LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.
Instructions :
Download Twrp, GApps (if you need them), and Magisk (Version 21.4 or older).
Flash the downloaded TWRP via fastboot
Boot to recovery
Flash the latest build and Magisk.
Flash GApps and any other necessary add-ons
Known issues:
Carrier Video Calling (ViLTE)
Do bug reports in the comment section
Downloads :
Redmi 6(cereus) Download
Magisk: Download
Recovery redmi 6: TWRP OrangeFox
Google Apps: OpenGApps (use arm/10.0 nano gapps)
Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

Hi, Im happy that someone has finally done an Android 10 ROM for Redmi 6, but I have a question.
Ive tried to install a custom ROM on my Redmi 6, but it hard bricked...
Have you tried to flash this on a real device (just making sure before I actually install it)?

Hi, I think you misunderstood me. I've tried other ROM that bricked my device, not this.
EDIT: My phone is working fine.
Anyway, thanks for the reply
Thanks for the rom . A great job! I just installed it on my redmi 6 (cereus_Brazil) and for now it's working well. I will continue testing.
Thanks for the ROM.
It's working very well.
There are tiny little issues but none affects general usability since the ROM is rock solid.
1. The first minor issue is the fingerprint(it is working very well) is working like a.. mouse click and if I tap the fingerprint while phone is unlocked, it will select things, start apps, etc.
2. The maximum volume level is lower than stock ROM.
Successfully flashed the ROM but keeps getting pop-ups "android.process.acore keeps stopping".
How to fix?
Hey, I tried flashing this without clearing userdata, but it failed when decrypting them. So I wiped userdata, and the OS booted fine, but I cannot actually write to userdata, so downloading files does not work, taking photos, etc.
How can I fix this? I don’t mind wiping the whole phone again; how should I wipe it to prevent this issue? Cheers.
EDIT: I tried a full wipe, MTP worked fine in TWRP, but after a flash userdata stopped working again.
Hi, i recenyly own this device. And MUI is just not for my taste.
Are you still maintaining this rom?
If yes, then i would very happy to install it. You know, there is not that much custom roms for this one.
Anyway, thank you for your work
Hey there, well i have tried many of the custom roms (unofficial) for my redmi 6 cereus, like carbon rom, pixel experience, pixel experience plus, but none of them worked properly, i was somehow facing issues, like camera isn't working etc and i had to return to the stock miui, well i am tired installing diff roms again and again, will yours work properly, what are the issues i can actually face in this your provided lineage os rom? Have you tried and tested it perfectly? I dont wanna brick my device though....

Hey hi, I'm not very knowledgeable about how to use forums but I try anyway. Since my redmi 6 has a 64-bit architecture, but runs a 32-bit system (I saw it using aida64), does this rom allow it to run in 64-bit or not?

no rom allows the phone to run in 64 bit mode, because the released kernel source is 32 bit

Everything is all right. Battery life is a way better (about 50% longer for me).
I can not tell you about VoLTE because I do not use it.
I just do not have a led notification while charging but it is not a problem.

Sailfish OS is a GNU/Linux based mobile operating system, which is gesture-driven for the ease of use. It runs natively as glibc (not Android's bionic), has bash and busybox (not toolbox), uses Qt for UX, and other opensource projects in its middleware -- which basically is just like a Linux on your desktop, but needs Android drivers for some of device's hardware.
And everything else you need to know:

OTA updates
If you have installed version PGZ18 or above, you can perform an OTA update using the commands
Edit /usr/share/ssu/features.d/adaptation-community.ini and change the URL to:
http://repo.merproject.org/obs/nemo:/devel:/hw:/xiaomi:/mido/sailfishos_%(release)/
To install just the latest packages from my rep do:
version --dup
To update the sailfish OS release, set the release version using:
ssu re a.b.c.d (where a.b.c.d is the release number like 2.1.2.3)
and then do
version --dup
as root. perform a reboot afterwards
To upgrade to a new Sailfish OS release, enter these commands as root
ssu release <version> (eg, ssu release 2.1.1.24)
version --dup

Well i have flashed Xenon HD today through the latest TRWP didn't face encryption issue but afterwards someone reported that his data got encrypted by flashing the same Rom.
Few days ago i have tried the AICP rom got my data encrypted but when looked into the thread some of the guys didn't faced the problem and the Dev also stated thats not a Rom issue.
3rd one, When testing AEX(unofficial) 5.0, when i flashed it using TRWP-3.1.1-0. Flashing Rom+Gapps caused Google Play FCs. So i have to flash gapps after 1st boot. When consulted with william.johhn7 he told he haven't faced the issue at all. When i compared the TRWP version, it's turned out that he was using TRWP-3.2.1 while I was on 3.1.1-0. Then after updating trwp i flashed the rom+Gapps but you know there is really no Google play FCs.
I don't know about that redwolf recovery but I think form above observations trwp versions does matter when it comes to flashing a Rom.

