In need of help!!! - MTCD Software Development

I have Malaysk installed in my px5 with android 10. I have been searching for the reverse cam settings to adjust contrast, brightness, screen resolution, and I'm unable to locate it. Does anyone have any idea where this is or how to bring the settings up. I have tried long-pressing, short pressing, i have tried looking in the factory settings and still unable to find it. Any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

What does malaysk recommend for paid rom support

i didn't get the full version yet currently still running the lite. Wanted to try it out before buying the rom completely, but if it's missing this setting then I would rather find a good rom with settings for the reverse camera. I have posted in the rom thread by they have not gotten back to me. Decided to reach out to the community to see if anyone else has encountered the same thing and can provide assistance.

So I don't have an other option on my factory settings menu. The only reverse camera setting I can find in factory settings is to enable or disable the reverse cam that's about it.

Which MCU version do you have installed? The newer MCU versions have settings for this in the factory settings.

First off, I want to thank you for the help. The only settings that I have for the reverse camera are to enable or disable (Prohibit Reverse) the option for contrast and saturation affects the whole radio and has no settings for the resolution which is the main one I'm looking for. May switch back to the factory firmware and see if it is available. But I was gonna pay for the full version but Malaysk has not responded to my question and don't want to pay for the firmware if that settings is not even included.

Reversing brightness, Saturation and contrast should be the settings you looking for.

The reversing brightness just blows out the image, and the contrast and saturation affect the whole UI of the head unit not just the reverse camera the whole entire radio the radio's colors and saturation are fine.

No way to save camera settings?

I want to be able to change the settings in tjmhe camera app and have them as I left them when I fire the camera up again butbit seems the settings are lost on exiting. Any way to make them stick between use?

The only one that doesn't stick for me is the Exposure setting, everything else sticks (front/back, flash on/off, white balance).
Looks like another bug, feature request that needs to be reported (or starred if already reported) at: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/list
The camera software on the Nexus S is the biggest disappointment, software-wise, on the phone for me. Not nearly as nice as the Samsung or HTC camera software.
Thanks, haven't tried the other settings, exposure was the one I wanted to stick... sods law!

Night Shot mode issues/crashing?

Anyone else having issues with the Night Shot mode?
It seems inconsistent in that it will either crash or produce a terrible low light picture.
Seems the following occurs for me (MHA-L09 stock firmware):
- load the camera app up and enter Night Shot mode, crashes (see pic 1 of it "processing") - though can see it is processing the low light and the image looks good, but it fails to process the image and save (also had to use another phone to take pic of it as was unable to screenshot it
- try and get back to the app after closing (clearing from memory) and cannot enter it
- reboot, open camera, take a few normal pics and then use Night Shot mode. Successfully captures and processes but the resulting low light image is terrible - full of noise! (see pic 2)
- After trial and error it managed to take a decent pic (see pic 3)
Pretty dam disappointed with this brand new device performing like this...
Hopefully an update could solve this?
Running MHA-L09C432B138
Are you using an sd card?
Try clearing camera data from app settings.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I have tried both clearing the app data and not saving to SD card - just tried that now and it saved (didn't crash on processing) but saved a low quality 'noisy' image.
It's strange though, as whilst processing the image on the display looks great - it's the finished product that lets it down!
In night mode did you changed the iso or auto?
That's weird shouldn't be bad,all you can do is a factory rest and try.
If it's still noisy something is faulty, need a replacement.

Will try that for sure. I don't believe it's hardware fault, must be software.

Regrettably I missed out that detail! I think at the time of writing then I had restored back and so regarded that as 'stock', but I potentially suspect that restoring with Funky MAY be an aspect....
I am tempted to do a full system restore with HiSuite with pure stock (non-Funky) and test that out

As far as i know hisuite wont work for non Chinese phones.
Do a factory reset from settings, with stock recovery installed,it will do a low level format, could be ur internal storage is corrupted and this can help.

