Hi there,
long story short: my girlfriend broke her phone (Google Pixel, first Generation) and has unbackuped super important stuff on it.
The screen is totally shattered and does neither display nor accept any kind of input but it seems to be working apart from that, you can hear the alarm in the morning for example and the fingerprint unlock gives force feedback. If I connect it to the computer it's reconized as Google Pixel but I can't access the data as USB-Debugging is disabled and I can't change the USB-Mode. I managed to boot into fastboot and the decive shows up with the "fastboot devices" command.
I already tried to get my desktop PC's screen connected to the phone with a DisplayLink connector-box but the display gives a "no input signal".
Maybe anyone of you has any idea what else I could try.
Thanks in advancve.

Short of replacing the screen, I can't think of anything.

OK, so here's the issue. I have an HTC Desire C. It's my girlfriends so I don't know the OS version. I replaced the Touch Digitizer because it was shattered (it did respond to touches though). Now that its replaced it seems to respond to touches but not correctly. I can't get it to swipe the lock screen out of the way. It's as if it is not calibrated correctly. So I'm stuck on the lock screen.
I want to run ADB so I can figure out if its registering touch events correctly, and also try and send them over ADB. But, being my girlfriends phone, she never enabled "USB Debugging". When I hook the phone to the computer, I don't see it showing up as a unknown device in windows Device manager (VISTA). I know it works, cause I tried it with my Nexus S and that shows up. I know the steps are first find it in device manager then manually select the driver as the ADB interface, I've had this working on my Nexus S. But the issue is that it doesn't show up at all in Device manager, and I assume its because USB debugging is off. I tried turning off USB debugging on my Nexus S, hooked it to my computer, and it doesn't show up either. So it seems like that is the issue.
I tried to boot into recovery (power button + volume down), then went into fastboot, connected the phone to the comp again, but it still does not show up.
Below are some of the other things I have tried, but they still brought me no luck:
I have tried installing HTC sync so I get the HTC drivers on my computer, but it doesn't even show up in HTC's software (In fact, it does not show up as a storage device either, I assume cause you have to accept the notification on the phone, but I can't use the phones UI at all). I tried moving the HTC drivers into c:\windows\system32 and it still does not show up. I then tried rebooting the phone and my computer. Still does not show up. It seems like windows isn't even reading the phone as a USB device. Tried swapping USB cables (both work with my nexus s), and still nothing. Is there something I am missing?
Any help would be much appreciated, this is driving me crazy.
Also, after replacing the digitizer, if I first boot into the phone and then hit the power button, I don't get the content window that allows you to choose "reboot", "shutdown", etc. The only thing I can do is hold it for 15 seconds and the thing turns off. I'm hoping this is because I never passed the lock screen for the first time. I'm hoping this is not an indicator that I screwed something up when I opened the phone. I've had my Nexus S open plenty of times.

Try that.

Yea let us know if it works

I can't get the phone to show up when I type "fastboot devices" or "adb devices". I have tried this from the lock screen, from the bootloader, from the bootloader and in fastboot mode. That is my critical problem now. Cable is actual data cable, and I'm using USB port on back of a desktop computer. Is there anything else that could be causing the phone to not be recognized?
Nexus 5 running 5.1 stock
I had recently and sadly had an accident with my phone where the screen is completely useless. Shattered is a harsh word, but it's sitting in that condition. It does however still turn on. There are parts of the screen that display, but for some odd reason, its completely mirrored and upside down.
I have Android tools and drivers installed. And knowing something like this might happen, I had USB debugging enabled. BUT, for even stranger reasons, I'm guessing it's disabled because through cmd on platform-tools, it says it's unauthorized. Though the little window of display my phone pushes, I'm guessing I'm getting a dialog asking for USB debugging to be enabled. I'm not too sure how I got to this window, but it randomly appears on restarts of the device, and half the time, it just restarts normally like any restart.
I was wondering if there was a way I can push a command line using cmd on my PC to accept or continue from the dialog box that I literally can't see.
I looked far and wide on Google and this beloved website, but am having a hard time finding a solution.
The device is bootload unlocked, running stock on Lollipop.
I do not know if rooting and installing TWP will affect my data, as it is the only thing I really don't want to lose. I wish to keep stock as I am completely fine with it and I have tried custom Roms, but I still wish to continue using stock.
I'm not too familiar with some words used in explanations on this site, so please respond as if I'm 7 years old :silly:
My initial goal was to (while having usb debug enabled) fastboot (i think i'm using the right term) Mobizen, then mirror the screen on my pc, and control the device to upload everything to my cloud storage.

