HUAWEI G525
Ive been asked by a friend of mine to fix his nexus 5 that is stuck on a Bootloop, I've opened it up to have a look at the power button and that wasn't the problem, the device has not been rooted, the Bootloader is locked, there is no emergency mode and there is no recovery. I am however able to access fastboot and when I try unlocking via fast boot it does unlock but then requires a full reboot and as I've said before this cannot happen because of the Bootloop.
Any suggestions!?!?!?!
After unlocking the bootloader, does the bootloader relock itself? If it does, the memory chip is damaged and requires a replacement motherboard.
I've had this problem when I corrupted my recovery by using FlashFire and my bootloader was locked. Though I was able to restore my device using Fastboot. I had unlocked my device and instead of flashing the stock recovery when unlocking the bootloader I had flashed the Team Win Recovery Project recovery and when I tried to boot up to TWRP recovery it would stay for a couple of second displaying that it couldn't wipe the data partition and then reboot me back into bootloader mode. I fixed that when trying out the following steps:
1= Download the latest firmware of the device found Here .
2= Boot the device to Fastboot mode (aka Bootloader mode) plug the device in and unlock the bootloader (of coarse confirm when asked by the device).
3= After seeing that the device has stopped wiping data indicated the text "wiping..." in the very bottom of the specifications in the Fastboot Bootloader REBOOT THE DEVICE IN FASTBOOT BOOTLOADER MODE by navigating using Volume buttons to scroll down and highlight the option "Reboot Bootloader" and then pressing the Power button.
4= Using the provided scripts for Windows , Mac and Linux flash the device with the firmware.
VERY IMPORTANT: WHEN YOU SEE THAT IT IS FLASHING "userdata" and after that "cache" HOLD DOWN THE VOLUME DOWN BUTTON THIS WILL FORCE THE DEVICE INTO FASTBOOT BOOTLOADER MODE.
5= When you see that the device is in the Fastboot Bootloader mode scroll down (again using volume buttons) and highlight "Recovery Mode" then boot into Recovery and it should automatically start wiping the ("userdata" partition) Data once more that the bootloader said when it displayed the "wiping..." message after being unlocked.
If not wipe data factory reset the device manually by using the recovery and reboot to the system.
Optional: 6= IF the device has successfully booted up power it back down and lock the bootloader again using the fastboot tool additionally before locking the bootloader you can reset the warranty tamper flags.
This tutorial explains in detail how to flash a firmware to the Nexus 5 and shows how to restore the tamper flags.
I hope that I helped in some way.

Yes after unlocking Bootloader and restarting the device into the Bootloader it relocks and I'm back at square one
The motherboard needs to be changed. I recommend looking for a used Nexus 5 with a smashed screen and a working motherboard as this may easier than trying to find a new motherboard.

Thanks for the suggestion but I've tried this already and it doesn't work because when I unlock the bootloader and reboot into the Bootloader it locks itself again making impossible to flash the system image
how to relock the bootloader:
First of all you're gonna need:
- A PC/Android SDK/ADB Toolkit
- An android with an unlocked bootloader
- A usb cable connected to the device
I made this thread because I had the same problem but I found a way to fix it! I was trying to load into a corrupted recovery and it kept being stuck on the "Your device is unlocked and cant be trusted, your device is booting now" thingy, but I found my way out and it's really easy!
Tutorial:
Steps:
- 1: Hold the power button down till your phone shuts down and re-open by also holding down the "volume-down" key, so it loads into fastboot.
- 2: Go onto your pc/mac (cmd/terminal) and type the command "fastboot oem relock <your unlock number>". Then it should be something like this:
fastboot oem relock <your unlock number>
(bootloader) The device will reboot and do factory reset...
OKAY [ 15.785s]
finished. total time: 15.785s

To get your "unlock number" take a look at this:
-We get our Unlock Code for Bootloader, write it somewhere !-
^^^ This is on the emui website = emui . com
(XDA doesnt allow me to add a picture of what I mean because I'm a new user )

Why i got this message that say failed?
Hi Guys!!
I tried my rooting adventures again and found some more facts that can help community to attain stable root.
Whats available--
1. Magisk root.
2. TWRP.
3. V4A
4. Baseband.
Whats not available -
Untethered root with baseband and the ability to get into phone if not having a laptop/pc.
Now some facts-
1. Bootloader is one hell of a thing in this model.
If we unlock it, it would re-lock itself on proper reboot. To keep it unlocked, you need to hard reset the device by pressing power button for 10 seconds. The fun part is - if you boot with unlocked bootloader, it wont allow you to access baseband, and if you try to boot with locked bootloader, dm-verity will come into place and will lock you out.Even more funnier part is, on booting TWRP from bootloader, the bootloader will first unlock itself, boot twrp and then lock it self.(this is the part which helps us to attain tethered root with baseband.)
After many trials, i was able to get a boot image which had Magisk/Insecure adbd/V4A/Non-Encrypted Data partition/no dm verity on system partition.
Now , to get tethered + working baseband root, follow these steps-
First Time Steps.
1.Boot into fastboot mode.
2.fastboot boot twrp.img
3. wipe data partition.
4.reboot to bootloader.
5.fastboot flash boot magisk-boot.img
6.fastboot boot magisk-boot.img
7.enjoy.
When rebooting (for baseband)-
1. Boot into fastboot
2.fastboot boot magisk-boot.img
When rebooting (without baseband)-
1. Boot into fastboot
2.fastboot oem unlock
3. Hard reset by keeping power button pressed.
4. enjoy.
P.S. After every reboot done with baseband enabled, your bootloader will get locked and wont boot into the OS, until and unless, you either unlock the bootloader again / boot into magisk-boot.img from fastboot.
Working on fixing this issue. Will keep posted

I'm trying to install LineageOS 19.1 but I'm having trouble as stated in the title. Every guide I've read mentions that I need to flash TWRP recovery in which case I need to go in fastboot. Problem is once in fastboot I cannot progress any further. I'm not sure what step I missed or what I'm missing. I can detect my device with "adb devices" while the device is on and "adb reboot bootloader" puts it into fastboot (notification light turns blue) but any other commands just result in "waiting for any device" after going into fastboot. Here's some additional info:
- Model is SO-04J Docomo
- Can confirm that bootloader is unlocked (OEM unlocking can be toggled on/off)
actually, you have to unlock your bootloader first (which erases DRM Keys to take photos etc) and you surely haven't done that YET... Just follow the Instructions from Sony and you might wanna consider Backing up DRM Keys first, before you unlock your Bootloader.
1. Type in this number into your Dialer, if it (Bootloader unlocked) says YES, then your Bootloader is already unlocked but if it says, that Bootloader unlock is supported, backup your DRM Keys first and then
2. "Install the device drivers and platform tools" (from Sonys Website) (i just post the link to the driver for you to make it easier)
If you're using Windows for this, I mentioned it before (I had the same Problem as you do) And figured out, that you have to tap on your Device first IN SYSTEM MAINTAINCE (mine was labeled "Android") then Update driver, search on PC, select from List, choose ADB Interface (Samsung Android ADB Interface) and go ahead and unlock bootloader first (which ensures, TWRP CAN be flashed and to install custom ROM)
