I recently bought One Plus Nord 8/128GB which has the Oxygen OS 11.1.1.1.AC01AA. I wonder is it possible to root and if so how can root ?
Just use this thread but download stock boot img from here as you are on OOS 11.1.1.1.

Hello, I updated my one plus 9 to oxygen os 12 to test it and it seemed very bad to me as dowgrade to oxygen os 11 I have the tmobile version, can I change to global rom to downgrade it?
Just did this.
Have to use the T-Mo MSM. Using Global detected it as T-Mo and it refused to work.
After that, you can convert it to Global using the modified MSM and then apply 11.2.10.10 as normal.

Thread 'Gaining root access on New Oxygen OS A12 for the op9.' https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/gaining-root-access-on-new-oxygen-os-a12-for-the-op9.4373439/. This will work if you know how to pull images. I msm. Boot a patched.img and direct install on A11 then just carry root through ota updates. Good luck
