It seems that the Google Installer that actually work was pulled out from HiApp,
Using other installer like v 4.4.2 from Meizu, or v2, the one that circulate a lot wont work on this phone,
So here's the download link for GMS Installer that will install the Play services properly through recovery
https://yadi.sk/d/LqIsfrqs3Kbz2L
Simply install the app, and press the "One Click Install" and let it auto reboot
Tested & Work on latest B136

Hi folks, you can refer to my previous Google Play installation experience for Honor 6x with EMUI4 and EMUI5.
I've just bought the Honor 9 in China and can't get this to work. When I try to install the GMS Installer it tells me "The parser did not find any certificates in the installation package." Googling this phrase made me none the wiser.
It then suggests I get the official version from HiApp, but there is of course no official version. I'm on the STF-AL10 model, build B175, EMUI 5.1, Android 7.0

There has been some progress, but not really. I've managed to install the following:
Google Account Manager
Google Calendar Sync
Google Contacts Sync
Google Play Services
Google Play Store
Google Services Framework
But still when I try to open Play Store it tells me to install core GMS packages I was under the impression that Play Services was the same as GMS?

Yes its the same.
You need to update your play services n play store to latest version first,
Download it from apkmirror
Using a chinese version of the GMSInstaller solved it for me. If you have the same problem ie can't install GMSInstaller with error about missing certificates, or error after installation about missing GMS core despite it being installed, try this version of the GMSInstaller:
https://m.box.com/shared_item/https://app.box.com/s/gpuf526astq1omfrqgy6u77fe1qysjj9
It's the very same file but with a Chinese name for all I can tell. Same size, looks, version number etc. But for some reason the only one my phone would accept.

Hi,
I previously installed google services successfully using GMSinstaller when I first got my Honor 9 in August.
Now it is upgraded to B201 and because it always crashes when it comes to google play, I ran GMSinstaller again which asked me to uninstall every google related apps.
I did so but now it is impossible to install google again
GMS installer will only propose me to uninstall previously installed google apps, then reboot.
I tried several "Google Installer" none of them are working.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks

i have Nova 2s too.
just download the GMS Installer from the link given by thread starter, and then install it, open the app, and then press the install button and let it reboot, and voila!
you can check if there's an app called Google Play Services installed in your apps list.
next step is download this list from APKMirror.com :
- ConfigUpdater
- Data Transfer Tool
- Google Backup Transport
- Google Calendar Sync
- Android Services Library
- Android Shared Library
- Market Feedback Agent
- Google One Time Init
- Google Partnet Setup
- Google Services Framework
- Google Play Store
make sure to download the version which specific for your android version.
install all of that and reboot, and you're device will ready to go!
if i use this gms installer on my chinese honor 9 (STF-AL10), can i update the phone on later date? (ex. for emui / android os / security updates)
will there any problem i should aware of if i update my phone?
Does not work for emui 8. Any other solution?

Hello alL,
I come to bring you good news. I have managed to install google play store and other Google Apps on the Chinese version of the Honor 9 (WITHOUT ROOT).
For anyone wondering, here are the steps.
1 - Download this file to your Honor 9.
2 - Decompress the zip file and install "Google Installer_2.0.apk". Don't touch the other files.
3 - Run this app (the newly installed one with the chinese name) and confirm using the Green button near the bottom.
4 - Confirm all prompts for authorisation, ensuring you select "Trust app" to give it full permissions. This will install the core "Google Play Apps Suite" as a user app, meaning that you will be able to uninstall "Play store" by simply dragging it to the top. See 1st screenshot.
5 - Check if Google Play Store has been installed and is working. If android complains about "Missing GMSs", reboot and try again. If still you have problems, try downloading "GMSInstaller apk" from an internet mirror of your choice.
See attached screenshots for proof that it works!
Great guide! Thanks for sharing. This is a safer way than rebrand, but rebrand will bring you a full Europe/US EMUI. You will not see any left-over Chinese characters.
The only downside is you'll be left with some Chinese letters here and there :/
But, it's easier than rebranding
Is there a lot of Chinese left so that it becomes difficult to use the phone? Or more like a minor nuisance? I'm currently in China and positively drooling at the local retail price but I've no access to a computer for rebranding.
Hi, I tried this procedure, I managed to install all the GApps but when I try to login or add google account the phone freezes for a moment and nothing happens. Same behavior on YT, while on Gmail and Play Store it still says "GMS Installer required". I guess that with a chinese phone you need to flash it anyway or it can't reach google servers. Am I right?

