I use 3 Google Voice #s for all my calls and messages over data only. I have a DATA ONLY SIM in my phone.
Because of that, I don't use "Phone" app on my phone.
"Phone idle" is my phone's 2nd largest battery use.
1. Is this "Phone idle" directly related to the "Phone" app?
2. If yes, what would happen if I clear cache and data and then disable the "Phone" app on my phone?
Thanks in advance for any answers or feedback!

OK, I have a question about texting with GV. I have a Samsung Galaxy tab (Verison) without a data plan. I want to be able to text with it so I installed GV, and set it up with the phone number on my Cell. Now when I text with it everything seems to work with a few minor issues. First my phone always get the message as well, and it usually takes a while for the message to land on my tab while I get it almost instantly on my phone. Am I missing something?
-Go on to a computer/browser on your tab.
-google.com, more, even more, voice
-upper right corner, setting, gv settings
-forwards to, uncheck your phone
With the implementation anti-theft you know, in case of loss, the exact location of your phone Android.
How it works?
Theft application is automatically activated when you restart the phone and detect a SIM change.
The program seamlessly send a sms every minute (or configured in the application) to mobile phone indicated. The SMS is not recorded in the outbox.
"I can activate / deactivate the service differently?
Yes, to detect the change of SIM, the phone will automatically send an SMS to the phone number of the new SIM, you just have to send an SMS to that number with the phrase set in the anti-theft application to start or stop service .
How to authorize a SIM?
Simply access the application and click on the button "Allow SIM."
How to authorize all my SIM's?
To enable multiple SIM, you just have to put the application anti-theft in "test mode" and go authorizing one to one phone SIM. Do not forget to turn off the "test mode" to complete this task.
What happens if you accidentally activate the service?
You can access the application anti-theft (using the key provided) and click on the top button (to be put in red).
If I have GPS, can locate my phone?
Yes, because if your phone lacks GPS, find the phone for mobile phone masts, they give an approximation of the location of your phone.
Please any questions or problems, please send an email to the developer. Thanks.
There seem to be several sets of settings for wifi calling on this phone. I am curious if anyone knows how they relate to each other.
Under general settings from the home page (settings>more>Wi-Fi Calling Settings>Connection Preferences), you can choose among three options: Wi-Fi Preferred; Wi-Fi Only; and Cellular Preferred.
In the phone app settings, (three vertical dots>settings>Use Internet calling) you can choose among three preferences for Internet calling: For all calls when data network is available; Only for Internet calls; Ask for each call.
Then of course there is the Google Voice App: (Three vertical dots>settings>making calls) which allows you to choose among four options: Use Google Voice to make all calls; Do not use Google Voice to make any calls; Only use Google Voice for international calls; Ask every time I make a call.
Okay, maybe including Google Voice in the question was specious. But what are the other two? Is one T-Mobile, the other Android? One the app and the other the operating system? Do they have to align or do they conflict?
On my phone, when the phone app settings were set to "For all calls when data network is available," the phone would occasionally not make an outgoing call from my address book (Google) and instead would ask if I wanted to establish a new internet calling account.
Help in understanding would be appreciated by this newb.
Hi all.
Is there any application that can count call, data and sms in bundled traffic models??????
I don't think so bro there is anything

You can check 3G/4G data from Settings-Data Usage.
SMS I'm not sure. Phone calls can be checked from phone app, open the call logs and hit the menu button. You see Call duration option (or something similar, not sure which words are used in English).

I have Google Voice, TextNow, Talkatone and ZoiPer installed. I would like to have the options to select which phone app to use for each call. Unfortunately, Motorola only allow to select Phone, TextNow or ZoiPer as default phone app, neither option for Google Voice nor Talkatone. Moreover, no matter which app I selected as default phone app, once I selected, it is forever. There is no option for just this one call so I may select which phone app to use for next call. How can I have the options to select which phone app to use for each call?
Furthermore, Android Phone app actually came with SIP configuration for VoIP calls functionality. With great disappointment, Motorola continues to cripple such functionality in favor of mobile phone carriers' wish. Is there a way to restore SIP configuration for VoIP calls in the phone app without rooting?
Choose 'only once', and it won't set a specific app as default. Go to settings, default apps, and take off the default for whatever apps you choose.
