Question No case with OnePlus 9 and Google Messages and Google Phone - OnePlus 9

As title says.
OnePlus 9 does not come with the clear case they sent for free to EVERY youtube reviewer and every "ambassador" on OnePlus forums for review.
Also the Google Phone and Messaging app are the default apps, so that's a huge +

Started getting spam calls after switching from a phone with Google Dialer to S7

I recently switched from a Moto X Pure (with Google Dialer installed) to a Galaxy S7. I rarely received spam calls before. Since switching to the S7, I've been receiving several spam calls every day. Is it possible that the Google Dialer was protecting me from spam calls before, or just a coincidence and my number got into some nasty databases around the same time?
I prefer the Google Dialer anyway, but can't download through the Play Store. I've seen some apk downloads for the Google Dialer. Are these pretty safe to use on an S7 on Nougat?

It's more than likely that it's a coincidence - But it could be linked to the websites you've visited?
apk mirror is a reputable source for apks - Here's the link to the the Google Phone - Make a Nandroid before you install it and read the description of Google Phone to make sure that it's compatible with your device and Carrier Android Version number.

I cannot root/unlock bootloader on my device as it wouldn't be allowed on my employer's network anymore. So I don't believe I'll be able to take a NANDROID backup. I will do some more research to see if it's safe to install straight to a stock S7. Thank you!

Phone apps with swipe to call/text

In the past I had a Samsung phone whose phone app had swipe to call/text. Now I have an Android One device with the pretty bland looking Google Phone app that can't do that so I'm looking for a replacement app with that feature that is still being updated. I use True Phone but my experiences with them concerning updates aren't the best since it took them well over a year to update that app when I was using it on my Nexus 5X and on Android 8 I couldn't use it properly anymore because I couldn't clear the missed call notifications in True Phone. And I'm not entirely certain this app will work under Android Q so I'm looking for a better phone app. It doesn't have to be in the play store though it is a preference. I already tried finding one in the play store but a lot of it is trash.

Mate 30 pro questions that are not easily searchable (just bought 5g 8+256 China)

Hi guys, came from my old 3 years old s7 edge in China,
Just bought an 5G/8+256gb/LIO-AN00,
I've got a few questions which: any question answered is ok for me
1) any other app to mimic youtube app (the only app i miss, because the browser is not as intuitive as the app) do i really need the google app store?
---btw, if i install it, will the google app store begin to suck more battery power?
2) my old phone, s7 edge, i could take some pictures, and those pictures have something like a mini 3 second video, how do i activate it again with huawei, or what apps do i need, and what it is called?
--- How do I organize pictures gallery for oct/nov/dec, etc. Sending picture inside wechat displays the date it was taken, but at the gallery nope
3) what's that "boost" supposed to do?
4) Huawei Mobile Services, seems like they permission for everything, there's a pop up every time after i use wechat pay, are those safe?
5) any way to combine both gestures and the 3/4 buttons together?
6) On the (3 android) buttons, when you press the one that makes multiple windows appear (left to right) to go to task or close, how can i make it appear up/down(cascade)?
Miscellaneous questions
any other app to count my steps? i know huawei health have it, but the UI is a bit ugly (unlike my s7)
Any way to transfer the old notes from my old device?
what are your though on the browser?
thanks!
Hey. Are you able to do real time segmentation in your video recording?
Like the video below suggest as I am unable to with the same phone
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YSSX8-Ymo0w
i couldn't find any options that do that under video edit, and during video editing, nor any good info on google, maybe it'll come later or having some difficulties?
Hopefully. Because I've been searching everywhere and nothing about it. Should have been included as promised at the event launch
Newpipe for YouTube. Get f-droid store. For downloading apps from play use aurorastore. not sure if working on this model but you can also check out MicroG.

Oneplus Apps instead of Google Apps

In stock OnePlus 8T, applications like Phone, messages, contacts are of google only and i want the Stock Oneplus Apps.
Is there any way to make it works as only apk's cannot make it work because many supporting apps needed. If someone can extract it from oneplus 8 and 8pro it would be very helpful.
I am not following your question.
I have a Oneplus8T
phone, messages, calendar, and so on are the stock Oneplus apps , not google apps.
Seems to be google apps

Indian KB2001 version seems to have stock google apps preinstalled
Today I received my 8T unit (India) and I was so disappointed after seeing so many google apps instead of original oneplus apps, e.g, phone, messages, contacts, etc. In no way does it feel like that oxygenos i used to experience on my oneplus 5. Highly Disappointed.

Question ARCore on Pixel 7 Pro?

I'm researching my next phone purchase, and the Pixel 7 Pro is on my "top 3" list (along with the S22 Ultra and Z Fold 4).
I was shocked to discover that the Pixel 7 Pro, Google's flagship (and Premiere Developer Alpha-Phone) apparently doesn't support ARCore. WTF?!?
Did Google pull a "Google" and decide to just unceremoniously walk away from it?
Did they just give it a new name?
Is it officially "coming soon", but for whatever reason didn't make it in time for Launch Day itself?
Weirdly, searching Google for "ARcore" AND "Pixel 7" site:google.com turns up a bunch of results whose summaries on the result page seemingly mention ARCore... but the actual pages don't have anything that a brute-force browser string-search for "ARCore" on the page can find, and for whatever reason, those particular pages don't allow viewing the cached copy of the originally-indexed page, so it looks like Google went back and scrubbed the pages after they were indexed (which is itself kind of weird, because you'd assume that Google's OWN pages would literally be indexed up to the minute at all times).
Seems they don't call this ARCore anymore. My Pixel 7 Pro has an app installed called "Google Play Services for AR" which in the description states: "This service was previously known as ARCore." I tested it by installing a sample ARCore measuring app from Google Play and it worked as expected.
ARCore works perfectly. Google Maps has working AR-Features like Live view and apps like ARCore Depth Lab work.
( This is the play store link to AR: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.ar.core which is also installed on my Pixel 7 )