I tried removing all the google stuff (framework, account manager, services, sync) then manually install each of them : still doesn't work.
Does anyone with B201 firmware succeed to install Google ?
Is it possible to downgrade without root/unlock ?

But my fear was confirmed : after restoring from HiSuite Backup, I lost some datas in my apps and also all my notes in the notes app
In the end got Google back, that's the most important !!

Well, it's better than nothing
Hi All,
I was wondering whether its currently possible to downgrade back to EMUI 9? I received my Mate 30 Pro today (Model LIO-AL00), and it came with Android 10 out of the box. It has also applied a bunch of updates and I am now on 10.0.0.135.
I have tried the various guides to side-load Gapps via the backup method. Whilst the Gapps install, I can't open them. LZplay also doesn't want to start. I've tried all sorts of guides (including: https://www.gearbest.com/blog/how-t...ll-google-apps-gms-on-huawei-mate-30-pro-8639) but they all fail.
I also stumbled across the thread that talks about using Virtual Exposed (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-30-pro/how-to/microg-t3977821). I can get Virtual Exposed installed, and the play store installed, but it doesn't open either.
So, I was wondering whether its possible (somehow?) to downgrade back to EMUI 9, so that I can use the LZPLAY method?
Thanks!!

I had seen that post, and I had tried it yesterday without any luck.
This morning I reset the phone and started again. Following the link from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-30-pro/how-to/install-gms-google-play-store-t3992095
I managed to restore the HiSuite backup (only apps and settings)
Installed Google Apps fine
Started LZplay, but then get connection errors (see screenshots)
Do I need to VPN into China for this to work? Because the phone is trying to get to https://api.lzplay.net, which no longer exists.
It also tries to go to http://configdownload.dbankcdn.com/ which is also throwing an error.
Any ideas?

Lzplay is meant to not work. Now close it and install all the Google system apps and play store. Give them all permissions they ask for.

Hi Mate, I have done that, but none of them work. These instructions all follow the same pattern, and I have tried 4x different methods now. None work.
NOTE one thing: I cannot use HiSuite 9.0.3_300 to restore the LZplay backup. I am forced to use 9.1.0_309OVE because of the Android version on my phone. That is the ONLY thing that deviates from the instructions!
This one doesn't work: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ma...all-google-service-huawei-mate30-pro-t3992171

Should this still work with a later version of HiSuite?

OK, I FINALLY managed to get it working. I followed these instructions:
Download and unzip the lzplay package (this contains the most important application data to be restored, please do not confuse with the newly downloaded lzplay package)
2, connect Hisuite (pc Huawei mobile phone assistant) click data recovery
3, find lzplay decompression package, only restore applications and data (only restore assistant application and application data, application data is the most important! application data is the most important! application data is the most important!) does not restore system settings!
4, restart the phone after data recovery
5, then download the corresponding version of the Google package and install (corresponding to the Google package and lzplay link below) Note: Install these Google packages based on all permissions
6. After the installation is complete, open the Google Service Assistant and activate the device manager.
7, restart the phone after activation is complete
8, open the settings drop-down to see if there is a google icon, if there is, then the installation is successful, if not, repeat the installation steps
MOST IMPORTANTLY: Open GMAIL first, register your account, and Google Play should then also start working.
The first couple of times I tried to either add a Gmail account or go directly to the Playstore, which didn't work. Now I opened Gmail, added my address, signed in and it all started working!
Thanks for all your input guys. Much appreciated!!

