Downloads folder disappears on its own - General Questions and Answers

Hey there! Well after reading the title you must be knowing what the problem is. I have three devices : a galaxy tab 2 p3100 running android 4.4, a lenovo tab 3 10 plus running stock android 6 and a galaxy grand 2 running stock android 4.3.
Everyone must be knowing the folders there are in any device: android, dcim, ringtone, music, photos, podcasts, Bluetooth, and downloads. Now out of these I only use android, Bluetooth, downloads, and dcim. So I thought why to keep the others when I don't use them and so I deleted them from all three phones. At that time my tab 2 was running android 6 too (custom ROM RR).
2 or 3 days went by and when I went to file manager to search something, I saw there was no downloads folder ! This happened in only tab 2 and lenovo tab 3 but in grand 2 its still there. I did a factory reset on tab 2 and all the folders were back !! And now I installed android 4.4 ROM on tab 2 and did the same almost 5 days ago but downloads folder is still there ! So is it a problem in android 6 or what?? Please help me ! I don't want to factory reset my tab 3.
Thank you !

Maybe it's one of the apps that causes this issue, try booting into safe mode and see if the problem persists.

try downloading something from google chrome and your download folder would recreate itself

when you download where are the file dropped? did you give google chrome the "storage" permission?

Yes I did but I simply don't know. I am able to see it in downloads in chrome but in file manager no downloads folder !
Performing a factory reset helps but I didn't want to. Should I delete the other folders again now ( as I am back on android 6 on tab 2 and the same rom where this problem started) and tell you later what happened ?

Try using a different file explorer. There is no need to use the basic one.

[Q] Force close and no wifi

The other day I factory reset my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus without backing it up.
F*ck that smilie face.
Anyways, when I first turned it on after the reset I received an error message stating "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectadly. Please try again." This message comes up every time I power on my tab. I've tried fixing permissions with ROM Manager but both it and Superuser force close. I can no longer connect to any wifi, I know its the tab and not the router. I've tried open wifi at McDonalds, unlocked the wifi here and tried but still wouldn't connect, however my 360 connects to my home wifi just fine.
Before I reset the tab I know I deleted some stock apps like Browser and Samsung apps that came with it that I wasn't going to use and were taking up space, but that has been months ago and I haven't had any of these problems until I reset it.
When I rooted so I could try using ROM manager I used root.zip, and then downloaded the superuser.zip and installed both from my sd card, but I can't update the superuser binaries or grant superuser rights to any apps.
I'm not really sure what to do, my tablet is a mess. I was thinking just a clean install of 3.2 could fix most if not all issues but I can't find it anywhere online.
Any help is really appreciated.
I would flash a new rom, stock HC or ICS Austria doesn't matter.

ROM Manager will not work properly on the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, 7.7, or any other device.
1_Flash CWM recovery for p6200
2_Full wipe
3_Flash rom stock samsung with odin.
The only way to fix this is to repartition your phone with a .pit file that has been designed not to use the the corrupted sectors of your internal storage.
IMPORTANT NOTE : Remove your SD Card and SIM CARD Please
Run ODIN IN ADMIN Mode
a) Now you have to repartition your tab plus
b) Download the following (Importantly the .pit file)
Pit.file p6200.zip

I'm going to try this tonight when I have some more free time, thank you very much for the detailed reply. Does this mean that I will lose some internal storage space if parts are corrupted?

Yes, is correct. ....
Isn't that edited pit file repartitioning only needed if the tab has been bricked due to the "brick bug"...
I would suggest first just flash some stock firmware file (can be found for example on sammobile.com).
In case that doesn't work, then use the repartitioning.

HY,you can create a folder in the internal storage ,and name it as you want, after that just drag the files,it doesnt matter how, it can be one by one or all at the same time.IF you have some apk and want to install them, you have to download a file manager from play store(like astro)and install them from there.

unknown file on my Nexus 5 - data_VZ8E_S5FS0_0FQ7A.bin

Hi,
There's this .bin file that keeps showing up in my Nexus 5 storage named "data_VZ8E_S5FS0_0FQ7A.bin". I don't know where it comes from or what it is, or even if it's safe. I've tried deleting it before and it just comes back. I've done a full wipe of my phone too and when I install all the apps I used before the wipe it just appears again.
Can someone help me out? Thanks!
If it keeps coming back it is an important file it prob doesent affect performance or anything else It would be best to leave it alone

[Q] Cannot access SD-Card in Galaxy Core 2 SM-G355H ?

