There is no sound recorded in my video. Do you support external audio recording?
Yes, we do support external audio recording. However, as the Android operating system doesn’t allow any third-party apps to access the internal sound, we suggest to use the mic to record the external audio.
1. First, Make sure you’ve allowed permission to access the microphone.
2. Turn on the External Audio option on the Settings page.
3. Be mindful that there’s no other app using the mic at the same time. If yes, the video will be muted automatically.
The app crashed while I am recording.
First, we would like to say sorry for the inconvenience that may arouse. Please check the following steps for the solution.
1. Check if there is enough storage on your phone. If not, clear the cache on your phone.
2. Close other competing apps that might cause conflict.
3. Turn on Avoid Abnormal Crash on the Settings page to enhance recording stability.

How to fix freezing and lagging while screen recording on my phone?
Yes. We all hate freezing and lagging. There are 3 ways to reduce it.
1. Close other unrelated applications that may arouse the lag.
2. Restart your phone.
3. Try to limit your recording resolution (video quality, resolution, and fps).
Why I can’t screen record on my Xiaomi device?
For certain mobile devices, sometimes it will happen. But don't worry. Please turn on the “Start in background” option in the System Settings.
Go to System Settings -> Find Vidma Screen Recorder on Apps -> Tap Permission -> Tap Start in background.
I can't use the floating window and popup window to start screen recording. My android system is Android 5.1.

Why do my recorded videos only display a black screen?
There are several reasons why this is happening:
Some apps or websites such as Disney+ or Netflix disabled the feature of screen recording due to privacy or copyright protection.
MediaCodec fails to decode data.
There may be a problem with the in-app media player.
Try these self-troubleshooting methods:
Check whether the video can be played properly on the editing page. If yes, close other unrelated applications and restart Vidma Recorder app.
If you have black screen issues with a specific website such as Amazon Prime, run Firefox and record the website/video again.
If the problem remains, restart your phone and try again.

Why my recorded video is blurry?
Be mindful that higher quality requires bigger storage. You may adjust the video quality, resolution, and FPS on the Settings page before screen recording.

I can't hear my friend while I am recording a voice call.
Be mindful that two apps couldn't use the mic at the same time.
If you're using the mic to do a voice/video call, your recorded videos will be muted automatically.
Recording Video Size and Storage
While Vidma has no time limit on screen recording, the performance of your phone and the app also depends on your phone or SD card storage.
Recording a long video in high quality may result in a larger file size, affecting the app and your phone's performance. Here is a good gauge of the file size in relation to quality and duration:

Compatibility, availability
It’s available here and costs $9.95. The trial version is pretty usable and only time (30 days) constrained if you want to take it for a test ride.
It’s only compatible with WM5. I’ve tested it on two WM5 PPC Phone Edition devices (HTC Universal and HTC Wizard) – both worked OK (except for the VGA incompatibility problems on the former).
The unique feature: “rolling recording”
It may happen to you many times that you would like to record things that have just been said. In these cases, “rolling recording” can be of help. It makes it possible to record things that have already been said – before you pressed the “Record” button.
Please note that you will need to read the online documentation on the “rolling recording” in order to be able to properly utilize the unique rolling recording facility of the app. (Note that the homepage has a dead link to the Virtual Demo). In my extensive tests, rolling recording worked flawlessly and really delivered what it's supposed to.
Compared to...
Yes, as applications (fortunately) don't exist in isolation, it's the best to compare this app to the numerous alternates to get a clerar picture whether it's worth getting (or even trying).
As opposed to other “standard” voice recorders...
Pros
Buffering functionality – no other voice recorder is capable of the same. Note that the “Rewind Length” slider in Vianix Pocket Talk Enterprise Pro only sets the amount of seconds the Rewind icon steps back on each press (the same stands for forwarding).
It puts the entire date/time (incl. seconds) in the filename. Except for iPlay (which puts hours and minutes in the filenames – not the seconds) and Personal Memory Systems’ Audio Memory System (which is quite revolutionary in that it puts both the date, the time (incl. seconds) and a user-supplied remark in the filename), no other recorder does the same: they “only” autonumber the files. This approach can be easier for many people, particularly if you see the filelist from an application (for example, the FileList control itself in Windows Mobile itself when listing files created more than a day ago) without timestamps or, when the timestamps are lost (because, for example, you FTP the files or ActiveSync synchronizes them to the desktop).
Isn’t overpriced, unlike many of the alternates
No excess CPU usage: in both “conference” mode and while actively recording, around 1% only (measured on the HTC Wizard, recording to a storage card), which certainly shows it’s well-written and bugfree (in this respect)
Can record as a background task (unlike Notes)
Moderate memory usage: with 45 sec pre/postbuffers (as can also be seen in this Settings screenshot), it’s 2 Mbytes only
Cons
On the Pocket PC, no touchscreen support: must be operated by the D-pad + Action button + WM5 softkeys or the built-in keyboard (if present)
Sometimes, on the HTC Wizard, D-Pad only started to work after a forced screen orientation change while the app is active (this isn’t a problem on the HTC Universal though). This was also the case when traversing the focus to another application and then, switching back to LivePVR: you must change the screen orientation in order to be regain control on the GUI. After resetting the Pocket PC, these problems generally went away. It’s still be good to be aware of the solution if you want to avoid resetting your PPC.
Recording quality can in no way be set - everything is recorded as lengthy (about one Megabyte for every 45 seconds) PCM files, no matter what the system-level quality setting is. (Needless to say, it sports no codecs either, unlike many of the alternates.)
There are no niceties like Voice Activation System (VAS)
No VGA support – it only occupies the upper left quarter of the screen on VGA devices like the HTC Universal even in standard (SE) VGA mode
WM5 only (tested on other, previous platforms – a no-go)
As far as phone recording is concerned, as opposed to PMRecorder:
Pros
Resulting file doesn’t have an additional header and, therefore, need to be converted in order to be played in any media players. (Note that PMRecorder, thanks to my documenting the header and a Russian coder coding the converter, already has a third-party decoder.)
Cons
Doesn’t store the number of the caller/called
Auto-phonecall-recording must be reactivated by hand after every single reboot
PMRecorder has two recording quality settings (one of them using the space-saving GSM vocoder); this only one
Costs $10 (as opposed to the free PMRecorder)
Verdict
For a phone call recorder, stick with PMRecorder. The latter is definitely better in every respect. The same stands for recording individual voice notes where rollbacking isn’t needed (because you know beforehand what you want to record and what not).
However, as far as conference/meeting recording is concerned where rollback capabilities are a must, you won’t find anything better for the Pocket PC. It’s only in this case that I heartily recommend this application.
A TIP: how can you make it record all your phone calls without explicitly starting LivePVR?
It must be done exactly the same way as with PMRecorder: you just put a link to the executable of the program, \Program Files\LivePVR\sftLivePVR.exe, into \Windows\StartUp (with PMRecorder, the executable can be found by default at \Program Files\PMRecorder\PMRecorder.exe).
Unfortunately, while with PMRecorder it’s sufficient to just minimize the task when it’s (auto)started (and it will record everything), with LivePVR, you MUST explicitly go to the Phone Call PVR menu (one Action button press) and explicitly reactivate phone recording (two Action button presses). After this, you can safely minimize it, just as with PMRecorder, and it will record all your calls.
Note that while, seemingly, auto recording is activated upon reboot, in practice, it doesn’t work. This is why you will need to reactivate it after every reboot. In this respect, PMRecorder is certainly easier to operate, particularly if you often reboot your device.