Ok yes that's a great suggestion, will try that out!
Many thanks
I have the same problem. I'm on stock (MHA-L29C432B138), SD-Card or internal storage, same result like in OP.
Edit:
I noticed something. When I take a picture and it shows "in progress" and wait until the lockscreen comes and relock the phone, the pic is taken. Sometimes the camera is still enabled, sometimes it's closed
I tried the same with my Mate 8 (NXT-L29C432B560) , it's the same result.
Looks like it is a Firmware (EMUI/Nougat) bug..
I have the same problem with night shot mode but after change the animation scale to 0.5 in developer option the problem solved. before that i set to off. sorry for my english.

Hi, thanks so much! It works! :good:
Solved it thanks!
are you using HDR mode?
if so disable it, HDR mode makes low light look bad.

Excellent suggestion. It also worked for me! I also changed the 3 animation settings (Window animation Scale, Transition animation scale, Animator duration scale) and set the value at 0.5x and the camera is now fine.
Excellent, thank you so much!!
Thanks so much! I'm new here, signed in just so I could say thank you since this solved my camera problem. Anyone have opinions after owning the Mate 9 for a while? I just got it to replace my Nexus 6P with battery issues- not sure I love it yet.
I'm amazed how well smartphone cameras in general, work, given their size.
A typical 8mp sensor, should be able to print an A3 (11x17) image, but who prints anymore?
They keep placing more and more sensors in these things. More megapixels, typically is only
good for crop/zooming. Increasing the sensors can sometimes backfire because the signal to
noise ratio (crosstalk) increases due to the very small spacing between signal paths.
I wish they would just increase the SIZE of the sensor, put a real 5-10x optical zoom lens on the back
similar to the non phone Samsung Zoom a few years back. But with the trend still that phones have
to be "slim, sexy, colorful & stylish", don't see that happening.

Selfie photos Reversed..

I took a few selfie photos and the resulting photo is reversed (back to front). Any ideas how to resolve this? I've looked at the settings and cannot find the solution.
Does nobody know how to do this? I suspect you'll want to when you get one of these. I've checked all the camera settings that I can find (noting too that they are different dependant upon what camera mode you are in, and can find nothing .
Might be fixed in the next software update.
Mine are not reversed. I no selfie expert lol, but looks fine.
This is the setting on the 10 for that

Go into camera and make sure you are using the front camera. Then go into the drop-down menu and select settings - camera settings - there is an option for mirrored selfies.

I suspect those offering advice do not have the U11, or a different ROM. The photos below show the settings when in Selfie mode.
I too have an HTC 10 and the setting it has is missing on this handset, at least my one.

Thanks. There is no scroll bar so it appears as though you are looking at the only menu items, as per the screen capture.
Duhhh.

Question No screen resolution setting after Android 12 update

Hi all, after updating my S21+ to Android 12 there is no more option to change the screen resolution under Settings > Display.
Did it happen to someone else? Any idea on how to restore it?
Thanks
I'm wondering the same damn thing. Phone rebooted so after the update and everything looks a little bit larger and I figured the resolution change I had made when I got the phone got overwritten. Looks like sure enough and now the option to change it is missing or in a different place... Laaaaaame
there was never this resolution setting for S21 and S21+ since launch. it is only available for S21 Ultra..

I had it before, and it's still described in the user guide in the menu and in the downloadable PDF on Samsung Support website. Exynos version.

So on reddit someone suggested changing the screen zoom. That worked for me. Apparently the upodate derped that setting so I had to go in and up tick it then down tick it to where it started to get back to what I was used to seeing. Solved.

It doesn't exist any kind of that setting. Just on ultra. And I have no problem at all with android 12. It works flawlessly.

There is no setting also on my end since android 11. However you have an option to change the Minimum width on Developer settings. The latest update of android 12 fix the screen zoom issue, they revet back the Minimum width to 411