I faced frequent network drop from first boot. Please find fix for this problem. Lineage os 9/11 by charan has no such problem, if possible look into his code.

Why are there two havoc os custom roms for the X3 pro? you guys should've worked together to bring up a better and more stable version than having two separate ones.
And the build has prebuilt gapps, thought you said it was a vanilla version above!! Can you make a vanilla one?
Thank you for the hard work.

Hi Mate,
I have made one build long ago when we started doing prebuilt vendor builds, that build wasn't posted anywhere because developers are at work on oss vendor, I'm already in Development group of Poco X3 pro and I told many times there also that I'm going to apply for Havoc official builds, Still that guy made a build and posted everywhere, he's in our developer's group also but he never responds to my messages. Regarding this build, this is an Gapps build and if I got selected for the official one, then there will also be Vanilla builds.

Hi, is this for "fingerprint hardware not available" error message? Thanks
Hello,
The ROM installs correctly but the phone does not restart. it gets stuck in Bottload mode.
Being new to all of this, I was wondering if I was installing the correct GAPPS files. They are however compatible with LineageOS.
Do you have a link to recommend to me on this?
I also took rahul9999's advice but that doesn't change anything.
I have tried several ROMs, the only one I can install is LineageOS mentioned above. And it is not compatible with Smali Patcher.
Can you help me please ?
Note: I am French and zero in English. I apologize in advance for the somewhat wobbly google translation.

If you wanna install Havoc os without running into any issues, make sure you're on MIUI 12.0.6 and using latest TWRP recovery, at least that's what I used. Plus, you don't need to install gapps on this build of Havoc os, it has prebuilt gapps.

You are not supposed to flash Gapps, that probably caused bootloop.
Thank you for your quick responses. I tried without flashing GAPPS it didn't change anything. On the other hand, I had the MIUI 12.0.5 version, so I will download this one: https://fr.gizchina.it/2021/07/miui-12-global-eea-stabile-xiaomi-redmi-download/
and try again.
With your help I was able to install the ROM. On the other hand, as soon as I put the "Smali Patcher" patch on Magisk, it resets to bootload. Do you know a ROM compatible with?
On my Galaxy S7 I had to opt for "XEF-G930FXXU8ETI2-20201102163344"
Sorry to bother you.

Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Yes, it's working. So far so good, I can't provide screenshots cause I already switched ROMS although I'd still recommend it since it's almost bugless and it has a good performance. It's just, lineage is not my thing. I'm currently using DotOS 5.2 on my Redmi 9C.

What do you mean? If you're referring to the installation, no it won't. Custom Recoveries are essential to Custom ROMs, therefore it requires a Custom Recovery (unless it's a GSI).

How is the dot os ROM? I see there are many bugs posted no hotspot will be an issue for me but can probably do without it.
But as a daily user is it worth it???

So far so good I have faced no issues in daily use yet. It comes with android 12 like ui system that is really cool And the safety net is also working fine. the only bugs I have noticed so far are. No hotspot, no double tap to wake as you already know. And also the face id is not working other Than that it's pretty good especially the interface.so I will say it is definitely worth checking out.
Awesome I'll definitely give it a try and haven't expierenced android 12 yet so that's a sure plus and knowing dot OS its probably hella smooth
Maybe u can try a 3rd party app for hotspot? U never know

Many many thanks for your work friend, and for the explanations and screenshots.
I feel motivated to go, to the next step. Ehehehe.
Thanx very much for your efforts!! I have a question regarding the NikGapps: Which files do I have to download if I only want to have core functions, comparable with the pico package of Open Gapps?

Just core... This is minimal nikgapps package.
But if you would like to use Android auto you have to install that addon as well.
Thank you Ceracz. Any possibility to be official with OTA support?

Battery is good!
With MIUI, battery with 2 years need to be charged every day, with this rom i installed Magisk, universal GMS Doze and greenify and i have 40% battery left, with same usage and i am on second day of usage.
In addition, this rom is more fluid and faster, and bloatware free.
I found a terrible bug:
Call dialer is not working properly, i had to replace it by google call dialer app.
If i try to call someone, i only hear the ringing, i can´t see anything and no way to turn off the call.
Besides that, it´s working flawless i think!
If Im installing the linage os freshly from stock MIUI, I just need to wipe the system and then install the Linage os package? Awesome work, I am glad to see this phone still supported

You need to follow the steps mentioned above...
First step, is unlocking the bootloader, then you need to flash the compatible TWRP in fastboot, and then follow the steps, exactly as described above and you will be fine.