What is a time-lapse?
Taken from Wikipedia as it will explain it far better than what I can :
Time-lapse photography is a technique whereby the frequency at which film frames are captured (the frame rate) is much lower than that used to view the sequence. When played at normal speed, time appears to be moving faster and thus lapsing. For example, an image of a scene may be captured once every second, then played back at 30 frames per second. The result is an apparent 30-times speed increase. Time-lapse photography can be considered the opposite of high speed photography or slow motion.
Processes that would normally appear subtle to the human eye, e.g. the motion of the sun and stars in the sky, become very pronounced. Time-lapse is the extreme version of the cinematography technique of undercranking, and can be confused with stop motion animation.

On the far left you have the main start screen where you can access the "capture time lapse" camera screen, which is the two screens on the left and the second screenshot is the settings sub-menu, where you can change the capture settings i.e. you can choose what res. to record at; 240P, 360P, 480P, 720P, 1080P and full sensor ("specially for those who want to capture in their devices but render in their computers, you can still render it using lapse it, but it will be scaled to 720P"). We also have the render settings, which consist of what type of encoder to use, either; MP4, MOV, FLV. The quality of the render and the FPS (Frames Per Second), the higher this is, the shorter the video is. When you click "more" whilst in the "capture time lapse" view, you get a sub-menu introducing more options as shown in the above screenshot on the far right.
In the "gallery" sub section, this is where you can view your own time lapse videos as well as viewing other lapse it - time lapse projects using the app (should check some of them out, they are superb!):
Finally lets take a look at the editing UI area:
Here you can preview your video as you edit it, as you can see, we are able to trim the video (remove frames at the start and end), add effects (Black & White, Vivid colours, Invert colours, vintage and an old film effect), add a music track and lastly the important bit, render settings (these are also available in the settings sub menu as shown above).
I have done a fair amount of videos lately, but they haven't come out the best due to shakiness/jerkiness, you need to have some form of a tripod/desk holder or something to hold the phone steady, otherwise the video will be nowhere as good in the end i.e. my first video:

This is a quick one taken on my one S at 720P (can do 1080P as well but with 45 minutes of footage it would consume a **** load of space! ), 12 frame interval and encoded at 35FPS/MP4/very high quality:
As I pointed out above, you can apply effects, such as black and white, sepia etc. here is one using the "vivid" option:
My videos aren't the best or the longest to show this sort of app of, they are there to just give you an idea of what to expect.
Youtube can stabilize the above video so it looks less shaky/more smooth, but I just wanted to show you the untouched version. Once again, I am sure that you could edit the video on the PC using some software so that it would look even better!
PS. the reason the video quality in terms of "clearness" isn't the best is due to the window being dirty
To sum up, the outcome isn't anywhere near the quality of time lapses done with proper camera equipment and manually edited on the computer using some software, but for a smart phone and a £1.24 app, which does everything for you, it does a damn good job of creating a time lapse video. The app is easy to use, quick and not bloated with settings, features, which make it complicated for the average users. There is also a short video on the play store web page explaining the app and giving a quick walk through the app UI/settings and what to do.

If i have to turn screen off and then take a record of only a minute or 2, i will rather start voice recorder to do that, or mayb use a app that either keeps recording my voice, and keeps recording of past ''x'' minutes; or a app that activates with my voice, so that i m sure that what i think, or said was recorded.
Though,it can b used to save time by only turning screen off to start recording instead of going to voice recorder and then start recording...

Keep in mind that when you turn off the screen to start recording, you can turn the screen back on and then off to QUICKLY start a new recording.
I will add options to have a predefined time for recording AND a way to pause recording:good:

I'm looking for a video recorder for mobile ( doesn't matter if root or not) that can record selected source not whole screen.
Like in pc we have OBS where we can select the source or capture window.
