aptxHD compatible, especially so if you've had your headset for over a year. They will revert back to the highest compatibility of the headset you're using. I bought My Sony MDR-XB650BT headset just about a year ago and they are only aptx not aptxHD capable.
Ya'll are right, ty
So I bought a new earphone that supports aptx and paired it with my mi note 10 then I saw that it's in SBC mode which is kinda weird so I tried to change the bluetooth codec in developers option to APTX but it's reverting back to SBC. Any solutions?
you can change in developer option.
I'm looking for a way to connect my Widex hearing aid accessory (UNI-DEX) through the mini-jack to work with my new G7 Power phone function. The UNI-DEX works with the G7 for other audio apps (e.g. FM Radio) but not for the phone function. Other ear buds, etc, work through the mini-jack.
Widex says that UNI-DEX and Moto G7 are not compatible but, except for the phone function, I've found otherwise. Has anyone found a work around, an inline adapter or other solution for this problem?