Note
Please don't just leave us a comment if there are any problems with the instructions! In particular, comments that it works and which mobile phone it works with are essential for us to solve the problem. So please do us and the community a favor!
requirement
To carry out the instructions, you need a USB stick, which you can connect to your Huawei smartphone. You can either use a USB-C OTG adapter with a “normal” USB stick, or you can use a USB-C stick .
USB-C stick or USB-C OTG cable
Connect a normal USB stick with the USB-C OTG cable
Connect USB-C stick
You should have backed up all data on your Huawei smartphone and reset the cell phone to factory settings.
Download the Google Installer package (download on Mega or Google Drive ). You can download the package on Windows or directly on your smartphone. It is only important that the content ends up on the USB stick.
Manual
Step 1 prepare the USB stick
Unzip the Google Installer package. Copy the contents of the package onto a USB-C stick. The "Huawei" and "Google Installation" folders must be on the main memory of the USB stick. Connect the USB stick to the Huawei smartphone.
Step 2 restore backup from USB stick:
Connect your USB stick to your Huawei smartphone and navigate to
Settings / System & Updates / Backup & Restore / Data Backup / External Storage / USB Storage
Select the backup there and tap on "Restore". The password is firlando234.
Step 3: install Google Apps
You will now find the Lzplay app on the homescreen. Open the app and select "activate" and "allow". Now tap the blue button. You do not need to wait now, you can leave the app and return to the home screen.
Open the file manager there and install the first 6 apps from the "Google Installation" folder
(1) Google android.gms.policy sidecar aps.apk
(2) Google Contacts Sync.apk
(3) GMS Core 19.apk
(4) Playstore.apk
(5) Shared Library.apk
(6) GAM_v4.0.3.apk
Step 3: Sign in to the Google account
Next you have to log into your Google account. To do this, go to Settings / Users and Accounts / Add Account / Google and click through the setup process. If you want to add multiple Google accounts, you have to do so now. It is no longer possible to add them later.
Step 4: Install Google Services Framework
Open the file manager again and go to the "Google Installation" folder. Install the app:
(7) Google Services Framework-com.google.android.gsf-29-v10.apk
Install Huawei google playstore 16
Note: From now on there are repeated notifications in the status bar, which inform about the failure of Google Play Protect. This is completely normal and will be resolved further on.
Step 5: Install Google Play Services
Now the Google Play services have to be uninstalled again. To do this, go to Settings / Apps / Apps / Show system processes (activate in the 3-point menu at the top right) / Google Play Services / Uninstall
Now open the file manager again and go to the "Google Installation" folder. Install the file:
(8) GMS Core Mod 1.apk
Problem solving: If your cell phone crashes during the deinstallation (circle turns and nothing happens), simply hold the power button + quiet button pressed at the same time until your cell phone restarts. Then run the uninstallation again.
Step 6: Remove Google Services Framework ID
Install the app on the (10) Device ID_v1.0_apkpure.com.apk from the "Google Install" folder.
Open the "Device ID" app. Click on "Grant Permission" in the "IMEI" field and confirm with "Allow"
Check whether there is an ID number under "Google Service Framework (GFS)". This must now be eliminated.
To do this, go to
Settings / Apps / Apps / Show system processes (activate in the 3-point menu at the top right) / Google Services Framework / Storage
and delete the data and the cache. Now open the Device ID app and check whether the ID number or the entire entry has disappeared. If this is not the case, restart, clear the cache and data of the Google services framework again and check the success again in the app. This step must be repeated until the ID is removed.
Step 7: Get Google Services Framework new ID
Now go to Settings / Apps / Apps / Google Playstore and also delete the data and the cache here.
Now open the Google Playstore. A connection error is now displayed here. Restart your phone now. Then click "Try again" several times until the app loads normally. This can also take 10 or 20 attempts!
Solution 1: If nothing loads even after several attempts, clear the cache and the data of the Google services framework again. Try again a few times.
Solution 2: If that doesn't help either, delete the cache and data from the Google Playstore again, click on "stop" in the app settings of the Google services framework and reinstall app number 7 in the file manager.
Step 8: update Google Play services
The Google Play services have yet to be updated. To do this, go to Settings / Apps / Apps / Show system processes (activate in the 3-point menu at the top right) / Google Play Services / Uninstall
Open the "Google Installation" folder with the file manager and install the app
(9) GMS Core Mod 2.apk
Solution: If errors occur again (e.g. the Play Protect message), repeat the instructions from step 5.
The current instructions are really not for the faint of heart. Sometimes a certain step just doesn't work properly for inexplicable reasons. If you get stuck, reset your cell phone to the factory settings and try everything again from the beginning.
I test it with the 9x Pro and Mate 30,both Chinese Versions, works for me witout any Issue.

Not working, wrong way. You have to use these apk and backup like on the Mate 30 Pro. Even then you gett Play Services Errors like on the Mate 30 Pro. New way may work after Android 10 Update.

Hello! This tutorial was written by me and published on the german website Chinahandys.net. Here is the original URL for those who want to see the screenshots of the process:

It would be really great if you could add our link as source to the main post. That's a big help for a rather small techblog like ours. Have a good day you all.
Edit: Thanks a lot for adding the link
Big thanks to letschky and furiousjay for detailed description of the procedure. I tried it on two MediaPads M6 with EMUI 10.0, successfuly in the end but not entirely problem-free. I hope my feedback will help those who tried this manual but could not proceed beyond Step 7 . My comments are below.

