Hi XDA.
As there is currently no global version of Mix 3, i wanted to import it with CN ROM, however, i stumbled upon an article saying that you will no longer be able to use Global roms on CN devices and vice versa.
This greatly worries me, as i would much prefer not to be stuck with CN firmware. Hence my question to people that are more experienced, and perhaps know something that i do not.
If i buy CN version, will i be able to somehow flash Global/xiaomi.eu/any other custom ROM anyway?
Thanks for any response!

Yes, you just need to unlock bootloader

Why can't you use Google pay?
Never had an issue with previous unlocked xiaomi phones on global rom.
As long as it passes safety net with magisk it will work

Yes that's correct. For security reasons didn't want to keep my bootloader unlock.
Thanks for the feedback!
I am just curious, isn't it possible to re-lock bootloader(i think i you would need to reflash xiaomi recovery for that)? And regarding xiaomi.eu rom, they advertise it with:
SafetyNet passed (Google Pay)
Play Store Certified
Well, i have never used gpay in the past, and i suppose it would not be a deal breaker if i could not now, but it would be certainly nice to try it out.

It's not only the best phone I've ever used, I think it's clearly far & away the best in class for a phone today and I genuinely want it to raise bars for what's possible with the hardware. As a package, it's remarkable. Best in class overall & in many areas.
I just love it. Nothing is a disappointment. Getting on the xiaomi.eu ROM negated the ill effects of importing a deGoogled phone. It's reliable, charges in ludicrously quick time, is a fantastic camera, seems unofficially pretty splashproof. Feels good, looks good, sounds good, works with everything

based on official, but not official. They do updates over the air normally but not til TWRP is ready. They're a solid group, used them before when I had a Mi 9. From a readme:
> Xiaomi Europe was founded [...] to provide [...] an exlcusive community for English MIUI Android and Xiaomi products. Since 2010 our web site has officially worked with Xiaomi on a variety of projects for APP translations and bug fixing and is a major part of today's Xiaomi Global ROM experience thanks to the great team at xiaomi.eu and its community.

trust them.
Get yourself on to the EU ROM. I know it's going to take a week to get unlocked but it's well worth while. The EU ROM makes this a superb phone and I've come from a Huawei P40 Pro plus that photographically may be better but there is not much in it. I just love this phone now. Got a couple of cases coming and a better screen cover protector.

Ok is there a way back to getting the phone "locked" again on stock rom if i want to return ?
Why do you want it locked again? The EU ROM shows no security issues, it passed every test.
On the Chinese ROM, I couldn't use my Sky Q as it said it wasn't secure and that was before flashing. Now I can use it. Is there a reason you need it locked?
You can flash the Chinese stock ROM if you do want. I have done to test but come back to the EU version. If you need a link to the stock let me know, I did put instructions on the Xiaomi forum but can copy it here.

I mean if i want to return it to default to be able to sell it. Also 2 questions, does the windows way work or not because i read there's issues in the bat file and only linux works. I dont have access to a linux machine currently. 2nd question, when twrp is ready, until then we will have to flash ourselves until twrp is ready to be able to do OTA?
We've found a fix for the windows method which involves swapping out the fastboot. It's all there in the thread for it, I promise...this is for overall love
And if you may sell it, unless you are going to sell to a Chinese person, I think they will appreciate not having to do the change from the Chinese version.
There are warnings about relocking and the possibility of bricking but you can always flash the stock Chinese version again like I did to test it and then back to EU ROM. Unlocking will bind your Mi account to you phones hardware but this can be swapped to another user if you sell.

Unfortunately not. You will have to wait 168 hours ( 1 week). No way round it as the hardware will be locked to your Mi account during the process.

What are the benefits of EU Rom? I have removed all bloat on China ROM and it's doing fine. Just having and issue of high power consumption of Google Play Services and mdnsd.
See attached screenshots. Plus battery lasts longer, no issues with notification and it reports it's fully secure. For me, it refused to run skyq as the app said it was not secure. Using the EU ROM, it's happy. Have a look at the attached.
How long does Xiaomi normally support their devices? How many "Major" android upgrades do the provide? Like from 10 to 11? And if we went through the EU Rom route will they provide updates for longer?

