Very dark Screen - Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC Questions & Answers

Hi!
I'm a new one here. Sorry for my english.
I have a problem with my POCO. Since last night, my screen become dark for no reason (specially after locked the phone).
It's seems like the brightness is at the lowest (even if I increase with the cursor).
I've try to switch off and on, take off the Dark mode, play with all the option of the display/screen menu.
I updated Google Chrome and Android Webview...
Nothing works (even Dynamic colour manipulation on chrome://flags)
Sometimes it returned to light but not now.
Il someone has a solution, I will be extremely grateful.
Thank you,
Jo

[APP] Extra Dimmer Switch - UPDATE 10-03-10 - disabling/enabling of 'Auto Brightness'

Hi People,
I had a problem, I wanted to read a book and browse web sites on my N1 at night, whilst girlfriend was trying to sleep. The Nexus One even on its dimmest setting is quite bright at night and annoys said gf, so I was looking for a way to get the screen dimmer than stock levels, similar to the night mode functionality.
Turns out the job was far more technical than I first thought, and beyond my capabilities. PM'd Cyan, but as you might expect he seems too busy with other projects to help, no surprise there!
The help came from my Android Fandroid mate Richard over at Geekyouup!
He has kindly created an application that will reduce the brightness of my beloved Nexus one to level 10 (the default minimum is 30) from what ever brightness level you are currently on. Click the icon again, and it will restore your brightness to previous levels.
Unfortunatley, due to Android fail safes, he was unable to get the level below 10, (yet) but its a step better than stock minimum for me.
I have attached the apk for your night time pleasure here.
ALL the work was done by my man Rich Hyndman (@geekyouup)
You can also get the version here:
http://geekyouup.com/dimmer.apk
P.S I love the slightly off balanced light bulb icon Rich!!
very useful
thanks!
Just tried it, works great. I've cursed under my breath about wishing I could lower the brightness.. what a wonderful idea.
Hi thanks for sharing. However it does not work when auto brightness is enabled. Is it possible to suggest to the author to support it as well?
On: Toggle off auto brightness and dim.
Off: Toggle on auto brightness.
Wysie - could do, I'm here. I know about the issue when Auto-brightness is enabled, working on it right now....
ok, version 1.0.2 is attached, now supports Automatic Brightness toggling as per Wysie's suggestion. If Automatic Brightness is on it disables and sets screen dim, second press re-enables Automatic Brightness.
Also available in Android Market and at the web link in dipeshb's post (as a 'Juniour Member' I can't post links)
Downloaded from the market and it works great. Thanks mate.

Dark screen on auto brightness

I have the auto brightness and with +5 on my Tab 3 8.0", but the screen is so dark i have to input brightness manually...
Is this supposed to be this way?
me too. hopefully we hear something soon
my 315 does it too.... I find that it just takes a bit of time for the light sensor to adjust. Sometimes, I tip the tab towards the nearest light and then it will 'auto' brightnen up, then it's good to go. Just have to wait it out, or go to manual when you have to.TIP.... when in manual... if you just want a little more brightness... dont 'slide' your finger... rather..'roll your finger' tip to the side.. You'll get finer adjustments that way..
good luck
My SGT3 10.1 is also like that. If the room is somewhat dark, so is the tab. But like mentioned above, if the room lightens up, so does the tab. LOL I don't believe there is an issue, just the nature of the beast. Because I think the tab is too dark I take auto brightness off and just leave it where I feel comfortable.
As with the others above, my T310 8" suffers from the auto brightness being way too dark therefore making it unusable, I'd hoped that the upgrade to KitKat would fix this, but it didn't, it's still useless.
I've tried a few 3rd party apps that can auto control the brightness and several of them work well, the easiest one to use seems to be YAAB (Yet Another Auto Brightness), it's stable and very quick to setup. The only downside I've found to this one is that the adjustable brightness slide function in video players (you slide your finger up and down on the left hand side of the screen) no longer works when YAAW is set to auto, but it is no big deal to turn YAAW off and make manual adjustments if you are going to watch lot's of video on the device.
*Sorry not to be able to give a direct link to the app on the playstore, I've not made enough posts to be allowed to do this yet

Sound profile changing by its own and other weird things...

Hi folks!
My OPO is with OxygenOS and I experience 2 strange things since I am in 5.0 (was the same when OTA brings me CM12):
My sound profile change randomly: when I put the OPO in "None" mode before going to bed, most of the time when I wake up it is in "Priority" mode or even in "Always" mode... It also happens sometimes in the day... which can be quite annoying when you think your phone is silent and begin to ring loudly at work for instance... or when you want to sleep and then a notification arrives at 2.00 am...
The other thing is linked to the app "Night Clock" that I use. I activate the app before going to bed with a nice soft red display of the time and at random hours, every night, the app is closed and I have in front of me a bright screen making the bedroom looks like night club... (at least from a luminosity point of view... especially for my wife... )
It is as if something was "playing" with my phone settings/notifications...
So, is it a known issue (haven't seen any thread on that, so i dont think so...) and do you have some sort of brilliant ideas to get back those 2 pesky points to normal?
Thanks a lot in advance!

[APP][2.3+] Auto Brightness - app for phones without light sensor

Hey everyone,
I would like to present you app that I created to automatically adjust screen brightness. Tested on LG K8, Android 6.0. App is using front camera to determine lighting in smartphone environment. I created it because I recently changed my phone and as it turned out this one does not have light sensor, and that was cumbersome for me (day or so after using phone I faced situation when I was outside, it was very sunny and brightness was set to like 10%. It was impossible to unlock phone because I couldn't see anything on screen even if I tried to cover phone screen from that light, so phone was totally unusable!). I didn't find this kind of app on Google Play so that's why we have this thread.
FEATURES:
- automatically adjusts screen brightness
- automatically turn on device boot
- 5 frequency options
HOW TO USE:
1. Download.
1.1. [6.0+] Give permissions.
2. Choose one of available options (I recommend using medium refresh rate).
MORE INFORMATIONS:
Of course app will be improved. I want to add notification with brightness adjust bar, and improve algorithm that is determining what brightness level will be set.
FREE DOWNLOAD:
App in attachement.

Great idea... However on my k8 its a bit confused... i tried it in the office during daylight, it was quite dark instead of bright and when i covered the front camera its become bright... maybe you could put some options there to manually adjust intesity levels related to the picture brightness?
Good idea

[Request] Module/ switch to keep Always on display dimm or bright all time

For example if i'm at home or outdoor the AOD keeps low brightness all the time. I think the bright mode is too bright. At least for me. I have seen some other users asking for this too.
Even now, when i'm siting and writing this post the AOD randomly turns on brightness, after a minute turns off, and back on again There's no light change in my room. I have updated to the latest version. Some time ago I saw this feature in rom, but can't remember witch one. Back then developer said it's kernel related feature.
Just throwing some ideas but would be cool if there were an option to only turn on AOD when there is a notification.
