I've got a bit of a problem. After installing a rom and deciding to go back to stock, I've run into the issue that I cannot for the life of god get my fingerprint registered. My phone says it fails to register, and I've factory reset it every way possible. I'm pretty positive that it's something to do with the persist img, but when I used the solution the one guy posted for it, it of course didn't work. Why doesn't the msm tool fix it? Doesn't it reset everything? What should I do?

Hello @Qualex11 and I'd like to also welcome you to XDA. I hope you like your visits and stays on this website and that you always receive valuable support in case of any problems.
First, please be aware that we don't delete threads after XDA has been indexed by search engines as this would provide HTTP 404 errors and in turn a poor user experience. We rather close a thread on request of a thread owner like you!
However, in this case I like the thread to remain open unless you definitely want to have it closed but with a serious request to you. XDA is about sharing - not only development but also knowledge and experiences. How about if you share here what you did that solved your issue? I'm convinced there're other XDA members around who have either already experienced the same problem and are eagerly waited for a solution or there're might be others who will be very happy in future if they directly find a fix for their issue.
I honestly invite you to present your solution here - and we're all be very grateful! If you don't want just feel free to shoot me a PM or to report via the report function, and your thread will be closed.

I actually fixed the problem with a tutorial about it on youtube. I had just messed up a step previously, but I repeated it and it worked. Just do a quick search "oneplus 8 persist fix" on youtube, and it should be the first one

Hi, yesterday I wanted to try latest CM12 for Saga (20141204) and there are some fixes needed:
- touchscreen
- home key
However, whenever I move those files into designated folders I get bootloop (If I am not trying to fix anything, system boots as normal).

What am I doing wrong?
Also to try that, it is necessary to have TWRP 2.8 recovery for Saga, which for some reason takes ages to load - everytime i go to recovery, it takes like 5 minutes to load - when I compare it to latest 4EXT, it is matter of seconds...

CM-12 OpenDesireProject for saga has just begun. What you were facing is common to all, on top of that the built you mentioned has a missing file, so it behaved weirdly. Try the newer built, it is much better, but still some bugs to be solved. Probably in February next year, improvement should be moving faster, this is just my expectation. So be patient.
People should keep in mind that posting on a commercial forum and voluntary forum might be differently interpreted because voluntary forum needs supporting rather than demanding. While a post on commercial forum is quite common, the same post might be a demanding post on a voluntary forum.

After a lot of time searching on internet, someone else uploaded the stock rom for this cellphone (which for some reason its NOT in the oficial huawei page). Please notice that the link is not mine, I just found it.
By the way, I tried it on my cellphone and it worked!

Now, I know and some of you guys might've realised that I have already made a thread about it here, but it got closed before I got a chance to reply (10 posts restriction, cheers XDA admins ).
So, I've decided to re-post it again, so I could give an update what else I've tried. Quoting from here.

So, recently I've decided to hop back into Snapchat (as changing schools meant new friends that used Snapchat as often as Facebook), but the problem starts when I try to log back into my old account.
Firstly, it could not log me in ("Can't log in" message), so after doing a basic Google search I've found that removing Xposed and then logging into Snapchat worked for people. Needless to say, I've done that(which took about 30+ minutes to optimize apps post uninstall and reinstall), but after opening the app, all I've saw is a GUI of Snapchat(aka the buttons), camera screen was black, and after a second, the app force closed without notification(aka without "Unfortunately, XYZ has stopped" prompt or that sort of thing).
Here's the specs of device:
Device: Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus(GT-I9105P), s2vep
ROM: Unofficial CM 12.1 20160115 build, the one I've got redirected from CM wiki to
Xposed build: v80 SDK v22 build
Here's what I've tried so far:
-Reinstalling the app over 9000 times;
-Clearing the app's data/cache;
-Method mentioned in the story above;
-Bashing my head into a wall until it started to hurt;
-Praying Snapchat devs to stop using "no go for root" policy;
-Creating a new account without Xposed.
Any help on this regard would be really appreciated. I'm totally desperate on options and Casper is NOT a good alternative to me, I want the original app.

