Hi all,
Galaxy Grand I9082 was updated with 4.2.2 official update and After the successful upgrade of the OS, It's not allowing to enable unknown sources in Security tab to install apps.
Error: Installation of unknown applications is not allowed by device administrator.
Is your device carrier locked?
Have you tried doing a factory reset?

Since the issue occurred after an update, the most obvious solution is to do a factory reset. Backup your stuff, cross your fingers and do a full wipe. :good:

Just installed that update that came out yesterday. I know many factory reset after updates. Do you reset after a security update too?
Thanks

You should not need to factory reset after a security update.

Hello i've got kind of an issue with my Honor 8 FRD L09: I was recently using Lineage OS 14.1 without any issue. But I decided to go back to EMUI so I used dload method to install B101 update. Everything was ok and then from settings I installed B140. But right now it doesn't provide me any update from settings. I want to reach the last EMUI with Android 6.0
Does anybody knows how to install these updates from settings ?

Try factory reset. I went through the same thing as you and it solved.
When you do the B394 or whatever is the latest, do the reset again, just to clean old trash from previous versions.

Settings>Advanced settings>Backup & reset>Factory data reset.
You don't need to setup any google, Huawei or whatever account to get the update. I do a factory reset also after the last update. It prevents under performance and battery drain issues. That's why I always leave the accounts to the very end, after doing all updates.

I'm on android 10 and I don't have any problems with any apps. If you go back to pie, you will have all your data erased. Why don't you try a factory reset on 10 and see if you still have any problems with apps. You lose your data but at least you have upgraded.

I updated from 9 to 10 (factory resetting immediately upon update) and find no issues with the ROM yet...yes, the dark mode doesn't work on 9/10 apps but that's normal as the software is very new. It will take sometime before the apps get update to meet the native settings on Android. Once you factory reset, don't restore app data. It's best to start fresh when upgrading Android...
To answer your question is to flash the 9.5.11 update via TWRP. Get the update from OnePlus website support download. Again, this method will wipe every data you have.

There is no way preserving GMS on your phone after factory reset.
