Greetings,
Thank you for using XDA Assist. In order for anyone to help you, you must provide your device make and model.
Thank you.

I hoped for a more serious answer than this,
also XDA you should keep away people that cant tell the diferrence between a android smartphone and an iphone from replying to people questions.
Also I would like someone to explain to @The_Merovingian that what I asked is above devices and phone models.
ThankALot

--- NOT GOING TO HAPPEN ---
Some of you may be familiar with my SkyHigh kernels. I'm currently supporting most of Note5 and some S6 Edge+ models.
I may be able to support a couple S6 variants, but will require something from you.........................
If any G920F user wishes to contribute, then please post the latest stock boot.img from G920FXXU3QOLF firmware.
You can download any extract from either sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com
If you can confirm what your device directory is:
Code:
/sys/devices/battery.[COLOR="Red"]54[/COLOR]/ (which number do you have?)
As I don’t have your device, but my Note5 uses most of the Exynos7420 source, I believe it shouldn't be any issue. So if someone does this, I may be able to contribute to your forum
.

F and I may be compatible source. I would need to check the defconfig for both, as well as the base ramdisks.
So, please send through the OKB boot.img. It's older than the F firmware, but I still can check.
@UpInTheAir
/sys/devices/battery.52/
Is what i have.
Im currently grabbing the FW file to rip the boot.img for you.
Edit: Boot.img added here: https://www.sendspace.com/file/ufbxa8

/sys/devices/battery.52/ - This is on Xstreolite ROM which is currently using COI9
Boot.img is from the the following: G920FXXU3QOLF_G920FORO3QOL6_G920FXXU3QOL6_HOME.tar
Stock kernel from G920FXXU3QOLF. I have /sys/devices/battery.52/
We are still waiting.
Is not going to happen. I asked for this to be locked...... @superleeds27 tested and it didn't boot. I have read that if you flash from arter kernel you might have issues. But I don't know and too difficult without device.
Thread closed as OP request.

There is no root guide in the ROM section, just Kali rom, twrp and forum rules/mods. Maybe a link would be helpful.
Update: I guess they are talking about it in the TWRP post, seems out of place considering the ROM section is not meant for discussion.

No root for T-Mobile version, locked bootloader too
Thanks, work fine for me.
Well that's depressing. I can't wait for root on my T-Mobile S7 Edge.

Yep, none of those threads have to do with "Root", but people are having discussions about root in the TWRP thread which is against forum rules because those are dev threads. But I guess the dev is either slacking or just letting it fly. Either way, thank you.

Seriously?
I will quickly answer this, as this discussion is against the rules as it is not about the topic of this thread. It is lacking of respect towards the OP who is doing job for the community.
There are various conversations about rooting.
1. The TWRP with root included if you read the OP. People are discussing issues or trying to find solutions for their phones.
2. There is a specific thread saying CF Auto Root ...talks about rooting your devices with Chainfire's fabulous work only. Well mostly people saying thank you, as it is rare that Chainfire's work goes wrong.
I think the Mods on this forum are tough and correct... so if something was against the rules, they would of taken action.
Now this is a thread about volume and Viper... so nothing to do with this discussion... So let's go back on topic.

okkkkkaaaaayyyy. the rom/recovery sections is meant for the developers to post updates on their progress or info about the rom/recovery/etc. This is why the mods continually tell people to not discuss in the rom section, and instead the dev should create a separate thread in the Q&A regarding any questions pertaining to the thread. Root is relevant to almost everything on XDA, so when someone says to go look in the rom section about root information, it's kind of vague to assume that information about "how to root" will be in the TWRP recovery section. My point was that simply telling a user to go to the rom section to find answers about rooting their phone is not ideal nor does it make sense, so let's all avoid confusing more and more people on this site.

No need to flash both mods at the same time as they are meant for the same purpose. Mod by ZuBi182 has more features and adjusted values.

Introduction:
My name as you may be able to tell is Francesco, and I am a long time user of the Samsung Galaxy S Series Devices. My current device is the SM-G935W8. I have just requested Developer Access on Android File Host so I can give access to everyone for the Stock Firmware for the SM-G935W8 of which I grabbed from Samsung SmartSwitch on Windows. I am an experienced programmer in the Languages C# and Java. I have made a few personal apps that aren't even worth mentioning.
Goal:
My Goal is to contribute and dedicate myself to the Canadian Users because I have noticed the lack of support towards them. I am currently working on a ROM based on the stock firmware of which I am trying to release. I am going to need help on it as I am rather new to this area of Android but nonetheless does not mean I am terrible. I have done my research and have gotten some of the tools that are needed and have already successfully built a ROM just not able to boot it but I believe it is because I missed a step with the boot.img. The main tool I am using is the one that Superr has created called SuperRs_Kitchen. I am currently using v1.0.5.6 as the newest version I was having issues with.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask me and I will try and answer them to the best of my ability.
I will provide an upload link once and if I get approved for requesting developer access. If I don't I will then use a different mirror to host it.
Please be patient, and I do not have an ETA on when the link will be up.
Welcome Francesco! Nice to see some W8 support here! Really looking forward to see development from you

When SmartSwitch says it's downloading your firmware:
If you open up the run dialogue, type in %APPDATA% you will be brought to the Roaming folder. Click in the address bar to actually go to the APPDATA Folder, click Local, then go into the Temp folder.
Sort the results by last modified.
You will see one that has a random generated name and is a .tmp file. Keep your eye on this file and the size. Keep pressing refresh. Once that file is done another file will be created above it with the exact same name but it will be a zip file. Keep an eye on the file size as for this one as well. Keep refreshing until it the file size stops changing. In my experience it's still the exact same size as the tmp file, but just wait about 5 seconds after it stop changing, then copy it to somewhere like your desktop.

Thank you. I know there isn't much support for this device, but the ROM I believe the one that is called Renovated Edge does work on the W8 version, but it will change your CSC to XAC and it was a real pain trying to get it back to RWC. Actually took me a couple days to figure out how to do it.