Also, Vatsal replied to use Xposed Uninstaller zip to flash it. And yes, I've tried that method, without any luck though. Even if I uninstalled Xposed and then installed Snapchat, it would still show the black cam crash. Installing Xposed back and adding Snapprefs made no difference whatsoever.
What I've also noticed that in login screen, the front camera worked flawlessly, which is weird and doesn't make any sense.
More help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello,
In the thread linked above, I didn't mean to uninstall Xposed apk. I meant to flash the uninstaller zip with a custom recovery.
If you still have this issue, you may post your query here Ask any Q Noobfriendly with all relevant details, the experts there maybe able to assist you.

Yes, Vatsal that's what i meant after all - using custom recovery to flash xposed uninstaller(god for bid, no need to uninstall apk). Neverthless, method was fruitless.
But thanks for pointing out into another thread, i'll take a look into it.

I am trying to flash my xperia xz premium but it cannot enter flash mode. I did exactly what i should to enter flash mode. The LED is shining green just like how it's supposed to. However flashtool simply shows

There's no rule against mirroring.
I'm not claiming "your" tool as my own, hence no rules has been broken.

Can you link me to that rule. The only rules I saw were about people taking other works and claiming them as their own.
I saw nothing about simply mirroring something.

Rule 12-4.
- in-process builds start showing up on forums when the developer is not yet ready to release the work;

Also it can be also related to rule 12.1:
12-1. Give credits where due - Credits and acknowledgements for using and releasing work which is based on someone else's work are an absolute must. Works reported to have no credits will be taken down until proper acknowledgements are added by the member in question;
I didn't gave acknowledgements to anybody to share my work further, right?

That's in no way the same thing as what I was doing. I simply offered an alternative download for the tool so people could use it since you were banned.
I in no way altered it, used it as a base for other work, I didn't claim it as my own, people who downloaded it knew who the creator were etc.
Sorry but no. I will not remove the current links, I will leave that up to a mod to decide if they its breaking rules or not.
Rule 12.4 as I have temporary removed OP because malware was on UPX packed exe, it was not a ready for releasing so I removed OP.

I have included GordonGate flash driver in the latest newflasher, yesterday version, simple download and double click newflasher.exe it will ask you for driver archive extraction, confirm "y" and GordonGate.7z will become available in the same folder, extract GordonGate.7z using SevenZip archiver and install GordonGate drivers trought Windows device mannager and you're done

haha realy? What's the difference when there OP is not ready jet? No problem mate, lets forget it ok? Just for further, hope we get clear statement about mirror links and get it explicitly defined in forum rules. I am 7 years here and thing which I learned is definitelly to not mirror anybody work. Just look into my 7720 posts and you definitelly will not see any mirror link inside any of the my posts. You will learn that when you become developer and when you start working hard on something, I am pretty sure you will not like when somebody start mirroring your work. Lets forget all now and leave this OP clean

Hello guys, I am unable to update my system and am stuck at EMUI 5.1
I have tried everything I found but I am (most importantly) stuck at unlocking the bootloader and accroding to this topic (https://www.xda-developers.com/huawei-honor-request-bootloader-unlock-code/) I might be too late to do so ..
When I try to update it downloads the update, seems like installing but when the phone restarts it ask me to connect to wifi but when I try to do so it keeps searching for WIFI with no result ...
I dunno what to do else but really want to wipe all data and install the fresh EMUI 8 .. what are my possibilities? Is there any way to force flash data (like format C .. I am an IT guy but not experienced with droids ...
thx for any help - this is really desperate
PS: if any info is needed please let me know.. will provide as much as possible

EDIT2: they already contacted me from H support but claimed that they have no rights to generate the code anymore (since July 24, 2018) ..
What are my other possibilities? I have an un-update-able phone now and update is prompting every week (which is quite bothering already ..
