Hi everyone
I have Samsung A90 north korean version and live in Dubai. The phone is perfectly fine, the only problem is that my keyboard shows korean letters randomly although I removed the korean language from the keyboard settings. There are 2 to 3 app preinstalled in korean language which cannot be uninstalled at all.
My question: is it possible to install a UK or Global firmware in this version without damaging the phone and if so, please explain to me in details how and if possible share with me links where I can obtain its firmware.
I appreciate your assistance in this regard.
Backup data and delete google account first

I am thinking of importing one of these phones to Europe from China. I've read the reviews and seen the videos and I am sold. The only thing holding me back is that this is a phone created for the Chinese market and I live in Europe.
Will I be able to change the language to English and remove the Chinese language from the interface. The videos I've seen show the device using the English language but there are still a lot of UI elements in Chinese (i.e. a video showed someone writing a message using an English keyboard but even that had some Chinese buttons).
Another video showed the installation of Google Play Store (as it does not come preinstalled) and even the Google apps had Chinese text written next to the English name of the app.
I'm fine with all Chinese text in Xiaomi apps like their own app store (as I will not use those apps) but I would like the rest of the phone be entirely in English.
Thank you.

There is a Global ROM that is stripped from chinese elements. Just look it up in en.miui.com

The OS default has English as an option. But bear in mind, the phone is designed for Mainland China market,so some software, features you will not be able to use it else where. Surely ,can flash with your own ROM. It is a great phone with competitive price.

How much did you pay for it?
Is it announced a UK release date in UK?

I ended up paying 385 Euro for the 64GB version. This price includes DHL shipping cost to have the phone shipped to Cyprus. I also expect to pay import charges when I receive it.
I don't think they announced any releases outside of China. From what I remember reading online there might be an international version of the phone coming out during Christmas.
The retailer price for MI4 64GB is about 320Euro then you can work out how much the shipping cost would be.

Yeah, don't worry about the language. Just use the multi language ROM from miuiandroid.com. Comes pre loaded with Google play services, Chinese apps are removed, and is pre-rooted. It is also updated weekly with the official MIUI ROM.

Uninstall Chinese
1. First download the developer rom from en.miui.com/download-240.html
2. Flash the rom as per the flashing instructions provided.
3. Install the application from Play store - Unininstall
4. Provide root permission to this application
5. Uninstall chinese apps especially - Google pinyin input

Download latest cancro zip from xiaomi.eu and follow "2. Flash MIUI ROM in Recovery" guide.
Is the ROM available at http://en.miui.com/thread-51839-1-1.html is for the 4G-LTE one?

Hi everybody
I got me a Mate 7 Version MT7-UL00 in Shanghai.
Everything fine so far (LTE works in Switzerland, Play Store installed etc.).
Now I still have some Chinese Apps I cannot change to German or English. Most of them I do not need (for example the Huawei Wallet). The App Center (to administrate all the apps on my phone) would be nice to have in English or German.
Is there a chance to get this changed or to download an other version?
Thx for the help!

Hi, I'm also in Switzerland and I had the same problems than you. I tried in vain to change the language of many apps so finally I just rooted it, installed Titanium Backup and I was able to get rid of all that bloatware. Since you have the Play Store you don't need the App Center anymore, do you?
The only things remaining are the chineses sayings on the lock screen. But you can change it as well.

Hi Inspecteur Gadget...
So I am not the only one in Switzerland with a Mate 7 from China
I had on my LG G3 an App Center where I could manage all the apps. Not for Downloading new apps.... but for things like turning off the notification etc. This I can do also here with the App Center. But there is still a lot of Chinese in there. No big deal but it looks just not the way I like it
Enjoy your phone!

Hi Guys, Im here in vancouver, Canada....just got one but about to root it....is there any good ROMS for it....because unfortunetely the EMUI sucks specially with all the bloatware.....also how do I add my google contacts to work,....
I'm in Australia and I have the Mate 2
I'm having this issue, but a lot of trouble rooting it... Help!
Hi all.
I have just bought a Gear S3 in India. Everything works perfectly apart from the one thing that the galaxy apps store is partially in Hindi.
I have a Oneplus 3. I have reinstalled all the apps 3 times but no change. I have also tried to use a different samsung account but that doesn't work either.
I have also contacted the samsung service center and also called the support center but they are also clueless. Is there any way to change it to english completely?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
I had this issue in Vietnam. Unfortunately it seems that the Galaxy App Store sets its language based on the location of your Sim Card. When I came back to Australia and registered on an Australian network, it fixed itself and is in English.
Interestingly, when roaming in Singapore, the language remained Vietnamese, so I think you can't be roaming for it to get the language to change.
I have the same issue with my LG G3.
Unable to change the language from Hindi. Please reply if you have found an option to change the language to English.

I have talked to their customer care numerous times as well as visited their smart cafes but they still appear to be clueless about this. Interestingly this problem does not occur when connected to samsung phones so that's why I assume it is not a high priority for them.
You can google "market enabler", install it and change SIM region to something like [us] T-Mobile
When try to open Apps Store again.
xda link for enabler
Is it support hindi sms
Hey guys, so I picked up a China phone and I can't download google play store onto it for some reason. I want to change the system to more of a regular North America Google version like a stock samsung android phone. The phone is Qiku 360 N5S model number 1607-A01. Theres a bunch of Chinese apps and stuff that is useless to me since I can't read it. Thank you in advance for the help guys!
Hi community,
I am too afraid of bricking my phone for googlefier, but I came up with a solution that works at least okayish for me: The ourplay app.
I had to not only set my phone to chinese but I also ended up buying a chinese simcard so I could change my language back to english, but it does work okay. A bit of Google translating is required, and it won't always make sense, but it works alright.
For my fellow Pokemon Go Players: No, it doesn't work for me. I think buying VIP might make it work but my Google Translate's Chinese to English translation is a bit messy. --> If anyone got Pokemon Go to work in Ourplay, please share your secret with me!
I would love to discuss the Ourplay solution with you guys on here.
Hello! Have you tried Googlefier? I'm on .182 firmware and installed it without a problem, it even upgrades google play services from the play store itself. Just skip the part that reminds you the incompatibility with software and see what happens. Otherwise try Aurora Store. Pokemon Go uses a lot the GMS framework and cores app so if you can't install completely the GMS i think it can't function correctly. Sorry for my bad english, i hope this can be useful.
I tried googlefier, but it just didnt work for me. How many tries did it take you to get it to work? Did you try it on a P40?
Yes i've an ANA-NX9 device. At the First try It installed and works perfectly from that day, in android auto works the voice match too! Is your device european? I've bought the device from eBay and It Is a brand TIM, but can't see any TIM app or custom logo in It.
