No VOLTE Android 11 - Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) Questions & Ans

I have tried 3 different roms & one MIUI on Android 11 and have no VOLTE.
On android 10 I it worked when I was on EvoX & MIUI it worked out of the box.
My carrier is Telstra. - Apparently other Australian carriers have it volte on 11.
Has anyone else had this issue? I have tried to use some props to enable it but no joy.

I'm using the Xiaomi.eu Weekly - and have VoLTE and VoWiFi working after using the disable carrier check codes on Boost (Telstra). I had been using the Indonesian ROM on Android 10 and it worked really well, but when the update to Android 11 came out - I updated and experienced a few issues that I wasn't happy with.
Changed over to Xiaomi.eu Weekly about 2 weeks ago and quite happy with the phone again. I must say though that I see VoLTE working less often than it did before, if that makes sense... sometimes I need to reboot to get it working again etc. Very happy that VoWiFi is working though, as Telstra reception is horrible where I'm living...

i had this p[roblem but i solved flasing an europe version instead global but that doesnt apply to u coz u arent in europ. try to talk with call center from ur network for reseting volte and vowifi and try again other version roms, miui, aosp, evriting...if dont work, sell ur fon

Same here!
After disabling VoLTE carrier check on Mi Note 10, VoLTE was working fine on Android 10 with Boost (Telstra). Updated to 12.1.2.0 with Android 11 and VoLTE disappeared for Telstra, but VoLTE is still on with Android 11 and Vodafone SIM.
I had to unlock my bootloader with Mi Unlock (wait 10 days) and downgrade to Android 10 Global ROM to get VoLTE to work again.

My bootloader is unlocked already - I'm going flash Crdroid a10 Rom - I've been trying to get the phone in diag mode with the phone to checkout the NV items with EFS explorer in QPST configuration - I might return to stock to see if it will work there because it's not working on AOSP.
I want to compare android 10 vs android 11
Mi 10 & Mi10 pro are also having the same issue with VoLTE using Telstra on A11.

What happened with the Indo firmware on a11?
So Volte works sometimes and other times not? Please explain your findings?
Perhaps I might try the eu Roms and see if they work with diag mode.

If you guys try to get into diag mode - perhaps we can put our heads together to figure it out.
diag mode / QPST functionality??
I have been trying to get my POCO F2 into diag mode so I can use it with QPST. Has anyone tried to do this and was successful? I'm currently on AOSP so I'm not entirely sure if you have to be on stock for this to work. I google searched not...

Sorry, it was working on an older weekly - but I lost both VoLTE and VoWiFi last week when I updated... and I couldn't get the very latest weekly to install at all this time around... but that's another issue entirely.
I'm considering going back to Android 10 Indonesian ROM... things were much simpler then! And everything worked...

I flashed crdriod Android 10 and have volte again.

I ended up using Xiaomi.eu 12.0.8 - which I read was the last version of Android 10. Works fine.
Hope they fix up the VoLTE sometime for the Android 11+ versions for Telstra network users, like me...

Firmware Issue VOLTE Android 11 - ims_user_agent
Since Android 11 - VOLTE fails to work my carrier (Telstra AU) which worked perfectly on AOSP and MIUI with codes. These below setprop commands require root. And require these drivers or the qualcomm one atleast...

The Telstra mbn is fine, it's a bug in the firmware with ims_user_agent.

Mi Mix3 VoWifi

Hi All,
Just wanted to check and see how is VoWifi (or wifi calling) working for you guys. I’m in Australia and has an Optus and Telstra sim in my mix 3. Phone is running the latest Xiaomi.eu rom.
I’ve search around google in general and found that to get VoWifi to work there is a need to swap the carrier profile on the Qualcomm chip which I’ve done. I have done did the *#*#VoWIFI*#*# code to disable carrier check. However I’m not able to get wifi calling working at all.
Thought I check in here and see if any of you have better luck and if there are any tricks that I’ve missed and needed to try.
Thanks
Hey guys, I just want to know that Mi Mix 3 support vowifi or not ? Or my carrier have to support that ?
I am confused
VoWifi works when on latest custom roms.

Which one does work? I could not find any confirmed VoWiFi for Mi Mix 3 yet.
Can't remember what rom it was but I have seen it somewhere.
VoWifi ("Anrufe über WLAN tätigen") is working fine for me - Vodafone Germany, Stock Global ROM. Also disabled the carrier check.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am from Germany as well and going with WinSim and it is not working. May I ask for the exact contract you got it running with?
I´m using Vodafone Red XS

Do you have mix 3 or mix 2 ? I am wondering that I have vowifi enable button on same setup page but I don't have volte enable button. Volte already enabled. My mix3 running with android 10 miui 11.0.3.0.
I found my answer Mix 3 support vowifi. But my carrier doesn't support for mix3 vowifi..
Unfortunately it is not that easy with the Mix 3. I have a simcard with working VoWifi in a Redmi Note 8 but with the Mix 3 VoWifi with the same simcard is not working. So it does not relate to the provider only for whatever reason.
Give this guide a try. Works fine for me on K-Classic (O2 Telefonica Germany) on the latest stable MIUI EU ROM. Just make sure to switch to "prefer WiFi" suboption after disabling carrier check and enabling VoWiFi. I also had to enable the profile twice on sub0 for some reason...
edit: seems that's the guide you followed even though you didn't explicitly mentioned it? You should test that your phone does not default to another profile as mentioned here
Appreciate your reply. I found a way to change the profiles without root because I did not want to root the phone. Heard many negative side effects like Google pay no longer working and Android Auto can stop working. I need both.
But with an app call shortcut maker in combination with mbnloader I was able to switch profiles. I stopped testing after a while and gave up. I went for another provider now and will see if it turns out to work with the new one. If someone got the same problem, here the mbnloader:
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...FjAAegQIBBAC&usg=AOvVaw1dWx3npHTnHOpt9a3WkMjo
After installing "shortcut maker" by android_rk from play store and the APK above, start the shortcut maker and go for activities - modem - mbnloader to select another profile.