Good luck!
Dropped my op6 flat on its face the other day:crying::crying::crying:
Anyways.. I'm trying to get the data off of it before i attempt the feat of replacing the screen. Like the title says, the digitizer is good, l can unlock it by remembering the screen lock, but I fumbled all yesterday trying to cast my screen. I had slivers of screen I could see there, just couldn't get it to send. No usb debugging and I obviously didn't turn usb mode to file share. Please help if you can, thanks.
If you have TWRP installed, reboot to recovery and just connect your phone to your PC via USB - MTP should be active by default. Inputting the decryption code if you can't see much of what you're doing can be a problem, though.
If you don't have TWRP installed however, you can try using scrcpy (just search for it on Google and you should find its GitHub repo with instructions). It uses adb to run, meaning it requires usb debugging to be on, but the good thing is, as long as your phone is unlocked (not on lockscreen), you should receive a prompt asking to enable debugging just by running the scrcpy executable. Since said prompt is always in the center of the screen (screenshot attached), and you only need to click 2 separate things on there (always allow checkbox & the allow button) to get things going, you should be set fairly quickly. Hope this helps!
Thanks for your reply, this did work and it was very simple.

Great! Glad it worked for you
Hello, I just broke the screen of my OnePlus8t Verizon network unlocked phone. The computer I previously linked 8t with also has a broken screen. ... Rains it ..... My Phoe has some important information in docs and screenshots I need to get. I just turned off ADB debugging thinking "Oh I don't need that just yet" the very morning I broke the LCD. Good news, I can still answer it. I already have adb.exe except in ADB shell it shows as unauthorized. I need those files like yesterday. I have an otg/ADB flash drive, but I still can not connect to retrieve files. I can see my phone when I directly connect to comp without the flash drive, however, I can not access it. I have tried to put the phone into recovery, but I have no way to enter the pin as I have tried to guess where it is. How can I receive the data I need from my phone?
Thank You.
P.S. I have little knowledge and only learn what I need to know for whatever project, in other words, I can not code and I barely speak dos.
Is the touch screen still working then?
If it's showing "unauthorized" you can try to plug it into your desktop and then hit the "authorize" button on the popup that you can't see.
Here is where ok is on a different phone. It's somewhere near there on yours.

I have tried that. The finger print unlock screen only works ⅔ of the time. I have no way of knowing if it's unlocked. I keep my touch sounds silent. I keep trying to find where it might be. I have tried to slide as if answering a call. Is there a way to force the USB settings for media transfer? Maybe through Google? If any platform knows it's my phone is Google. I can go to the play store and push apps onto it. Unfortunately the two adb drivers I have installed on my Android didnt work.
Oh, actually, you've got it easier! The OnePlus 8t supports HDMI over USB Type C.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/does-one-plus-8t-have-video-out-through-usb-c.4465629/
Buy an adapter and hook up an HDMI monitor/TV.
Or just use a new monitor on the computer that is already authorized.
Is there any other way. Right now it is not with in the budget to afford any extras even with the price tag of $20. I am hoping there is a way within an adb shell to force turn on the adb debugging. I have developer options enabled. I would just rewrite the documents, except some of those items I need include the text messaging history. If I can't force the adb, can I remotely back up the phone? Is there a trustworthy app for that? I do have quick settings installed and if my memory is correct, I believe I have sideline installed even.
Hi to all,
how are you?
It's still a very long time i don't wirte here.
So i was a happy owner of a oneplus 6 from may 2019. I haven't problem and all works so well.
During a trip with fog and rain, the phone was wet and full of humidity, i had to use it during the rain 2 times to find the way to come back. When i was in home the display never respond. I tried to dry with a hairdryer but i won't go. In the meantime i buyeg a motog22 waiting to adjust my oneplus.
I'm using the original oneplus os, with last updates of august
So i remember i enabled the developers mode on my phone and i hoped also usb debugging and otg was enabled to cast the screen with this: https://plugable.com/products/uga-4khdmi (there are also the displaylink driver that tart at trhe phone startup), but i won't activate, don't no why.
Then i decided to try via adb to unblock wifi and other thing and make it usable with otg or thing like this: https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy
When i started abd i got this:
D:\myfolder\platform-tools>adb devices
List of devices attached
phonenumber unauthorized
I read some xda and stackoverflow posts but can't find a solution.
To authorize it i tried to delete adbkey inside .adroid folder, kill and start server but nothign working also cause the phone want an authorization that i can't give cause i can't see my display even if the display vibration is working and maybe also the touch.
Then i tried this:
adb reboot recovery
error: device unauthorized.
This adb server's $ADB_VENDOR_KEYS is not set
Try 'adb kill-server' if that seems wrong.
Otherwise check for a confirmation dialog on your device.
So i tried to restart the phone in boot recovery trying to see if the authoriaztion is enabled by default, but nothing happen.
I just wanted to push the keys to my phone and then using adb to reactivte wifi and something else almost to cast my phone or make a backup of some application (like google auth or microsoft auth...)
Are there an extreme solution or i have to wait the display and change it? I know this is the best solution but without this phone i have some activities...bloked It's incredible!
Thnks in advance for you help!
Bye
