Problem with Proximity sensor - Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) Questions & Ans

Hi,
I have two POCO F2 Pro phones and the proximity sensor is still malfunctioning in one.
During the phone call, the proximity sensor suddenly stops working and I turn off the microphone with my ear, or hang up the call, or turn on video conferencing on Duo.
Of course, the phone has already been reset many times, it was even in the service, where the proximity sensor was reportedly replaced.
But there is no such sensor in this phone, here is the technology of Elliptic Labs which uses the Virtual Smart Sensors solution.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

You can try Hidden settings for MIUI and test and reset the sensor there.
The apk can be downloaded from playstore.
If that still fails, I had a similar issue with my Mix 3.
Just turn off the phone screen with the power button when calling (have to deactivate power button ends call)
Or you can use Tasker (in my ase I used e-robot), to program the routine to turn the screen off after hooking up a call, You still can turn it on via power button, in case you need ti use the screen during call)

Go->settings->my phone->characteristics->kernel version->tap several times->CIT menu 13 also see on the 3 points at the top right (additional tools).
Possible that there are some differences because i use EU rom.
A test then restart and performed a second test.

[REQ] Modified Call Screen

Hello,
sometimes I have the following problem, which is really annoying, with my HD2:
When I call somebody or get a call, accidentally the „Keypad“ or „End Call“ button are pressed, see also attachment for a screenshot. Other buttons like „Speaker“ or „Mute“ are hidden behind a grey curtain.
Is it possible to enlarge the curtain so that also „Keypad“ and „End Call“ are hidden.
Best regards,
deloris

hi,
the curtain ist only for preventing you to accidently push the 'wrong' button and simplify the usage of the phone. when you make a call the proximite sensor should do the job of securing the screen by turning it off, when you hold the device to your ear. it seems that this function is not working for anybody and in every situation. i also somtimes drop the call or do other unwanted things, because the screen is not shut off. in the moment i have removed the hole curtain with bsb tweaks, because its sensless to me. the only way to get around this problem is to use a screenlock program wich is able to lock the screen on call. watch out for something like this here in the forum.
regards mad.
The proximite senzor works great on my hd2, when the phone is @ my ear the screen is off until i take the phone away from the ear.
Thanks for the answer, guys.
As you said it youself, madbirds, it happens, that you accidentally end a phone call which is very annoying. Therefore a curtain over all screen buttons could do no harm.
Anywho, before opening this thread I tried 3 different screenlock programs (s2u2, ps and and a 3rd one), but I had some problems with them, so now I use one a program which locks the hardware buttons during an incoming call.
Best regards,
deloris

Bluetooth creating constant notifications

So with bluetooth on, I get a constant notification whether a device is connected or not. This is all after the MM upgrade.
Steps already taken:
- Verified reminder is turned off in accessibility.
- Cleared cache.
- Removed all BT devices
- Factory reset.
PLEASE HELP
@jasong127
Try settings > wireless and networks > nearby device scanning > off.
Let me know if this works. It uses BT even when off. I turned mine off long ago. Never had your issue and unsure if this may solve it.

That was already off. I think that when my car (chevy mylink) was connected, there's an option to "Allow Contact" or something like that. Problem is, when the truck is no longer connected, all the other options move to off, except this one.
Happens with one other device too (my home phone system). I have to unpair them and it stops. Pretty much seems like a bug to me.
I will have to test this on my ford transit the next time i use it. I do know it always resets the 911 link, which is annoying.
I'm having the same issues. Just did a factory reset and have not paired any bluetooth devices. But the minute I turn on bluetooth I start getting notifications. Help before I flush my phone.
Samsung Note 5 with Marshmallow update.

Did you have items at one time that were paired? The way I found out the solution is to unplug ever BT device in my house and start one by one. BTW, I have 1 home phone, 3 speakers, and a computer that all use BT. Turned out to be the home telephone that was the cause of it.

Xiaomi - "Sleep Timer" functions not working

Hi, I decided to post here because I'm facing a problem for a while and either the app developer knew how to solver. I'm talking about the Sleep Timer app, speaking of which I saw a post of years ago about it.
So, whats happening:
I use this app for years and it always worked well when I wanted it to turn off Spotify. Recently, I changed my phone and now I use a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Since then, the app doesn't work well. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes not. That's how I'm using it now:
- I connect my phone to my Tronsmart bluetooth speaker
- Start the music on Spotify
- Start counter on the Sleep Timer app. I set it configuration to turn off Spotify and turn off bluetooth, so the speaker can auto turn off too when dispair the bluetooth and saves the speaker battery.
I used the app almost every night, setted as "no restriction" in the battery configuration area, with my bluetooth speaker. Speaking of which, last night setted the app to turn off Spotify and bluetooth as always and I woke up in the middle of night and the music was still playing. So, I setted it AGAIN, and I woke up later still in the middle of night with the music still playing, AGAIN.
I made some tests in the daytime instead of before I sleep and the app did its functions. But, its how I said: sometimes works, sometimes not.. To test if the problem was the app, I downloaded another app with the exactly same purpose and functions, and the same missfunction happened. So, it's something to do with the phone configurations too.
What I want with this topic is to see if someone could help me with this problem or at least could indicate some app with these functions that works 100% fine in the Xiomi's phones.
Thanks to anyone who can help me with this!

I can't replicate this on mine.
Well, i have received an explanation from a bro, which have find the same situation. He just think that it related to brightness. When the sensor detect the brightness is enough, the 2X camera will run, if it detect brightness is not enough the camera will change to 1X camera. Sothat, when the light in a embarrassing situation(no brightness enough and also not realy dark) this issus will happen, two cameras switch and switch, realy quickly and also again here is a kind of explanation ,so am i.
Try video Pro

Yeah I see what you did there XD. Neat trick.
High light/contrast on the computer screen and no light on the Keyboard...you're asking for problems.
Have you tried using the Pro video app. That's going to get a better shot than the standard camera app.
While I can't possibly see the reason for attempting this kind of shot in low light conditions. I have sort or re-created it on mine but the camera wants to focus on where i hold my finger/thumb; which has next to no visual queues for the hardware/software to recognise so it will do what your are seeing.
I agree that the camera has become a little sluggish in 2X mode in low light. But to be honest I wouldn't have bothered until you posted this.
It's doing exaclty what I would expect it to do under the conditions.

Broke front camera motor

Hey guys,
I finally (kappa) managed it, to broke my front camera motor
I think, it got broke while the last time my phone dropped..
The camera itself still works (Surrounding light is shining through) but the motor, for pushing the camera up and down, is dead.
I can't hear any sound, nor any sidelights of it. The notification LED still works too btw.
Do anyone else expected this failure too and maybe know a fix for it? I already tried to "pick it up" a bit with a sharf cutter and trigger the mechanism with the camera app and front camera sidelight settings, but vainly it didn't work..

The engine seems strong.
The connection between the engine and the camera more likely or solder or printed circuit.
You'd have to open it to see.

Thanks for the information! But heating up the display and re-glueing it by myself could end up in a disaster ..
I think, I will first try to contact my seller (or xiaomi) and ask for repair service.