Three UK. Sort of working on global 9, same on xiaomi.EU 10 rom. Every few days I have to turn it off and on again to connect, but once done works flawlessly for another few days. Had to use the *# code to disable carrier check, as Three UK doesn't officially support it on most phones.

Is it possible to de-root the phone afterwards? And would you mind helping me by pointing me to the right direction for preparing my phone for this guide? I am a beginner and I find it hard to find the easiest way to root my Mi Mix 3.

AFAIK you have to unlock your bootloader to root, there is no exploit.
You'll have to get the mi unlock tool and probably wait 48 hours to unlock the bootloader, then flash twrp followed by flashing magisk from within twrp. Just look in the device forums for guides.
You can de-root afterwards, but I doubt locking the bootloader will work, as entries have been tampered with. Google pay/some banking apps might refuse to work after that, btw. There is a patch to gpay though.

About Widevine profiles and Global/CN versions of 5G model

Hi, I'm looking for a new phone and I've been searching for one that supports root (Magisk, unlocked bootloader) while keeping Widevine L1 .
I've read the Xiaomi 10 Pro can do that, but I have a few questions:
1. Does this happens only with the chinese version, or with the global version as well?
2. Does this work on the Mi 10 Pro 5G?
3. Does this work with any ROM, or xiaomi.eu only?
4. A little off-topic here, any other (non xiaomi) phone that can achieve this?
Thanks!
I have ch rom with magisk and I have widevine 1

both china and global have L1, but be careful if you play around with things like persist partition you may break it. there are some people on xiaomi eu forum that managed to do that
I guess installing only xiaomi.eu ROM will do no harm hehe.

nope eu is awesome
just don't forget to "format data" (not factory reset or wipe) the first time you install twrp before flashing eu or it won't boot. there is also a stable eu miui 12 version available for mi 10 pro.
And about L1, is it possible to keep it with root on any ROM, or only xiaomi.eu ones?

I don't use 5G myself the option for it is in the settings (enable 5G and prefer 5G) and I cannot find anyone complaining on eu forums about mi 10. All I could find is a couple of people saying it doesn't work on K30 and an old post saying the bug is fixed in January for mi 9 pro. if it's broken on eu at least no one cared enough to make a bug report for it.

Whats the best rom to get tmobile 5g working? It works for me on the china rom, but EU and global it's a no go for some reason
It's weird that eu rom breaks your 5G, as it is based on the china ROM if I'm not mistaken. Try and post on their forums, maybe is a carrier specific issue?
5G works for me on eu rom but just on sim2. You have to buy sim tray with 2 sim slots and put your card in sim2 slot.

Implementing volte in custom rom, if device hardware supports volte?

So, my devices "stock firmware" supports VoLTE (android 6). Most of the ROMs that i have seen for my device (android 7.1 based) dosen't support VoLTE. After some digging in the internet, i found out that IMS is VoLTE and VoWIFI. So i copy-pasted the apks that have "IMS" in front of them ,from my stock firmware to custom rom, doubled-checked the permissions, and rebooted my phone. VoLTE didn't work. The secret code says "VoLTE Provisioned". Am i missing something? Or am i completely wrong about this thing? The manufacturer is samsung, if that helps in a way.
it is just that volte is not supported in stock android. if you are using lineage os 14.1 then volte will break.
thank fully if ril is working in your port rom then just register play service id from playstore to google android device certification. and thus ril and volte will start working.
Thanks for the reply!
So by ril, you mean libril, right?
So if i copy libril from my stock firnware to the custom rom, will it work?

But the post you have mentioned is for jio operator.

no, i mean if your phone is volte regard less of it has jio sim or not. the method works.

Indonesia ROM vs EEA ROM

I have read that the indonesia version of the ROM for Poco F2 Pro is more stable than the EEA one.
I also read that the indonesia version has the call recorder.
Are there any other differences? Network management type?
Thanks.

Will I lose anything by going from EEA to Indonesian ROM? Like bands or languages or anything?
I'm in a process of unlocking the bootloader and downgrading from Android 11 to android 10 and I'm wondering which ROM is the best. I think a call recorder is a nice feature to have. I had it in my Zenfone 6.

The main reasons why I'm going back to Android Q are:
the full screen not working in A11 (status bar always visible),
phone not streaming audio to the car head (stopped working after upgrade to A11)
and annoying animation when minimizing an app and going to the home screen (can't be switched off)
Are these bugs fixed in the eu ROM?

O2 Germany - VoWifi

Hi guys,
still in love with my mix2s but I need vowifi for reachability.
Does anyone have experience with new ROM and ability to use vowifi ? I tried Experience, LOS and Evolution. vowifi is enabled, but doesn´t work. SIM is ok, works with vowifi in an iphone.
Do I need to do an firmware upgrade? Any hints or suggestions?
thx in advance

See here what I did (also on O2 DE), - it's for LOS 17.1 but applies more or less to 18.1 and probably other Android 11-based ROMs. With LOS 18.1 it seemed to be even more fiddly than before, I had to try several sys.usb.config options before being able to write to vendor. But somehow it worked in the end.
IUC, it's basically an error in Xiaomi's firmware that auto-selects wrong settings for O2 DE - forcing it to use the settings for DT Greece seems to do the trick. There are lots of threads about it, the problem seems to be ROM-independent and concerns (or has concerned?) MIUI as well.
Viel Erfolg!