Hi everyone, I am planning to buy this phone - Indian version with model number RMX2076. version I intend to purchase is 8GB | 128GB version.
I have a few doubts and need help & answers please.
I intend to flash the stock Indian Rom with EU/Global version of Stock Rom. I am doing this to activate more number of 4G and 5G bands available on this device on the EU/Global variant, as against fewer network bands available on stock Indian ROM version. source: https://www.gsmarena.com/realme_x50_pro_5g-10097.php
I would prefer to keep the boot-loader locked post the ROM Flash and get the rest of the phone working as stock. I prefer, the security of locked boot-loader, and would like all bank apps, UPI Payment apps and Google Pay app working.
My Queries are:
Can this be done on this device?.
Will the device receive regular OTA OS and security updates for the Global/EU ROM post the Flash?.
Are there hardware changes in Global version of this phone that I should be aware of, prior to this Global ROM flash on the Indian version RMX2076?.
any and all help appreciated. Thank you.
bump, really no one has this same question? some answer would be nice please.

Hello XDA forums,
I've recently required a global version of the mi 10 ultra after a phone swap. I'm not flash/bootloading/ROM toting gunslinger and have no clue about this software installed on the phone called TWRP.
From my research I've found it's a bootloader that allows the device to be used in other countries and gives access to Google play store.
But I just wondered whether going back to stock is an option, and if so, would that present any issues i.e. lose assess to play store.
If there is a simplified guide or any guide in general I'd be more than happy to look at it
Kind regards

Thank you for clarifying that for me having spoke to someone via the Xiaomi forums, they stated that it is used on the mi 10 ultra to by pass the Chinese stock ROM and allow Google play store.
The thing I'm lost about is what ROM am I currently using and how do I update it? Would you be able to direct me to some information to troubleshoot this?
Kind regards,

Basically Yes, you will lose access to the playstore as China does not allow it on their phones. The 10 ultra's sold to people outside of China had a cutdown version of Google services put on but it did not have location history or find phone and other parts. If you do go back to stock Chinese, you can find playstore app in their version of appstore and if you install it, you can get full Google services again.
If you have the Xiaomi EU ROM installed and you live outside of China, then that version is your best bet. It comes in 2 versions, weekly or stable and both are still updated, so make your choice, stock ROM is available here.. http:/mifirm.net and do a search for cas or mi 10 ultra and install the latest fastboot or recovery ROM if you have twrp recovery installed ( you probably will if you have the EU ROM) or pop over the Xiaomi EU forum for the latest info here.. https://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/xiaomi-mi-10-pro-10lite-ultra-10t-pro-lite-10s.204/ and here for the weekly ROM.. https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/miui-12-0-12-1-12-2-12-5-stable-release.56191/ and the weekly ROM here.. https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/21-6-16-17.61822/ .
All the info on twrp and the ROMs are on the Xiaomi EU forum but there is lots of help and advice here once you make your choice of where you want to go. The 10 Ultra is a dam good phone with the latest EU ROM installed.

Hi all,
I have searched on many threads on XDA and even other sources, but I can't find a solid answer, I don't like to create new threads, but in this case, I had to.
I am going to buy the Chinese variant of the OnePlus 8T, which is advertised to be shipped with Hydrogen OS. I have seen many guides and videos on how to switch to Oxygen OS and it seems very easy and straightforward.
My only concern is, that I will have to root the device (using this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...in-eu-us-kb2000-kb2001-kb2003-kb2005.4178675/ ) and I am unsure how to return the device to stock.
From what I have read, the KB2000 Chinese variant does give a crashdump error if you use the normal MSM Download tool made for the global devices to flash the Chinese variant, because it shipped with Hydrogen OS, and not Oxygen OS.
Now I read on this thread that this is the working version of the MSM Tool for the Chinese KB2000 Hydrogen OS devices.
A few people confirmed that this is indeed working, but I am importing this phone to South Africa, and just want some extra peace of mind before I make the purchase.
My apologies if someone feels I created this post unnecessarily, but I am willing to write a guide for the Chinese version on how to return it to stock to help somebody else out there.
I will truly appreciate it if somebody can shed some light on this thread.
Thanks a lot everyone!

I think returning to stock HOS or OOS is not such a problem.
Look more precisely on other things like carrier support of chinese version (KB2000) in your country, especially if you're going to use 5G, because chinese version has different LTE/5G bands, so it may not reach max internet speed your carrier provides.