Actual procedure is slightly more complex if the device is not Mate 30 Pro. Name of actual backup folder contains the name of your device (e.g. "HUAWEI MediaPad M6..." or whatever your device is). Make a test backup of any app to the same USB, locate the folders named backupFiles1 and copy the contents from folder backupFiles1 in the folder tree for Mate 30 Pro to the folder tree related to your device. During restore you will easily distinguish your test backup from the backup which you need to restore - it has an earlier date.

(2) Google Contacts Sync.apk
(3) GMS Core 19.apk
(4) Playstore.apk
(5) Shared Library.apk
(6) GAM_v4.0.3.apk
You should understand that LZ Play app is a security risk, so at least try to minimize it. Use it on a fresh device which has no registered accounts and no saved password. Allow minimal possibble permissions which still make it work (e.g. disable Network Access and maybe more; but you still need to activate admin privileges). Delete it as soon as Gapps are working. Change the passwords of Google accounts which you entered during install.
I had problems with Google Playstore here. It did not load and none of the proposed solutions worked. Instead I uninstalled Google Playstore and reinstalled the (4) Playstore.apk . After that Playstore loaded properly.
I did not perform that step at all because Google Play and other Gapps components had updated automatically without my intervention. I also didn't have problems with PlayProtect notifications - maybe a few at the beginning of installation but not much.
This guide has been provided from Chinahandys.net and Huaweiblog.de Thanks for this Guide, translated by me.
In conclusion, I also recommend to go to Playstore and install the app Google to control the settings of your Google account.

Hello guys, this method is not working for me.
I have bought Honor 30 pro (china edition) and I tried all available methods.
Every time give Google Protect notification and there is no way to stop it (only if I force to not show notification, but it needs for every app, included whatsapp, telegram etc.)
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
It won't work and it will NEVER work this way. REGARDLESS what these webseites or videos will tell you. You NEED Android 10 to get it working ...
So face it: atm there is no way to get Google working.

Honor 30 Pro, Chinese version or not, comes with Android 10 (Magic UI 3.1) out of the box... That method worked on EMUI 10.0 so it most probably works on Magic UI 3.0. Didn' try it on EMUI 10.1 / Magic UI 3.1 but it is said to be a minor update to 10.0.
Please tell me somebody installed google services on honor 30?
"GMS Core Mod 2.apk" fails to install on honor 9x pro....
I’m on build number 9.1.1.213 (C432E1R4P1). Will this work on my version or do I need to downgrade?
I got rid of it but Ive bought another one, is it possible to root it and use a rom which has google services?? Any help with this will be very much appreciated. So thanks in advance guys, bit clueless when it comes to phones esp Huawei and Honor

Hi, I have Google Play Services (beta tester) at Play Store.
Recently and last days sometimes I received a message system from my Mate 30 Pro 5G that says:
Battery usage details:
Google Services Framework continuously searches for bluetooth devices in the background. Force stop to save power. (in Spanish).
And as you can see I cannot force the stop because the button is not enabled.
Should I leave Play Services Beta tester ??

And I have got the same Google Services Framewrok as you ...
I had a problem with the Google services framework on my Mate 30 Pro.
The Huawei system kept telling me that this service framework drains the battery quickly.
Wanting to see a bit what was happening, I fiddled where I shouldn't have and deleted the data from the Play Services app ... and hat the Mate 30 Pro that I had with Google services installed since December 2019 has gone to hell !!!
My fault for doing what I should NOT do.
Following your last tutorial, and after a factory reset of the phone, when you want to install in STEP-1 the 2 apk files of the Backups (previously uninstalled following your video tutorial, the Mate 30 tells me that the Backup app exists a newer version on my device, and remove it.
And of course, I can't find it, and the Backup Copy doesn't appear in the Settings menu now to continue with the rest of the tutorial.
What can happen to me ??
Thanks and sorry for this
PS: I don't know if the new EMUI 11 version that it has causes it to generate any conflict.
The issue is that with this method, if I delete the Backup app that comes with the Mate 30 Pro, and I try to install the 2 apks that you provide in step-1, the phone won't let me install them because it already tells me that I have one latest version.
And then when I go to Settings, Backup is gone ... because I have uninstalled it as you mark in the tutorial.
ADDED: The message that I get after successfully uninstalling Backup, and installing the first Backup apk is:
Install failed
Reason: You already have a newer version of this application.
I asked to Eloy Gomez at a Spanish forum becuase he teached to me last december, 2019 how to install them following his tutorial but at the moment I don't received any reply.