Hello folks, i have Galaxy Core 2 SM-G355H and i have rooted my phone and installed the CWM recovery, which i think has done good.
Even the phone after being rooted hasn't done me any good.
I had initially started a topic here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-core/help/copy-to-ssd-samsung-galaxy-core-2-sm-t3033178
But the OP hasn't been able to give me some working solutions.
So i am asking to anyone who knows about this stuff. I have rooted and installed CWM recovery, that still given me authority
over my SD-Card, i cannot copy/paste/delete/rename basically access it fully.
The only way i can do is, remove the SD-Card and insert in a Card reader and copy/paste/delete etc.
But i cannot directly do from phone itself.
I already have fX Explorer, Solid explorer and ES File Explorer.
Nothing has worked, so i am asking can anyone show me how to do that.
I would be grateful for your suggestion.
Awaiting reply.

Have you flashed new firmware ?
New kernels (boot.img) have default ro acess to sdcard !
Please state your infos :
Model
Modem
Core build ...
The workaround I provide for this type won't work after update !!!
You will have to flash previous boot or recompile the new boot

Have U read my last reply ?

The FS /system and other too is/are readonly (ro) in device, so if u want to delete or copy inside this partition u must change it to rw (readwrite), it's better for you to use some Explorer root based application like FX Explorer with root addon ...
If u have copied the update zip to extSdCard and run the update procedure in stock recovery U should be able to copy/edit/delete files on your extSdCard - Card if the install were sucessfull.
For a check: Install app https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...=nextapp.sdfix and check again things now U'r rooted. Regards

I have already installed at least a dozen of explorer, most promising was fx explorer with it free root access add-on, the other was ES File
explorer. They both can't copy/paste files to Memory card.
My device is Galaxy Core 2 SM-G355H, Android 4.4.2. I have already rooted and installed CWR mode, but i havn't flashed my firmware.
I am searching now for a possible firmware update, that could access memory card.
Could you do a small part from your side and find a firmware that can be flashed in my device, i will try from my side. :good:
Will update , if i find some solution.

The users in this forum don't know how to read posts. U'r among them too. Sorry for my statement, but it's true.
It's not only the explorers, apps or managers that can copy files from/to. The KitKat have a fix for KitKat SDCard ro access.

All of the stock firmwares uses KK RO acess for SdCard unless U install some custom & fixed ones.
Have also provided many tutorials in the subforums detaily how to fix it for GC2 models.
Latest firmwares uses some extra functionality regarding SDCards, fix will not work unless ...
Enjoy.

OK, thanks for the statement. I accept, i am a newbie here. I can figure my way through most of the other forum out there.
But one pertaining to Mobile device require's little more knowledge, because its tricky, since there are a huge number of devices.
I am not a regular visitor.
Anyways, i found a firmware for my device.
Link:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G355H/
http://samsung-updates.com/details/42605/Galaxy_Core_2/SM-G355H/INS/G355HXXU0AOC1.html
The second link to the firmware matched the hashes to the link in the first link.
Did the Odin thing, and all the necessary steps. But still i am not able to copy/paste/delete etc function.
So i technically give up for this device, i'll use it as it is.
@StratOS_HTC: I tried the KitKat access app from Google Play store, a number of them. But they all showed similar results.
But i'll be open to your opinion.
Thank you.:good:

As said and will said again :
Please read carefully !
Hope your phone works ok and everything else on phone is ok.
If you can't access your extSdCard throught phone do a low level format ( and hope you don't use 64 GB ).
Hope also you don't use any other EXT partition on your sdcard. or any other sd linkage or swap options on your sdcard
Format the sdcard as only extFAT or FAT on any other comp card reader and reformat it on the phone !
Now you should be able to access the sdcard on your phone if every thing else on phone is ok.
If U'r rooted on stock ( KitKat sdcard restriction ) and if U have installed nextapp.sdfix and grant su access to it the app will change this permissions for you and you will be able to aceess rw to sdcard now.

Hello everyone, I bought this phone about a month ago and using it during this time. Today I decided to install GMS to my phone since I don't have windows I tried to backup with my Mac after few hours later with no result I found that hisuite for Mac is not working for gms and then I setup windows to my Mac. But still I didn't get any result when I restore the hisuite doesn't recognize the backup when I back up another app the backup data doesn't look like what's used for llzplay there are more than 6-7 files appears unlike llzplay. So my question is what should I do to fix this problem. I saw some people said I should factory reset the phone but I've been using this phone for more than a month so I have many apps and datas. Thanks for your helps ?

You need to unzip the zip files containing LZPlay on a computer first and then transfer them to a USB drive. The Mate 30 Pro cannot extract zip files.
