Gboard will not delete certain learned words and names - General Questions and Answers

I type in Arabic (phonetically though) and have certain phrases and names that I tried to delete by:
1- Deleting all learned words in advanced settings
2- Deleting app cache and data
3- Uninstalling the app
The only way to get rid of them is by manually removing them and deleting them individually. However the moment I download the keyboard again or on another device all the words show up again. It is becoming frustrating because I send many emails for work from my phone and it affects my typing flow.
Is there are there any way I could potentially just remove all gboard data that is associated to my Google account from somewhere to have the words learned completely reset?
Or at least to have the words I manually remove remain removed when installing the keyboard on another device

i think if i remember correctly there's a setting on google keyboard that would not allow it to "learn" how you type and suggest words
edit:: goto google keyboard setting > text correction > then disable text suggestion and contact suggestion or you can overall just disable suggestion strip

Blurred Google Contact Pics - Fix

I have a temporary fix for the blurred contact pics issue troubling an assorted flavor of ROMS. This is a temporary but effective fix until Goggle/HTC resolve the issue, if they ever do.
STEP 1: Sync your phone with Google either as is or after a fresh ROM install. Make sure u have downloaded all of your contacts that you need, from the Google servers, to your phone.
STEP 2: Erase all of your contact pics (which should be blurry). Afterwhich make sure u sync with Google again, so that all the pics are erased off of the server as-well & not just the phone alone.
NOTE: In Step 2 we are erasing contact pics ONLY! not the contacts themselves!
STEP 3: Under "Settings" "Data Synchronization" then "Google" uncheck the syncing of Contacts.
STEP 4: Now add your contact pics again
DONE! ENJOY!
PROS:
(1) You now have nice clean & crisp contact pics the way they were meant to be.
(2) Your Gmail & Calendars will still Sync
(3) Your Google contacts will not delete from the google side & you will have them for as long as you don't delete them via PC.
Cons: Contacts added to your phone anytime after this process will not sync with google & will remain on your phone only. Contacts added after this process will be lost after reflash, unless one later adds the contacts manually to Google via PC and web interface, which is easy
I was working on this for long time.
So. To really fix this (not by disabling synchronization of contacts) one must do TWO things:
Step 1. Disable picture compression via proxy from internet provider. Many providers are doing this. Orange and T-Mobile for example. This is killing quality of pictures. In Orange You can ask to enable special APN which is not using proxy (it is called 'VPN' and You must write it instead of default 'internet' APN).
Step 1 improves callers pictures, but not as much as it should be.
Step 2. Ask Google to send pictures from their server properly. Probably someone need to kill somebody and maybe then they will do this...
Or maybe we need special petition ??

Click to collapse
This time its not an issue with the providers. Its a know problem related to google and how they are compressing, using thumbnails, then syncing
BUMP!

[Q] ISO: App to designate with which google account other apps should interact

Hello XDA community, I'm looking for an app or other way to to specify with which google account on my phone other apps should interact. I find it strange that we can set up several google accounts on a single phone but then have no way to tell programs which to use ( on a case-by-case basis or even as a default).
The only app I've encountered that does support this functionality is Shawn Q.'s Quick App Tracker (search on market - I don't have enough posts to include an external link). In its preferences there is a field "Google Account" with a dropdown menu that self-populates with the google accounts set up on the phone - you choose one, and then the first time you use the program and it attempts to connect to the market it prompts you with an access request you can allow or deny.
So the functionality exists, but it is clearly not something frequently included with apps that request access via a google account to Android services. Does anyone know of an app or even way to manually control this?
thanks

Looking for better contact management/deletion - suggestions?

Hi,
I am looking for a simple way to manage the contacts on my Lineage 15 (Oreo) phone. Adding contacts is easy enough, but when I want to delete something, the mess starts. Trying to delete via the stock contacts app gets me messages of read-only entries and hide-only options. This sucks. I've read about people having to log in somewhere online to try and take control again of their run-away contact data. Seriously? I don't even have a gmail account, and my phone doesn't run any Google apps either. Still, it seems like I am not allowed to treat local data in a local manner.
I guess what I'm looking for is a way to delete a single contact in a single step. I don't want to have to delete three or four times, regular contacts, Whatsapp, Telegram etc. - if I entered it in one step, I want to delete it in one step. Isn't there an app for this? Or alternatively, is there an alternative contact app that I can use instead of the stock contact app and that will give me actual control over MY contacts on MY phone?
Thanks!

Can't remove google search history

Hi
On my Android phone I am trying to delete all of my google search history.
- I've done it in chrome and deleted everything possible
- I've gone into settings, then chrome and deleted everything from there.
Then when i open chrome everything is gone as i want it.
However when i sign into my account some of my search history returns so when i start typing in the address bar, old history is shown.
To confuse matter further i've gone into my google account using a PC and viewed the 'my activity' section, when i search for the entries showing up on the phone none are shown. Also within my account i have tried deleting all search data
Does anyone know how on earth i can delete the search/browsing history properly from my account??
You've deleted your browsing history not your autofill suggestions. So if you type "Planes Trains and Automobiles" into your search bar you'll get a result, then you click on the link that takes you to facts about the movie. When you delete your search history the page with facts about the movie is gone but where you entered PT&A into the search bar remains. So if you begin to type PL... it will still have that suggestion in there as something you searched once before. You have to delete your Autofill history. Click the Chrome toolbar and select Settings>Show Advanced settings>Passwords and forms>Manage Autofill. Here you'll be able to selectively delete entries or all entries.

This site can’t ask for your permission

When some site asks for permission (i.e. location), I'm always getting this error: "This site can't ask for your permissions. Close any bubbles or overlays from other apps. Then try again." If the "bubbles" means chat bubbles, I don't use them. And which overlays should I close? All of them? I'm using Vivaldi or Chrome on MIUI 12.2.5.0 EU.
The only way I could figure out how to allow location or whatever site setting permission was to hit block permission.Click "block" instead of "allow". Then go to site settings, click on whatever permission you need, and you'll see the site is now in the "blocked" list. Just click on it and change it to allowed, and it should work.
It's tedious but it's the only fix or work around that I could figure out for when I need to allow permissions for a site without having to remove the 'overlay' or 'always on top' or 'display over other apps' permission for every one of the 20+ apps that use it, especially because some of the apps that use the permission are very helpful like bubbles for Google messages, chat heads on messenger, edge board, caller id & spam blockers, and phone apps. It's really bull**** that google or any of the other browsers hadn't figured out a workaround for this since it's been doing this forever or for as long as I can remember and it's super stupid because every other app can ****ing work fine without having to disable all the other overlays. Hope this helps somebody.
